Does anyone else experience a build up of “southbound” wind during a session? It’s not every time but, more often than not I get a bit building up. I find my abdominal muscles seem to get a good workout when things get going, added to the contractions down below I feel as if this is where it is generated. It is mildly annoying and it does manage to escape gently but, I could do without the distraction, it can spoil a good moment. I was wondering about trying something like a wind remedy before a session to see if it might help.

Might be your diet.

Or might be your lube. Some lubes with lots of glycerine as the ingredient can cause wind.

My two cents: If you do a lot of "pumping": that is, pulling the device in and letting it out, it might just be that. I've had it happen, but not so much anymore, since I am a "quiet" rider. In any case, keep on going, and enjoy...

You might want to try a lube without petroleum based ingredients which seems better just from a health perspective. One I like is unrefined shea butter with a thin coat of castor oil, which is a heath positive instead, depending on your reaction to castor oil especially if you don't do a pre rinse.

I just use a water based lube. Could that be causing a problem?

If the water-based lube has glycerin it could cause what you are experiencing, if you are sensitive to it. I do not have a problem with water-based gel or THICK liquid lubes. The real thin water-base liquid lubes caused gas and cramps like you are experiencing.

Try Slippery Stuff or similar that does not contain glycerin and see if that helps.

I can't use lubes that have glycerine in them...it causes me to have the sensation like I need to clear my bowels and pass gas...can be painful sometimes too. I stick to coconut oil or Probe Thick Lube nowadays.

I get occasionally and do not think (for me at least) it has anything to do with the session... just that it is obviously much more noticeable when there is something stopping it! Does anyone use Yes Lubes? They are mostly organic and free of bad stuff.

Checked the ingredients list on the bottle, it states that it is glycerin free. Guess it might just be me, strange though as I am not troubled by wind as a rule. Just to be on the safe side I will steer clear of baked beans or brussel sprouts for supper in future
