Does vibration help or hinder super-O?

Hello, greetings to all!

I regret not having found Aneros and this forum sooner. Alas, I guess it's mean to be in the sense that I probably wouldn't have believed the so-called super-O anyways had I not had a recent experience with my vibrating prostate massager (which I have only used occasionally) where I experienced some pleasurable involuntary anal contraction that lasted for a few minutes and repeated itself for maybe 2-3 times. It's so timed that I ran into a porn video where Aneros was used, and got curious... Hope to continue to learn from everyone here and am excited about the new journey I'm about to embark on!

I've read a lot posts on this forum in the past few days. One of the questions I haven't found a clear answer is regarding the vibration. Early on I read that vibration is definitely not helping with the achievement of super-O as it overwhelms and numbs the sensations that eventually lead to super-o, which makes sense to me. Then I see the rolling out of the "Syn" series of Aneros. Aren't they vibrating? So does the manufacturer of Aneros believe vibration can help? Given it's a more recent development, I wonder if the vibration is a shortcut or a detour in seeking the faster development of super-O?

Vibration can definitely enhance the stimulation of the prostate. That being said it also depends on the individual and your focus. Also have found that if you’re watching porn, you may be focused on your penis rather than your prostate as you may be expecting ejaculation instead of relaxing and expecting prostate orgasms! So if you want to experience prostate pleasure, try total relaxation and try the “do nothing” approach and wait for your body to respond. Focus on each spasm, twinge, and involuntary and let your body control what’s next! You will be rewarded with intense pleasure and eventually Os and the super O.

Fred, thanks for your reply. I don't usually watch porn while using anal stimulation devices. I mentioned porn just to say that's how I got to know Aneros. I do have the choice of selecting a vibration version or a non-vibration version of Aneros though. Since I'm starting off from pretty much a "clean slate", I want to know if I should just pick a SYN from the get-go if it provides a shortcut to super-O.

I definitely would go with a Syn model as they are smooth and feel good as they glide across the prostate! If you enjoy the vibration you have the option of turning it on or off. The flexible tabs of the Syn models provide great stimulation as well! My personal favorite is the MGX Syn Trident as I like a fuller touch and the ribbed stem provide stimulation to the anus! Keep us posted on your progress! I’ve been enjoying prostate play for less than ten years and it just keeps getting better and better!

Thanks Fred. But the answers have come a little slow and I count wait any longer so I ordered a Helix Trident. Maybe my next Anero will be what yourecommend - if I could get something (low expectations here) out of the helix!

For me, vibration is like edging. It keeps me at a high state of arousal, but I don't always finish.

I consider vibration a tool in the tool-box.
Ultimately it's about creating pathways, and it can be a very long journey. If vibration helps you past boredom/inattention and gets you somewhere you enjoy, then have at it. You might learn something from it on a sensory level.
I agree that it can eventually be desensitizing as well, but I think it's all desensitizing after a point anyway.
I believe there is an optimal window of sensitivity even with the models that don't vibrate.

@clenchy That’s a good point. Since I’ve been using a vibrating toy on and off for a while and haven’t  quite got anywhere other than occasional localized pleasure out of the stimuli, I think I should focus on the concepts and methods of non penile orgasms for a while first. In that sense, a non vibrating device may be better as it’ll prevent me from falling back to my old habits. In terms of desensitization, while reading some of the posts here I do have a sense that people are trying harder and harder to reach new levels of sensations, giving me the impression they are being quickly desensitized as they have reached every milestone, even after achieving the much sought after super-Os. Personally I am hoping it’ll be a journey for me that unfolds slowly so I can maintain the curiosity and pleasant surprises along the way, but I don’t know if I’m being naive here. Maybe it’s either boredom of going nowhere or reaching to the peak relatively quickly that then leads to desensitization and new cravings?

Certainly there are a lot of different opinions based on our own experiences regarding vibrating toys and their impact, both positive and negative, on achieving prostate orgasms.  I had used vibrating conventional penis toys - including the top gun for me at least the Hot Octopus Pulse products which are incredibly effective.  So when I learned about the possibility of the prostate I assumed I needed a rumbly vibrating toy.  Started with a We Vibe Vector + which is a fine device but admit that I had limited success unlocking prostate pleasure - I do think that the rumbly vibes were overwhelming to me with no experience regarding prostate massage and like all of us what feelings, what state of mind, were necessary to make that happen.  I then got a Helix Syn V (which has vibrations, mostly thinking that I would like to have the option even if I didn’t use it regularly) after learning about Aneros products.  I committed to not using the vibrations and focused solely on the toy and my mindset - relaxation state, etc… and over time and experimentation experienced P waves and Super O’s.   I have posted elsewhere about the formula that worked for me - including binaural beats and particularly mindgasm exercises.  Since “unlocking” my initial O’s my journey has been working on aless orgasms and then adding to or augmenting or finding new channels to increase the strength of O’s, or even how they feel.  I’ve also from time to time wondered if I could achieve a HFWO which I sort of did once and have somewhat abandoned that as a goal (if it happens it happens).  But one of my initial baseline setting was no vibration, no porn and no penis play (other than from time to time ending a session with a TO because I needed to finish things up and do other things).

One thing I’ve been experimenting with again is vibrations although I’ve had the most fun with cock rings that also have perineal stimulation.  Still figuring those out as I have a couple variants.  But I still start most of the time with relaxation and focus on the prostate, and add some perineal vibes to kick things up a notch.  This has been enjoyable in a different way than an anal toy or an aless session.

A very long way of saying that I do think avoiding vibe toys during your journey to your first super O, your first Aless O, and really reliable repeatability helped me.  Once I had gotten some predictability around what I could achieve and under what conditions, throwing in some variables including other non anal toys has been fun, successful and instructive.

On a related but also controversial note - I got to my first SO without THC, hell my first SO both with and without a toy.  I do recommend that approach.  If you do partake much like vibrations it is a variable that can add to or augment your journey.  But I still, for me at least, recommend starting out with nothing added to the journey other than an Aneros toy (I now have 3) and some audio that relaxes you … it really is, and I’m not joking, all inside your head you just have to find a way to unlock it.  And in an ADHD media and social media environment, just slowing down, having enough uninterrupted time, the right mindset, is not easy.  The rewards are worth it.

@hesnot Thank you for taking time to repond. I know a lot experienced Aneros users who used to post a lot have moved on, which is shame to newbies like me. But while I have you here, while brand new to Aneros, I have quickly become a diligent enthusiast. With only a few sessions under my belt, I’ve experienced some of the sensations described by others here, but I have to say that the whole thing is more erotic, arousing and lustful than pleasurable, meaning physically it’s not up to what I’d imagined from the experience shared by others. I wonder if this is becuase I just haven’t got there yet or is it that I should manage my experience (It’s certainly a lot nuisances and better feeling than jerking off leading to quick releases)?

@seanyea My experience at least is that prostate orgasms of every intensity are different than a traditional orgasm - specifically for most of us used to the buildup then intense explosion then … down just as fast, prostate orgasms build then hit then go on and are sustainable for minutes and minutes (depending on factors) until you’re too tired or have to get going with the day.  They can be intense but at least in my experience the difference is you get much longer and fuller body experiences from the prostate but I’ve never experienced the sort of explosive split second feeling of a traditional orgasm.  The challenge is that until you experience it, it’s hard to know what feelings lead you to that level.  I remember the first prostate orgasm and super orgasm I had was sort of startling and I wasn’t sure what I’d experienced.  Even then I understand others have slightly different experiences specifically I’ve had relatively few “calm waves” orgasms and tend toward the “rough seas” orgasms.

Long story short - if you’re expecting the sort of quick build quick release that isn’t how I’ve experienced prostate orgasms.  Your description of more intimate or sensual or erotic is a pretty fair way to describe it although you can certainly fantasize about all sorts of things which might be a little more aggressive.

@hesnot Of course, I am very new to Aneros and have only recently learned the terms like p-wave and super-O. I myself would feel it'd almost be "too easy" if with 2 and half sessions I've already "got it". I did feel certain unfamiliar sensations and knew there was potential in this. While I don't think these sensations are "wrong" ones, I know they were not the intense additive feelings some of the posters described, and certainly didn't qualify for "euphoric".

Just had a chat with Gemini about my experience. It suggests that I give up the overly done muscle flexes, and take the "do nothing" approach. By "do nothing", it really means nothing other than maybe some "whisper squeeze" of the PC muscle, and by "whisper" it pretty means the natural tendency of the muscle with deep breathing. My way of flexing the muscles with the purpose of tiring them out was rejected as the right way leading to the kind of pleasure in store. I know AI sometimes tends to over emphasize one side of the story, and that's why I'm coming back to check with real people who can feel real things! Does this sound like good advice?

Sometimes I have Super Os from vibrating toys. When I do it is ONLY with the Aneros HSV and ESV models. Low power only. If it is too strong the vibration feels good but kind of numbs my prostate. I rely on very small, simple little movements to trigger my hands-free Os and also hands-free Super Os. But 9/10 times I have Super Os with toys that do not vibrate. I keep the HSV and ESV models in my arsenal during some sessions (all my sessions involve at least 5 toys including at least a glass wand to milk my prostate and one realistic dildo to ride) and when I do use the vibrating toys I save them for about midway through my session, after I've already had several Os. However, if I start with either HSV or ESV I have Os immediately when the lowest power setting is turned on.

Hope this helps!

@techpump Thanks for sharing. It seems folks who "get it" can get it from a variety of options including going toy less altogether. I like the idea of finding one's ways to reach super-O with a basic Aneros and then expand one's horizon by exploring different kinds of toys so new sensations and news ways of fun can be explored.

@seanyea One of the challenges among many with this journey is that there are many approaches that work for different people.  There is for sure no one size fits all approach that is guaranteed to get results hence lots of posts from folks trying for long periods with no results.  As you've surely heard on here - you're trying to unlock something that is totally new and in many ways not just different but totally opposite what you have experienced with traditional orgasms.

So the "effort" issue for example.  It is not unheard of to go harder and faster when aroused to the build up and ejaculation finish.  Initially at least harder and faster with the prostate is often counter productive as it can mask the underlying sensations you're trying to unlock.  Hence the "do nothing" approach can work - as you've experience just breathing deeply in your lower abdomen will move the toy some.  I never had much success with that initially but I DID note how little movement it took, with patience, to start noticing feelings that with time build on each other.  I always struggled with being relaxed, making very subtle movements then when I started feeling things going faster and harder and poof they went away - for me at least you can't just apply hard work to get you there.

I would also emphasize the journey aspect and there is no rush (although we all want to get to some positive results) and each session is different - headspace, how much time you have, how tired are you and what time of day is it, how is your body feeling that moment, etc... all impact results for that session.  Everyone has sessions that are so so, or maybe never get off the ground at all, and you pack up and try again later.  I have sort of plateaued and was having a hard time finding new paths and sensations - I've gotten pretty good at generating p waves and orgasms with and without toys consistently and fairly efficiently - super O's are a little less easily obtained but I had developed a pretty solid formula for me at least.  The "problem" with that such as it is, is that it had become slightly routine... so I've been working to add different elements in to keep it interesting and exciting.  As mentioned the perineal stimulation for me has been fun and different and since it's external is doesn't seem to have the same numbing impact internal toys particularly vibrating ones (to the original question) .

Sums it up very well! Took me many years to finally appreciate the do nothing approach to relax and wait but the journey was well worth it!

In my case, it depends on when do I use vibrations. Usually, it tends to distract me from what's happening internally. I start with vibrations off until I get at least one dry-O. This will make sure that the "internal engine" is running.
And when I actually turn vibrations on, it's usually on the subtler side. Surprisingly, certain patterns can be quite effective in prostate sensitization and facilitating involuntaries. Once you found one pattern that makes you clench with pleasure while being relaxed, ride it out. I've managed to get few rolling orgasms in a row this way. It's a bit different experience where you are almost pushed to an orgasm.

TL;DR;
Vibrations initially off or the least distracting pattern to get sensations. Turn on to spice it up once you get dry-O.

@soulik That reminded me of my experience when I had my first episode of involuntary contractions. I was using a vibration toy (which I realize was way too big now that I started using Aneros). I did try different pattens and speeds, and one of them happened to work and triggered the pleasurable contractions. The problem with a big toy is that it wears me out pretty quickly and I was sore afterwards (not to mention it goes in deep unnecessarily making a mess if without serious prep work). So maybe after a while, I should try to get a vibrating Aneros? So far, I've had a helix trident and a mgx syn. The helix being plastic was a bit too hard on me. I like the feel of mgx syn but for some reason I didn't feel the p-tab working at all although it made the contact, not sure if it was because my way of play or because the device was not a good fit after all? Any insights?

@seanyea Both non-vibrating Helix Trident and MGX Syn are great. The plastic Helix might be better as you are free to use any lube and it moves really well. Harsh sensations usually mean the lube might have dried or got sticky. I'd move to vibrations once you get pleasurable sensations with non-vibrating toys if you are going after dry-O. Of course, some individuals react to vibrations differently, so take this with a huge grain of salt. In any case, if it feels good, you're doing it right. Your body will tell you 😊 Just listen to internal body urges and let it guide you.

@fred27 The above question was for you too since I know you’re using a MGX syn.
