Just purchased a Tempo (got to LOVE Amazon) and then started to wonder. Is there a enough of a chance that it might "get lost" to justify attaching a recovery string? I sure don't want to be "that guy" at the ER trying to explain how that went missing. Just seems like the fin might turn into an anchor given the right set of circumstances.

I occasionally use some pretty big toys (think ~8" circumference) and all of my aneros models slip in quite easily. Considering that, I've never had a problem, or even really a fear of, losing the smallest peridise model. However, if it makes you feel more comfortable, then by all means attach a recovery string to the tempo. I would hate to be "that guy" that gave bad advice to "that guy" at the ER. lol

EDIT: By "slip in quite easily," I mean they slip into the proper position easily.

I think I will - at least until I gain some confidence. Don't know which would be worse- the ER or "Honey can you come here for a minute"?

I have had the unfortunate experience of having my butt swallow up the peridise. I was quite concerned and unhappy until I was able to somehow reach in and pull it out--it was not easy and mostly a matter of luck. I think the problem may have been too much lubrication, but I thought this couldn't happen until it did. I heartily agree with your caution.
