Hello, I’m new to these forums. I know this type of post belongs in the “Newbies Nook” section, but that place seems pretty dead and I’m worried that no one will see it. Anyway, I’ve been interested in prostate massaging for several years now. I’ve read a few online articles, watched a couple of YouTube videos, and even read a book on the subject, but I’ve always been apprehensive about trying it. One reason being that I want to be certain that I know what I’m doing, the other being that I just I don’t have the privacy and quite environment for it, living with two roommates.
Based on my research, I’ve learned that a prostate massager, such as an Aneros is the best way to locate the prostate. This works best for me because I don’t want to have to locate my prostate though trial and error. I’ve also heard that achieving the big O with just your fingers is near impossible.
Another thing that has kept me from doing it: Reading some of the posts regarding people who have been at it for to 9-12 years and still have not had any success! With my kind of luck, I’m afraid that I will end up being one of those people. It makes me feel like I shouldn’t even bother.
I hear you have to be in a very relaxed mindset for it. I’ve been doing deep breathing to relieve my general anxiety for a couple of years, so I feel that that may be beneficial for my prostate sessions. Hopefully you guys can help me with my journey. That being said, I have a few questions:
I’m fairly new to the Aneros community and prostate message. I use a the Helix Trident Syn with a water based lube. I got pleasure by my third session. You need to treat your sessions as meditation your experience with breathing will help allot. And yes you’ll usually want a quiet space where you can focus. Go for it! It will be good. Use the chat room and forums to learn and get the most from you sessions

Hello @therighttouch , welcome to the Aneros Forums, as a Newbie please go to the Newbies Nook forum and read the four Sticky threads Aneros WIKI, LEARN - Helpful Links for New Members, Introductory Message to New Members and B's Keys and B's Best which has a few hints and tips to facilitate your learning journey with the Aneros. Within those threads there are additional links to more information which I highly recommend you to read as well. Reading those will give you a great informational foundation upon which to build your Aneros Journey.
I’ve also heard that achieving the big O with just your fingers is near impossible.
That's true, but exploring with your fingers is not a bad idea to find your own prostate, just so you know where it is and the sensations you might feel in this journey.

A defeatist attitude is not going to serve you well in this journey, especially considering more than 90% of the success is a mental process. Please read @cockadoodle ’s thread Penis, NOT and @rook 's thread Whole Body/Whole Mind - the mental side & @SteelColdiron 's thread Aneros: The Essential Mind State for a little insight. It might also help you to read @Neros 's post The truth behind how to "rewire".

Meditative practices will help you and the guys on this forum are very willing to help you along but you will need to make the effort to learn as well, do the reading suggested and it will help immensely.
What is the best Aneros for a beginner?
In regards to choosing a first Aneros model, I recommend that you read the following : Choosing an Aneros Prostate Massager from the Aneros Home pages and then read The Best Aneros model is... in the Forum.
What’s the best lubricant?
The primary function of the lubrication is to assure a minimum of friction between your Aneros and you. Since the rectum produces very little in the way of natural lubrication, it is necessary to provide supplemental lubrication to assure a comfortable and irritation free buffer. Understand the amount of Aneros movement generated by your internal muscular contractions is actually very small, so in that sense it doesn't really slide much at all (except upon insertion and extraction). The concept of the Aneros moving freely is just to make sure there is no encumbrance to these small movements.
There have been a continuing discussions on the Forum about lubrication types and issues. Next to discussions about the Super-O, lubrication is another frequently discussed topic. I recommend you first read the Lubrication paragraph in the Getting Started chapter of the Aneros WIKI and then read through the Bestlube..., Need Help with lube choice, coconut oil, Coconut Oil and Unrefined shea butter..., threads for additional information and insight into this topic. Most commercially prepared, water based personal lubricants contain glycerin which has laxative effects and depending on the sensitivity of the individual, may cause the dreaded "urge to purge" syndrome cutting short one's Anerosession. Additionally, glycerin when synthesized by the body may lead to elevated triglyceride levels in the blood. However, other individuals seem to be unaffected by the small amounts of glycerin in these lubricants. In any event, glycerin (whether naturally or synthetically derived) is but one of many chemical constituents in these lubes. As far as I know there have been no long term studies of the health effects of commercially prepared or natural personal lubricants. Because of the frequency and duration of Anerosessions the use of commercial personal lubricants has become a subject of concern for a number of Forum members due to the repeated exposure to the chemical constituents contained in these products and their long term health effects. Many members have chosen to seek out more natural lubricants in hopes of ameliorating any long term negative effects. There are many choices for natural lubrication, it is more a matter of personal preference which particular lube you choose to use. Olive, coconut, walnut and almond oils are all popular alternative natural lube choices, shea butter is another popular natural lubricant. These natural lubricants do not contain glycerin. The rectal wall is a highly permeable membrane, easily absorbing water and the chemicals therein. While natural oil lubes do get absorbed like water based lubes, the absorption rate is slower and as the viscosity of the oil increases, the absorption rate decreases. Hence lighter weight (low viscosity) oils like grape seed and olive oil will be more readily absorbed and disperse more rapidly than heavier oils (higher viscosity) like almond oil or canola oil.
What really are the best methods and techniques to use? Some are saying that you should go in with low expectations and not to expect very much. Some other people are saying that I should use the “Do nothing” method and just let the massager stay in and just allow myself to feel different sensations.
There is no simple answer to those questions each man's journey is going to be unique and the combination to unlocking your orgasmic abilities is going to be unique as well. The advice to proceed with low expectations is sound to avoid the frustration of unmet expectations as you learn your way forward. Adventurous exploration/experimentation with the rule of thumb to 'follow the pleasure' should be your guide. It is impossible to predict how steep your learning curve will be.
Good Vibes to You!
I am in no position to guide you as I did not get any any orgasm so far and I started using 1.5 years ago. But the journey has been extremely beautiful. So even if you do not get orgasm and it takes you a long time, your journey may be full of enjoyment and pleasurable time. But you will need to get rid of that thinking that you may waste your time and will not get any orgasm. Just enjoy the journey and see where it leads you to. Also privacy is a must as you will need to concentrate on the subtle pleasures in your anal canal. Just my 2cents.
Reading some of the posts regarding people who have been at it for to 9-12 years and still have not had any success!
You kind of have to read btwn the lines there. No one does something for 9-12 years without getting something out of it. They did stick with it, becaus e they were receiving enough pleasure to keep them interested. I for one have not had a super o as described by most guys here. But I am having the best sex of my life, the jurney can be so sweet. Ghusa has the right attitude. And Rumel has set ya up with all the info ya need to learn. Educate your self, and your on your way.
