Hi all,
First post here but had a chat with the very friendly people in the chatroom (tnx all :D) so decided i would go ahead and buy a Aneros MGX (first anal toy essentially so a beginner one is ideal for me)

Now i just want to make sure i don't need to buy anything else 🙂
I already have ID Glide, is this the best thing to use as i have been reading about and this seems to cause some issues when it goes into your colon? (ableit minor ones)
I dont really want to go with anything except the water-based lubes as it seems the concensus here that the others are very messy
The shea butter seemed a bit too complicated (initially at least) for me to use on the first go

Secondly should i buy a douche for pre-lubrication? assumably this is used for cleanup afterwards with water? I don't really mind wasting lube if it ensures i dont do any damage

Thanks in advance

Hi Chris,

Let me be the first to say congratulations on your purchase!! Welcome to the Aneros Community and I'm sure you will enjoy the support each one of us gives to one another.

To answer your first question, I used to use ID Glide, but started developing a burning sensation in and around my anus after a couple months due to the ingredients (I think it was the type of glycerin used). I have tried a few other lubes, such as, Liquid Silk and Sylk. While everyone uses something different and has different preferences, I really do like the way Sylk feels. I don't need a lot and it's a water based lube with less harmful ingredients than some other lubes. It's very easy to clean up and has no taste or odor!! It basically feels like that of vaginal lubrication and has the about the same PH level.

Here is the link to Sylk's website:

However, the ultimate choice is up to you!

As for your second question...

Anal Douching ensures that your rectum is clean before inserting things up your anus. It takes some getting used to and may be uncomfortable at times, especially if you aren't used to this sort of thing. So I would recommend just making sure you have a good bowel movement before using the aneros.

Once again... WELCOME!! 8)

thanks mate,

in the end after reading various threads about lube ingredients going straight into your bloodstream anda ll that i didnt go with Sylk instead i bought a couple of 75ml bottles of Probe Thick ( http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=9843 ) and some of the Aneros ones ( http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=12329 ) for pre-lubrication

Main reason behind probe is because it doesnt seem to contain many artificial things;
Purified Water, Vegetable Glycerin, Polyethylene Oxide, Grapefruit Seed Extract.

and according to the site;
Probe is a pH neutral blend of simple ingredients and citrus preservative that is odourless, tasteless, non-staining and harmless if swallowed.

It also seems to be medically certified (grade 2) so looks pretty sound to me

Sorry, I disagree with the aneros lube you bought Chris. Do you see how hard it is to read those ingredients. Goodness, I wouldn't want that stuff to touch my body!! On the other hand the Probe seems interesting but there is nothing unnatural from Sylk. All of Sylks ingredients can be found in the food we eat. However, there is something unnatural in yours called Polyethylene Oxide. I'd do some more research on this stuff before you make your final decision. Oh well, good luck and have fun! 🙄
