i cant seem to find an anal lube that works for more than 10 minutes. have tried a few brand name H2O based, shea/coco butter combo, ky jelly, the list goes on. today I went out and bought a silicone based lube but later found out thats a no-no. it didnt work either though fyi. is my backside just dryer than the Sahara or have others had a similar issue and could recommend a solution.
p.s. i would like to find something i dont have to keep reapplying. kind of at that starter phase where it still feels dirty regardless of upkeep done.

Raw Shea butter (or mixed with another oil yourself) should be good enough. Are you using enough? Generally speaking, there is no such thing as too much lube. You could try Vaseline. Some people swear by the high quality silicone lubes. But, like you said, they probably aren't the best for your libido. That and I read alot of reviews, and apparently some of the best, well known and trusted brands have quietly switched to a cheaper type of silicone. ...Yeah, I was curious, so I did alot of reading/research. Personally I would avoid all lubes that are advertised for sex. Try to find something natural/edible that works decently (lard, perhaps?), and see if your body will get used to it. There are a few threads about lubes here. I don't have links to the good ones, but I'm sure somebody here will link them for you. Good luck 🙂

As a newbie many years ago I found that you should inject 5mls of lube up your butt while you are learning.I only need a bit of water base smeared on the device now unless I am going to pull a all nighter when I coat the aneros with vaseline the water base. Never runs out for 9 hours +
Silicone never dries out as it is water proof? I assume you mean you are using a syn model which you should not use silicone lube with. There is anal lube like crisco which is thick but you might as well use vaseline as it would be cheap and safe

hey guys. really appreciate the feedback. quick follow up concern i have though. i keep reading and hearing from others conflicting info regarding whats safe to use as lube. vasaline however is one that 90% agree are NOT ok to use internally. frankly im sure it would be ok to use once in a long while but im looking for something ok to use all the time. my one vice these days is orgasms so i seek them out at every turn. sorry for the rambling. bottom line im looking for something safe to use daily possibly multiple times.
p.s. apparently silicone lube corrodes silicone toys. i have noticed this in a short while

@cherrynomore, I am surprised that unrefined Shea Butter does not last. For me it lasts all night. I inject about 2ml as a prelube and coat the Aneros with it. I am mixing it with a bit of Coconut oil for variation. The other mix some make is sweet almond oil with 10%beeswax. This is more complicated as it hast to be mixed in a double saucepan at around 70C. This also last all night. I would be wary of premixed lubes purchased as they will contain preservatives and other nasties. Most good lubes can be purchased at health food shops!

cherrynomore,

if you want maximum safety, then a food grade oil can't be disputed. that said, my personal opinion is that all oil based is inherently safer than any water based because it is not absorbed. i have never felt comfortable with the idea of the wacky polymers in water based lubes finding their way through my rectal wall to who-knows-where.

i personally am not concerned about petroleum or wax based oil lubes, so my default is Albolene, which lasts pretty well. i am thinking of changing back to coconut oil.

i will add that i don't know why people here think unrefined, extra virgin coconut oil is better than refined. I'd think the reverse. Unrefined, extra virgin means that there are lots of complex molecules in it, like proteins. These fancy and expensive characteristics are valuable in some applications in the kitchen, where fullest flavor is needed But, for squirting into your ass... refined oil is purified, so it should be more slippery. The refinement doesn't add anything nasty, it just removes unneeded stuff.

second, you have not told us how you are applying the lube.

if you are not injecting, doing so will help. there are two ways to do that:
1) get an injector. search for either a "lube injector" or a "baby oral syringe" I use the latter, which you can sometimes get for free at a pharmacy.

2) put the lube into a mold and chill or freeze it. then shove em up there.

For volume, you want to use something like 3-5 ml

darwin

"all oil based is inherently safer than any water based because it is not absorbed."

A word here about oils. Emu oil (for instance) is phospholipid deficient, just like your skin. It will go through the skin like grease through a goose. Although emu oil is wonderful healing oil, that's why you should never use it on poison ivy. It will make the problem go systemic.

Looks like all our 'on the shop shelf' cold pressed coconut oils claim to be " unrefined". It seems to be the new catch phrase. Yet another problem just when life was looking simple!
Emu Oil was never on my list. I am not sure if it is edible? That being a criteria. However I am grateful for the info regarding its healing qualities as I often wondered why it was different.

Emu oil is edible in higher grades and contains a lot of EFA's. Personally, I don't eat it but I won't eat vaseline either.

@cherrynomore you can find more on the previous forum discussions on lube. One thing that I repeat whenever I am asked about lubes: many of the "intimate" water based lubes have antibacterial and/or spermicidal materials. None of those should be put inside you--the rectal lining is very good at absorbing them. Also the various "paraben" compounds are better off outside your body or not even in contact with it. I have taken a 10ml plastic syringe, sawed off the end and heat annealed the edges and it's a great injector.
