Stu, it's clear that you've decided to use this forum as a stream consciousness sounding board, where you ask every question that pops into your head. Seriously man, you need to filter some of this, i.e think about it for a moment before you hit that post button. As a side point, it's not cool to post all of your questions in separate threads like this. As some of the members have told you already, most of the answers to your questions have been previously answered in the WIKI and the New to the Forum: Start HERE sticky. It's time that you availed yourself of these resources and stopped dominating the first page of the General Discussion section as you are doing. Please!
