I've read the Wiki, looked at the polls, and looked at many threads. All the content directed at newbies is quite dated.

Considering newer models have come out in the meantime (and some retired/modified), I wonder, what do people recommend for newbies now?

It seems the Psy is getting rave reviews and this is much newer than all the newbie threads/polls. I know the Psy is adjustable which may be more in the realm of advanced users. But is it also a good choice for newbies or no?

What would you recommend as a first model?

Personally, I've had a little experience with some anal toys (like a Hush) but nothing prostate focused, that said, this thread could be more general.

The classic advice has been to start with the Helix, and I'd stand by that personally. I own a lot of different models, and I still find the Helix is a solid performer. Some models for me can be hit-and-miss, and I think the Helix is about as close to middle-of-the-road as it gets.

I'd recommend a non-syn model, because the hard plastic ones are easier to wash (and get completely clean), I find the Syn models can retain an odd smell unless I wash them a few extra times. But that's a "quality of life" feature that someone may or may not appreciate. The texture/feel of the Syn models is very good.

[Edit] Thread posted 2 weeks ago and I'm the only poll voter. Newbie's Nook might not be working as intended. 😂

My first was Helix syn. That was after a long time trying items not necessarily purposed for the task. A little while later I was craving more fullness. Tried progasm jr. Eventually went to progasm. Had ok success with both but fullness didn't equal success like I thought it might. Did some reading like you likely are and decided on eupho syn. Not recommending it as a first necessarily, but down the road put it on your list. It's become my favorite. Couple side notes for me at least - vibration can be pleasurable but doesn't help reach the point we're all trying to get to. I have had a few including a fairly expensive one and it rarely goes in. Usually it helps me finish with a nice traditional O towards the end of a session. Funny thing is, the aneros in me is usually calling to me to keep going for another prostate orgasm before I get up from that traditional O with the vibrating toy.

Since you’ve already had some experience, you could start larger. I prefer the Syn models as the slide right in and feel so good! Vibration can be turned on or off with Vice2 or HSV and can be very stimulating! Vice2 is one of my favorites as you can vary the patterns and intensity with the remote control!
