Curious to know if anyone has experienced prostate sounding as well as prostate massage, how do the experiences compare? Has anyone tried both at same time? Curious about it but sma bit nervous about causing damage

as long as you know what you are doing it is not that scary.

Make sure: all is cleaned properly and sterile, i m talking about everything, use medical gloves, sterile your equipment before and after use. use medical sterile lube not your normal lube.

It will hurt if the opening is not lubed enough, pushing lube into the hole can be very discomforting and hurting, good thing is we produce prostate fluid and it is the perfect lube.

So i would suggest get your pre cum flowing so you dont even have to use any lube.

And it is hard to stimluate your prostate through sounding casuse the passage curves.

I have been trying this prostate 'chip' which is inserted via the pee hole and suppose to massage the prostate. It is like a small massager that has nylon strings on the end so you can pull it out after use. It is a thing in Japan but i dont really see anything on western sites about this.

I guess it is still quite new and off putting since it is inserted completely through the pee hole.

I used it once it is actually not painful at all, but i havent got much pleasure from it yet either. maybe it is not in the right place because it is hard to lose track of where it is.

In conclusion sounding is relatively safe as long as you make sure:

EVERYTHING is sterile or at least clened properly!

Only use when you know you have enough prostate fluid. (or you lube the entire pee hole, but it could be painful if you dont know how)

DONT over stretch your pee hole. Know your limits, start small and find your domfort zone.

And if something went wrong dont panic, tell your doctor exactly what you did, they have seen more ridiculous stuff in the hospital so just tell them what you did if you need medical help.

Human body is able to repair minor injury, you might feel some minor discomfort which can be normal since your body is not used to that.

Most of the time just drink water and pee more, the symptoms would go away in a few days, but see a doctor if it not getting better after each day pass.

Great advise from @tommyxyz24 !  I recently tried sounding and instantly got hooked but it didn't take long for a urinal track infection to set in.  Off to the doctor, and with 10 days of medication, my sounding career was over.  It really dosen't take much for something to go wrong.

You do it right and perhaps you'll enjoy the sensation of urethra penetration but for me, it's not worth it.  I have plenty of other unconventional methods of pleasuring I indulge in.

Good luck.

I started sounding 20 years ago and got a 4mm rosebud, thinking it was safest. I irritated my bladder with it and caused some bleeding, so after the doctor cleared me of infections from urine tests, I quit. Well a few years later I still had the sound and tried it again. Same thing happened!! I threw it out.

What I realized was the sound was too small to know what it was doing and where it was inside me. I thought it hadn't passed through my prostate so I pushed harder to get it to go through; I was instead pushing into the interior bladder wall. Whoops!!

So my horny mind and body decided I should try to sound again and do it with more power of the internet behind me and some better education (2006 sounds like there was a lot online, but there really wasn't...did Reddit even exist yet??). That was about 2 years ago and I have sounded very successfully since getting back into it, I can have many internal orgasms from sounding alone, I have sounded my cock while having an Aneros in my ass and have had blended prostate orgasms from the toy and the sound at the same time, and I have not yet had a UTI or any other issue (well I did bleed once in this time but I was trying to move up from 8mm to 9mm and thought I was safely there but I wasn't.)

I suggest stainless steel sounds. Silicone is only worth it if it is platinum silicone. What is the difference? The satin finish on Aneros toys you might be familiar with, that is not the classic platinum finish. That satin finish actually can stick to your urethra inside regardless of lube or precum, and it can also cause more micro scratches/cuts that cause irritation. I got back into sounding with an elongated beaded surface sounding set of different sizes that has the satin finish and I didn't know why they caused me such irritation. When I moved from those to steel I realized the satin finish can hurt you a little.

First thing's first: get some precum flowing. As soon as I have one drop appear, I know my urethra is lubed up enough to sound my cock. When I don't have precum, it doesn't feel as good and I get more irritation.

Next: I always start sounding flaccid. I have a left-leaning curve to my erection and my cock is pretty long so any stainless steel straight sounding rods are really painful when I'm erect to start with. If I get erect while I'm sounding and have a rod in me, it feels really amazing at first, but then I have to pull it out of me. It has taken a year to get to where it actually feels good to have a rod in my erection. If you are straight as an arrow, have fun!!

Clean everything very good. I might not do it like others do, but my methods have been perfect and I haven't had one issue doing it this way. I stand at the sink in the bathroom. I wash my hands with antibacterial soap. I then get a paper towel and lay it face down on the counter. I scrub the sounds with my hands and antibacterial soap. I rinse them and make sure they are warm from the hot water; I lay them down wet on the paper towel. I then wash my cock and rinse it good and pat it dry with another clean paper towel.

I only use Surgilube for lubricant. It does not sting or hurt and it is what doctors use, so that's probably best. I squeeze out a big bead of it directly on top of my meatus/pee hole. I hold my penis so my fingers are just under the meatus and it catches the lube as it falls a little bit. Then I grab a sound and lube it up against my glans and fingers, and then slowly insert it into my penis. I move it in and out super slow, it'll go in like 4 inches and then I pull it out completely, then back in, slowly working the lube into me. Since I've worked up to 8mm safely, I can feel the sound, whatever it is, pass through the penis-side of my prostate, and kind of feel what it's like when it enters my bladder.

When the sound is in and partially or completely through my prostate I move it in and out like 1/8-1/4" movements only. Micro movements. Any ribs, bumps, nodes, etc. on the sounding rod will stimulate the prostate a lot and big movements aren't needed, at least not for me. Within 20 seconds or less I usually provoke a prostate orgasm to happen. It feels a lot like one from using an Aneros, except different. It is an impossible feeling to describe, it just feels like I have a prostate orgasm "inside" of me, can't say it any other way!!

I only sound my penis for a couple minutes at a time. Under 5 minutes for sure. I pee immediately after I'm done. It stings for a few seconds and then I can't tell I ever did it at all.

My advice to those starting out:

If peeing is irritating, sound as often as you can until there is almost no irritation from peeing. THEN try to cum with the sound in. I find that ejaculating with a sound in, while it is one of the most incredibly intense feelings on earth, can cause serious stinging and burning afterwards. I just did this a few days ago, I didn't want to but I couldn't help it the orgasm carried over and I came barely trying, and it stung for like 5 minutes afterwards; I peed after I came and that stung, and then it lingered for several minutes. No blood though, just stings.

Lie down to sound. Let the weight of the sound carry it into and through your prostate. The problem with this is the weight, if it is too heavy it can fall into you too fast and that might be painful. So guide it gently and control the weight. Another problem with this method is it will bottom out and land into your bladder wall, which can be irritating. That's why I stand up when I sound, I just gently coax it into me very slowly.

If it is too narrow, you can hurt yourself more easily. Imagine it as a jabbing kind of poker. Even though I can take 8mm no problem and don't need to work up to it when I do a sounding session, my older 4mm and 5mm sounds sometimes don't go in as easily and they poke a little bit. Maybe start with 6mm and see if it goes in, if not, go down a mm until it gets in easily, do not force it in. It won't pop in, it'll just fall in like it's supposed to be in there.

Silicone is great for starters because it just slips right into the prostate without much trouble or effort. It needs to be firm enough so it travels into your body easily, and avoid ones that end with a point. Even silicone can hurt a little bit and pointed endings are sometimes too pokey.

Using a sound during a prostate session.

Of course much more prep is needed, and cleanliness is utmost. You are dealing with fecal matter regardless of how clean your ass is, so make sure you really are clinical with sterile toys and hands.

I lay on my back for prostate sessions, so I do the "let the sound fall into me" method but also guide it in by hand. The most amazing thing is when the sound is in me and it is in far enough so I don't have to hold it and it kind of stands up on its own, holding my penis off and away from my body. With any Aneros in me, I work my nipples and omg it is usually a series of rapid fire orgasms that are very intense. Sometimes I can feel the toy pressing into my prostate because there is a rod inside of it that the toy is interacting with. This is really an amazing feeling, nothing is similar. I only sound for a couple minutes like this, I get my Os and then I get rid of the sounds and clean my penis again. Oh, I always start a prostate session, then while I'm already orgasmic and the session is going good, and I have prostate fluid and precum oozing, I go wash my penis and hands (sounds are already cleaned in anticipation/planning) and I leave the toy in me so I don't have to touch anything involving my ass.

This was a lot of info omg sorry for such a long response, but this is a wonderful thing to add to the prostate orgasm arsenal!

@techpump wow, thank you for sharing.  You're giving me hope for a future re-try.  While using a SS straight rod (I presume it's straight), are the curvature of your urethra not making it more difficult to reach the prostate?

Hey man, thanks and no problem! I have always heard that the curve inside of us makes straight rods difficult to pass through and into the prostate. I don't find that to be an issue. When I sound, I just hold my flaccid penis in my left hand and angle it mostly straight out or just a tiny bit downwards, no more than 10 degrees down. I then keep my penis straight and slowly push the sound into me, 1/4" at a time, and then pull out a little bit to get the lube and precum nice and flowy. When I know the tip is through the base of my penis I know prostate is very close, so I do some PC pulses and that seems to loosen up the prostate opening and then gently I tap/push like 1/16" at a time on the rod until it clearly has entered and is going through my prostate. I don't get any weird over stretch kind of feelings, nothing feels like it is moving in weird or wrong ways, it just goes in. Anatomical diagrams make it look like a straight rod cannot go in there! But it really does and it goes in not that hard. Penis angled up towards belly button creates that sharper angle for sure. Too much down angle and it doesnt' seem to line up correctly.

My advice is very slow, comfy, non-forced movement of the rod inward and if there is the slightest "ouch" feeling withdraw the rod and try again, or just wait another day or two to try again.

For sterile use, some guys boil their sounding rods for like 5 minutes. I never have. I just scrub the shit out of them with good soap and I also use an old toothbrush to clean the tight spaces between some of the ribs and beaded surfaces.

Lastly, NEVER use those cheap steel beaded sounds you see on Amazon or ebay. The beads have holes in them for a flexible steel cable to pass through to hold them tight together. Very flexible sound, but impossible to clean. Those cause UTI like crazy. I had one and coated it with platinum silicone, so it reminds of me of a tentacle of a Sentinel in The Matrix lol and it does feel so much better than expected! I'd never tell anyone to buy one of those sounds, recipe for disaster.

@techpump thanks for your reply; I appreciate the info.

I think one of the cause of my UTI is the fact I didn't use a tool dedicated for sounding.  It dosen't pay to use a household rod for sounding.

Oh god yes that's the culprit I'm 99% sure. Men try to use pens, pencils, Sharpies, glass kitchen implements, random nails, you have no idea what guys on Reddit are trying to slide into their dicks! And some don't even use lube!!  You must use the right, proper gear for this. We can make do with random stuff for sexual fun sometimes, but for urethral play, too sensitive. I believe with the right gear, you will succeed.
