Review of the new Progasm!!!

By now some of us faithful Aneros followers and users have owned and used the original Progasm. The Progasm was the third Aneros model I ever got, the Eupho was the one in the middle and MGX was the first; I think I got the Progasm shortly after it was released and was well before 2010 that I know for sure. I was a tad reluctant to keep trying the Progasm way back then because of the K-tab and overall large size of the body. But, I kept at it and eventually managed to have some (I have to stress the word some here) orgasms as the years have passed.

Which brings me to this review. The new Progasm (NP) is, to me, a light year leap ahead for Aneros's largest prostate massager. Without getting into the subtle size differences between the body on both the original Progasm (OP) and the NP, the redesigned body on the NP makes the toy all that more special and more powerful. Yes, the same "multi-axial" technology is employed with the NP, and while the veteran of the Trident line (hell, any of the models) may well know how special and amazing that technology is and how it makes their body respond and react to it, the veterans might wonder if they would detect or feel the technology in a much larger Aneros body. I, too, didn't know if it would work as well as the Trident models do. I'll be the first to say that absolutely YES the multi-axial business makes things happen a lot more than the OP does!

In a nutshell, the NP simply moves a whole lot more while inside me. The OP would do this "lock in" thing where it wouldn't move a whole lot and my muscles and anal sphincters would just hang on to the thing for dear life and the automatic, uncontrolled tension paired with the large size of the head and body would eventually provoke a hands-free prostate O. It wasn't a guarantee, it didn't happen every session I used the OP in, but that's how my OP Os worked. No longer is that the case with the NP.

I guess the multi-axial shape forces the NP to move more on its own, and even if its subtle and moves less than an inch in and out, it is way more than enough to provoke orgasms quickly upon insertion. This is good, too, because for those of you out there that do not use large toys or have in the past and do not anymore, you can possibly get an O more quickly with the NP and save yourself any discomfort you might get from larger sized toys. My first time using the NP was unreal. Every time the toy moved on its own it felt so wonderful to feel the largeness of the toy moving into me and the pressure and size against my prostate (really everything in there!) forced an audible moan out of me, uncontrollably, and started to make my penis hard!! After about 20 or so "thrusts" from the NP I was rock hard, throbbing, and having O after lovely O from this new toy!!! But, there's more!

The thing that I found I hated the most from the OP was that it would sometimes slip or shoot out of me when I didn't want it to. As soon as the toy started to move out on its own it was more inclined to fall out of me than stay in. Any other position other than on my back also makes the OP leave my body against my will. The NP's stem is a little thinner now, and while some may think the body is a bit bigger some of that might be optical illusion because the stem is smaller. This really helps the toy lock in well, but not lock in to the point of non-movement. It doesn't fall out, which encourages my anus to flex and suck the toy back into me, which, of course, encourages more involuntary contractions, which leads to automatic orgasms. To me, this feature is the true hallmark of the NP. Multi-axial architecture or not, the thinner stem is a deal clincher. I use the NP with no worry of an accident now: I can relax more and let the NP do its thing and I don't have to worry it might shoot out of me just as a massive O is happening (which has happened in the past a few times; hence why the OP was an occasional toy to use).

So, the two huge pluses to the NP: better movement from a larger Aneros toy AND it stays inside of you much, much better now.

Lastly, the K-tab, a hallmark of the Trident series, is needed! With my first OP I cut the K-tab arm off because it irritated my skin a bit. As years have passed I don't have this issue anymore at all. So I got an intact OP just to try it again and I didn't get what the K-tab was all about. With the Trident series its a given and we know why its amazing and what the benefits of it are. So think of the K-tab on the NP like this: with architecture designed to make it move more freely, and a thinner tab to prevent it from sliding/slipping/shooting out of your ass, the K-tab now gets better contact and "makes more sense" now that I've mastered the Trident line toys and fully understand the benefits of K-tabs. The larger ball shape of the K-tab is really, really nice. It doesn't dig in so sharply like some of the K-tabs on the Trident models do (although they aren't that bad) and the pressure feels more distributed through the base of my coccyx and it sort of radiates around and through my anus and the tissue around it. It also brings some "AHA!!!" moments since it kind of "tickles" my spine in interesting ways. I would never, ever, cut the K-tab arm off my NP!! Without it I don't think it would work so well.

There you have it, my review of this redesigned big boy! To anyone who's used the OP in the past and gave up on it (or, yikes!!, thrown it out), but do enjoy larger anal toys, give the NP a try, you might like it! To anyone who's not used larger toys fearing they might hurt, but you do use Aneros or other toys for anal/prostate play, work your way up to the NP during your session. (I did not talk about ease of insertion or using the NP as the first toy in my session because I usually ALWAYS use at least one or two toys first to warm up to the size of the NP. This always makes for a much better Progasm, of any kind, experience.)

Oh I have one last comment: for Super T, be careful!! I have massive, back breaking Super Ts and they seem to increase in strength and duration as I age (mid-40s now). Having a Super T with the OP was very hit or miss because it sometimes shot out of me as I came. The NP stays in me but due to the redesign and thinner stem it REALLY stays inside and milks my prostate and cock for everything they are worth!! Talk about drained???? The NP will drain the life out of you! My last Super T with the NP was so huge and so fully satisfying I actually left it in me for minutes afterward and could care less about cleaning up from the cum bath I gave myself! Its large, too, which usually always makes me want it out of me after a Super T; with smaller toys they don't bother me as much when I'm sensitive and tender down there. Just wanted to make sure I got a Super T note in for those of us that do them! Enjoy the NP everyone I love it 🙂

Nice review. I am unaware of which of the prograsms I have but I imagine it is the most recent model as I bought it from a sex shop 3-4 months ago.  I had read from certain users, maybe from you even, that it can come flying out especially during ejaculation. I have only had it happen one time out of the multiple times I’ve ejaculated with it in. And I agree that it makes for a very intense ejaculations if that is the route you decide to go at the end (Because it will be the end once you ejaculate with the prograsm in, seeing as it does indeed empty you!!!).  I had the longest lasting ejaculatory orgasm of my life the other day with it in. And of course I love it for prostate orgasms, but I’m easy.

My only problem with the toy is that sometimes the P tab can actually be painful, but I have that same problem with my eupho trident which is also plastic. I definitely prefer the flexible syn arms because of this, but there isn’t a progasm syn... yet!

@divine_o If you got it 3-4 months ago its probably the original model. I think the new Progasm has only been available for purchase just the last few weeks. If your Progasm has a flat tab that protrudes from the tail of the toy its the original model, if the tail is flush then its the new model. Hope that helps!

Also, yes man, the Progasm (both models) are major drainers! I love them for that. Nothing like a fuller than full release at the end of a great session!

Thanks for the review. I favor Progasm Ice much more than my other aneros, Helix Classic.

Did you receive the NP as a free sample? Did you get an exclusive discount?

@airbag The redesigned Progasm is available online on the Aneros store. The company sent out emails for weeks offering big markdowns of the original model and then I got an email with the info on the new redesign and that it was for available for sale. Its on right now for purchase! I've only used it a couple times but wish I've had it for years 🙂

Interesting, thanks. So it looks like I can get the Black Ice variant of the new progasm (no tab protruding from the tail is visible).

I'm a bit confused about your talk of the new p/k tabs. The original progasm Ice does have ball-shaped tabs, not needle tabs like Helix Classic for example. Helix Classic tabs were uncomfortable for me but it only lasted a couple of sessions and I got used to it.

Can you use it effectively while on your back? I like my old Progasm very much, but I had to do it in doggy to get far. I was limited to a single position.

Yes for sure on my back is the best way for me to use the Progasm and all other Aneros models. I bend my knees and bring my feet closer to me for toys that have the K-tabs. Yes the bigger ball-shaped K and P tabs are on the new Progasm and they are awesome, they are about exactly the same size and shape as the original Progasm K and P tabs. If needed I'll kind of pull the toy up towards my balls a little bit to re-seat it so the P tab is higher up on my perenium and the K-tab is then not pressing to intensely into the base of my tailbone. The new Progasm is pretty much just like all other Trident models in regards to the P and K-tabs, only the arms are thick and don't have that "spring" like flexibility that Trident models have. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your great review. I have also had the OP slip out of me when I am making love to my wife in missionary and approaching orgasm, on more than one occasion. I actually have yet to be able to keep it inside of me as I come in that position with her. It also slipped out once when I was leaning back and on my knees while she was giving me a blow job. Embarrassing. Even though I only bought the OP as part of that great sale a few months ago, I might spring for the new one also. Seems like they have solved the issues. I also want to be able to relax and concentrate on my wife as I follow through during intercourse, with no interruption, and be able to enjoy the benefits of the device at that time. We are both anxious for this to work out as it is a great enhancement when making love.

I bought an old Progasm Ice in March when they were on sale. I'm new to Aneros products and this is my second. The Helix Syn was my first, purchased in early March.   I really like the Progasm so I bought a new one that arrived today. Looking forward to trying it out.

@somebodyelse I am thinking about doing the same. Would you be able to let us know what you think of the new model compared to the old one?

I have had the new progasm for a couple of weeks now and I really like the changes that I notice. For context, I have the original progasm ice and I have the original progasm in red that I cut the K-tab off of.

Holding the old progasm up to the new, it’s hard to see a difference in shape. The removal of the flat tab on the bottom is the only thing that jumps out and this means the world to me. I have accidentally sat up onto that tab before and it’s painful. With the new progasm, this doesn’t happen.

Upon insertion, I can definitely feel the difference in size even though it’s not apparent visually. I also feel like I can maneuver the NP better than both of my OPs and feel like I have a better grip on the NP.

Climaxing during sex would cause the OP to pop out almost every time. If I was successful keeping it in, it killed the orgasm. I have used the NP 3 times now during sex and it hasn’t felt like it was going to depart during climax, yet. I will go back and try the OP and make sure it’s not me...

The K and P-tabs on the NP seem, to my eyes, to fall in the exact same spot as the OP. Strangely, though, the NP feels better and I can’t place exactly why.

If you are looking at getting NP vs OP, I would definitely go with the New Progasm. It will be a while before I can truly compare the NP to the OP through all of it’s paces in order to recommend upgrading if you already have the OP. For me, though, the removal of the flat tab and the fact that it stays put during sex makes it worth the upgrade.

FYI, from this post

Here's a side by side picture of the New and the 'Classic' Progasm models. There are more differences between the two than just the removed fin tab at the bottom. While this picture doesn't really show them well, the first observable difference is in the overall length. The new version is almost 1/4"± longer at the head and the head is about 1/16"± wider in the transverse section. The main body part bulge is about 1/16"± wider in both the axial and transverse sections. This slight enlargement of the main shaft bulge should make retaining the Progasm during use easier, somewhat like the flaring action of butt plugs. Lastly, The distance between the P & K tabs has been increased by about 3/16"±.

Good Vibes to You!

Seeing this picture (or taking one like it of my own) would have saved me a lot of eyeballing, for sure. I could definitely feel the difference but since all of my progasms are of the smooth ice variety, it makes my already imprecise measurement technique even less informative.

The P and K-tab distance change must be the feeling better ingredient that I couldn’t quite place...

Thanks, @rumel for digging this post (and picture) up, I had missed it.

Everything I said about how it feels and works during sex, though, I stand behind. The New Progasm is awesome!

Well, one of my main objectives is to have this enhance our experience during sex, so I think you have all sold me on buying the new version; even though my sale-price old version is only a few months old. If the new one stays in place better than the old one it should meet my needs and I will be ordering one this week. Thanks for all the feedback.

@moeseph thanks for this review. I have also had it slip out during sex in missionary position, and during oral sex. Great to see that it stayed in-place for you during sex. It definitely causes a distraction trying to hold it in when reaching an orgasm.

It should stay in you! It does for me and its never, ever stayed in me in any position during sex except when my wife is on top of me (but then its not the most comfortable position for the Progasm, I need to have my legs up or be standing/kneeling or on top). Hope it works for you!

Mountain Below the Sea,

easytoys.com  and Lovehoney sell to the EU.  However, you will need to check with them to make certain they are selling the new Progasm.  Their websites are both showing the old product.  It's possible they haven't changed the images yet.

@aneros-team the issue is that we have no way of knowing how many old progasms they have, and they’ll no doubt want to sell the old models first.

Hi @aneros-team - I know this is an old thread, but I'm surprised that 18 months on and I can't find anywhere in the UK that has the new Progasm for sale. Every website I have visited lists the classic only. I also emailed Love Honey and they confirmed they only have the classic version for sale. Can you help? Do you know of anywhere I can purchase in the UK please?

@d-h-amsterdam Love Honey should be carrying the 20th Anniversary Edition of the Progasm Classic - that would be the "new version" of the Classic.  Please ask them to send you a picture of the box - if it has 20th Anniversary on it, then it's the right one.
