TLDR: likely bruised prostate following hour session finishing in wet orgasm, anxiety taking over the next day
Hello - I'm still fairly new to this but am having some anxiety following some of my sessions and am wondering how many others have experienced anything similar.
Yesterday I was using the Eupho Syn Trident while laying on my right side, with my left leg tucked up per instructions. The session was about an hour long, and I had no pain during the session. Since I'm still new, I finished by manually stroking (without touching the Aneros which was still inserted) and felt a tingling sensation around the rectum/legs during the orgasm (still no pain).
Later that night some dull pain began to come to my lower back, which I have experienced before after my first session a couple months ago, but the other symptoms are what worry me more. I tried to masturbate again this evening without the Aneros and noticed that my erection was weaker, the orgasm was incomplete (it felt like there was more sperm left that wasn't able to be ejaculated and the orgasm was much less intense than usual), and there was a pain under my right testicle. I also felt some slight nausea following the orgasm (likely due to the anxiety tbh).
I've been searching on here and on Reddit and it seems like people have had experience with bruised prostates that can go away after days, weeks, or months. But I have also seen some reports of nerve damage and more serious/permanent issues which is making me anxious. Anyone have any similar experiences? The aftermath and the sense of risk is enough to make me not use it ever again.
Hello @jav69. I have unpleasurable sensations in prostate when using same aneros device, and I don't have this problem when I use helix syn for example, for me discomfort lasts for about 2-3 days and goes away.
I think you will be alright just take a one week break if it not getting better visit a doctor to do prostate exams.
Take this with grain of salt. The pain in the testicle can be from herniated disk in a lower back or muscle tensions. Since you had one hour session and you are a new to this, if you have this reaction try to start with less lasting sessions and see how you react to it, also try different devises and stretching afterwords.
Thanks so much for the response, I'm closing in on 48 hours with no real signs of improvement unfortunately but I already had a physical scheduled so I'll definitely be speaking with a doctor in a couple days if it's still an issue. Most of the pain is located around the tailbone area rather than anything in the front of my body so it may be back/muscle related as you mentioned. I still occasionally have a tingling sensation around my anus and towards the right pelvis though which has me worried that it's nerve related.
I wish there was more obvious documentation about the dangers and risks with these products, everything I saw before I started mentioned that as long as you followed instructions and stopped when you felt pain you'd be fine but it doesn't seem to be the case all the time. Hopefully this is just a warning and I stopped early enough before I really hurt myself.
Looking into the symptoms of pelvic muscle overuse/strain I'm thinking that seems to be the most likely culprit at this point which has been a great deal of help for my anxiety. I'll update when (hopefully not if) I can get and maintain an erection again for anyone like myself who may be scouring the forums in the future.
Do a self-assessment.
What sensations of discomfort did you feel? (Burning in 1 or more places, Pain, tension....)
Have you ever felt these uncomfortable sensations before (before you started using aneros)?
Be sure of the reason for the pain before giving up using aneros. The Eupho is the smallest aneros device (in thickness) among all. If you compare, the thickness of the stool (varies from person to person) is normally greater than Eupho. His tilt is slight enough that it's almost imperceptible; its touch to the rectum or prostate is light (compared to Progasm JR and Progasm which are actually more aggressive).
Try your own assessment alternative to clear up some doubts. Make sure your rectum is clean and if you feel comfortable insert your index finger into your anus slowly (lubricated). Lightly palpate / touch (internally) with your index finger the rectal wall in search of the prostate, it will be a small soft volume in the same direction as your balls.Do it safely, feel it and observe if you feel any discomfort.
Either way, take a break from the sessions. Also note (depending on the discomfort if the lubricant can cause this discomfort, remembering that some create a burning sensation in the rectum, if this is happening, change the product). If the symptoms do not go away, see a doctor.
Good luck
Main issues are pain in the lower back right above the crack, but on the inside. It is accompanied by nausea when bad, but can just be mild at times. ED where I won't get an erection without touching: with touching it can get to be like 75% of what it should be and it increases the pain in my back (the erection also goes away immediately after I stop touching it). Also premature ejaculations and incomplete/weak ejaculations. I have never experienced any of these before using Aneros.
I'm researching pelvic floor dysfunction now and still hoping that Aneros has not done permanent damage.
@jav69 Sounds like you strained your prostate muscles. The erection and semen pumping is done by prostate no surprise it is a bit weak. Take some time for your muscle to recover. Anxiety is one of the cause of ED. Try to distruct yourself with some fun activities with friends or family. I've been in the same place before. If it doesn't go away go to the doc. If you feel very nervous or scared find talk therapy, because there is nothing to worry about so far.
The pain in tailbone might have nothing to do with the prostate, but the position you were in for an hour and muscle tension. Google sciatica, it is very common. How old are you?
Physiotherapy can also help asses your pelvic floor health, if doc says that your prostate is alright, find a practitioner to assess it. Aneros can trigger symptoms if your pelvic floor is dysfunctional
@astronaut I am 31
Day 3 and I am seeing some improvement thankfully, still experiencing some pain but on a scale to 10 more like a 2-4 instead of the 4-7 it was before as long as I'm not sitting down. The nausea is also gone so far so I should be able to eat today, too. I'm still being cautious with it though because it has come and gone a bit the previous two days. Now that the pain has died down a bit I'm able to assess it more however and it does feel more like an injured muscle than the burning feeling associated with nerve damage which is good. I have been doing some light reverse kegel stretches (happy baby pose, child's pose, and butterfly stretches) to try to encourage blood flow and hopefully speed the recovery along but I'm also conscious of not overdoing that and hurting myself even more.
I'm going to spend most of this weekend lying down, avoiding sitting, and hopefully I can be feeling normal again next week. The ED is still there but whether it's the few days off or the slight recovery it does seem to be getting a bit better, or at least not going away immediately even if it is still not a full erection and goes away quicker than it should. Even after I can feel totally better though I'll still be doing nofap for a bit to make sure I don't re-aggravate anything.
Thanks again for your responses as well, sciata makes a bit of sense too especially since most of the pain and feelings are on my right side only. Hopefully this post can be helpful to someone in the future as well.
Well it took almost exactly 4 days since my session but I seem to making a full recovery thankfully. There is still very slight pain in my back but only like a 1 now and my erections have returned finally. There is still a slight pain in my right testicle particularly to the touch as well but it's something I can ask the doctor about later. Most of the symptoms gradually got better rather than resolving all at once.
For anyone who might be in a similar situation to me, the stretches I mentioned above (happy baby pose, child's pose, and butterfly stretches), standing with my back towards a fire to warm the pain area, and general breathing/relaxation techniques were the most helpful things I did in addition to rest. And if you're paranoid like I was, these were the main things I was researching the last few days:
- Prostatitis
- Pelvic Floor Dysfunction/CPPS
- Epididymitis/Orchitis
- Coccydynia
- Sciata
- Pudendal nerve damage
This was enough to scare me away from prostate play for good, but I must say I'm very surprised there isn't more emphasis put on pelvic floor stretching in the wiki. Some of the symptoms I experienced seemed to be uncommon, but not necessarily rare especially for chronic masturbaters, intense sessions, and/or people with a lot of stress or anxiety.
I would say that these are rare symptoms, I have read a large amount of content here on the forum and there is still a lot to read. Rare symptoms are discomfort/burning with lubricants and/or large toys, psychological states of anxiety about what is about to happen, problems with the mysterious and problematic Kundalini awakening.....
See what is safe for you. Maybe you'll give it another try someday and see if aneros triggered these sensations or if it was an alert to something in you that deserves care.
In any case, stop using it and remember that aneros are for moments of pleasure, intimacy, relaxation, relaxation.
Glad everything is better
Good luck
