Should the lube be injected into the rectum or only up to the second sphincter or both? I use a Lubricant Launcher via Amazon.

you don't need to inject any at all, some find it useful though i believe.

Which lube or how should one lube is probably the second most often addressed question that's asked here or in the Aneros Chatroom.

We all vary in whether our sphincters and anal canals tend to be absorbent (dry) or moist from some secretions that others don't enjoy in abundance.

We all vary in our preferences and sensitivities wherein 'lubing up' for a session may be just a 'necessary task.' On the other hand, it can be a form of sensuous foreplay. Those factors will guide your decision making regarding lube choices and how the lube is applied. You'll also find that your needs will vary with the anticipated length of the session, size of the tool(s) you have chosen.

Here are some starting rules to pick and choose from.

1. Nothing be it a finger, toy or lube shooter, penetrates your anus unless it's already lubed (the exception might be a Shea Butter suppository which will melt a bit as it's slowly inserted).

2. The lube shooter / syringe is the easiest way to get thin oils or water based lubes onto the rectal tissue in the vicinity of your prostate. To avoid tissue damage, read Rule #1.

3. The Aneros is most easily inserted when it has a thin coat of a 'sturdy' lube like Vaseline or perhaps Silicone Oil, Remember that Silicone lube must not be used if you intend to use a Silicone toy or dildo.

4. If you are using water based lubes, it's probably best to avoid any internal rinse / douche just before applying or injecting the lube.

Rook is right. Anything going in must have help. A little or a lot is up to you.

Personally I find that if I have enough to get the first in (I have 3) my anal canal is generous with secretions. If I lube too much the devices just pop out - not fun. So if I am starting with my Helix I will lube it a bit. During the ride I will know whether my anal canal/rectum is lubricating from rectal orgasms. If so, then anything else that goes in me goes in with no lube. If not, I use a little bit more on the next one.

I have found that if I "over lube" it takes away a lot of the pleasure the device is meant to create.

I've injjected lube and I've also not done so, it makes little difference IMO, just lube the devices well.

have recently tried coconut oil as a lube and like it. similar to shea butter it is solid at room temp so a nice piece while slide in with no problem and melt away inside. Its a little tricky to get it to stick to the aneros cold but once it gets warmed up it glides on and stays on.

From what I've read, mixing coconut oil with shea butter should create a little nice lube. Personally I dislike the smell of coconut oil.

Has anyone tried a condom outside Aneros and no lube at all?

Yes and no.
I'll use condoms if I'm in a rush or low on lube but I will still lube my rectum and the toy. I sometimes find that lube inside the condom keeps the devices lubed and I can wear them overnight without reapplying lube. The only thing I don't like is the removal of the device. It is messier with a condom.

What works for me is to get some nitrile or latex gloves and use a lightly lubed finger. Enters smoothly and without and other issues.

#engorged. Thanks! I will try lube inside the condom. My problem is, that I'am not sure if my rectum tolerate all that lube. I just got some inflammation in my bowel and I don't no why. Perhaps it's the lube...!

@amaz; try Slippery Stuff gel; I've found that it lasts even overnight, and it's really thick and slippery, so long as no air gets to it. Everything outside your anus will get dry and sticky. It was also tested and discovered to be the most anal-safe lube available. The price isn't bad, either: it can be had for under $20 online for a 16 oz pumper.

I tend to prepare by simply applying lube to a finger and then spreading it around the hole before applying more, and pushing the finger in. Maybe that's a bad idea, though it seemed to work fine for me. Prefer keeping things quick an simple in any case.

Water lube seems generally useless since the fact it dries so quick is a nuisance. Natural oils seem to be the way I'm going since, as others mentioned, silicone is bad on silicone — the material a lot of devices these days use.

To expand on my use of coconut oil for lube i have discovered a couple of tricks:Make your own suppositories out of coconut oil and put them in the fridge for a little while to firm them up. rub them lightly to melt the outside prior to insertion and smooth off any rough edges. They pop right in and melt away inside making for a great pre lube.
Put some coconut oil solid in a baggie then place the aneros in the baggie and squeez the aneros in the baggie melting and coating the aneros with the coconut oil. It will get completely covered with a nice thick warm layer and no mess on your hands. Ready to insert. So i have mastered the lube now i need to just let things happen i guess.

I have a pretty simple approach to lubing.
I got an anal syringe off ebay. They aren't expensive at all and they last a long time (with proper cleaning of course)
I melt some coconut oil in the microwave, just enough to liquefy it. Then I fill the syringe about 1/3 full, apply a bit to the outside, and slide it on inside me and empty the syringe. Actually I find that very pleasurable in itself!
After I've lubed inside I apply a bit of coconut oil on my aneros, and in he goes nice and smooth.
I always find that that procedure lubes me up very well, and I can go easily for a couple hours with no problem at all.

The ideas about making suppositories from the coconut oil seem to be working for me.Used a plastic spoon for the mold. Easily was removed from the spoon once chilled.
Thanks
Things are moving around much easier now.

I always have the problem of getting just the right amount of lube; too little it won't slide in and too much it slides out easily. Getting the right amount takes a lot of trying each time. Anyone have any secrets about this?

First, I make sure I am clean, either by using an enema or just waiting about an hour after a bowel movement (never really had any cleanliness issues). Next, I lube up the Aneros and use the excess lube on my fingers to lubricate my ass. Then I rotate the Aneros and apply a little more lube to it before insertion. I use either Wet lube or J lube. Wet lube is better but J lube is so cost effective and doesn't dry out quickly. As long as you don't sleep with the Aneros the water based lube shouldn't really dry out too much, either. I've never injected any lube and don't feel it is necessary.

EDIT: I said Wet lube is better because it isn't stringy. J lube is incredibly stringy but after thinking it over, I find it may do a better job.

I use coconut oil suppositories with a combo of Aneros Lube on the outside. That seems to give me less discomfort on the inside. Because for some reason every time I have used my MGX Classic it has felt like a burning or more like a cramping sensation than pleasure. But anyway lately the coconut oil seems to work, but it always gives me an uncomfortable BM after. Any thoughts?

It sounds like your rectal lining could be inflamed. (Proctitis to be precise) Let it settle down with no sessions, if you can. Otherwise you risk aggravating it further, especially if the device dries up even a little whilst inside. Worst case scenario is a fissure, which I've yapped on enough about.

@BeergeekandbeardguyDo you suffer from hemorrhoids? I imagine that the ribbed neck of the MGX would irritate them, if you do.

@DarkEngine; do you know how Proctitis is comming?
Can it be induced by the lube or the sextoy...?

I got the burning too, it was from the lube I was using. Seem to be from water or silicone based lubes, switched to coco and Shea and it's fine now. Some of us find it an irritant, that's all, just stick with coconut. /end

If you're having trouble with your lubes, try Slippery Stuff Gel; I've not had it dry out, even on overnighters. The only problem is, what is left outside for the air to get to, that will dry out; to solve that problem, I coat my Aneros with Vaseline. It's quite inert, and should be safe to leave in. It does leave a stain, so you need to carefully wipe off the excess on between your cheeks.

You (and others below) may be right about it being the lube. I believe some people have an allergy to certain lubes?I should of asked if you feel burning or pain during toilet business, which is more of an indicator than simply using a toy.

@Badger...I just tried Slippery Stuff Gel for the 1st time...I had difficulty getting it to stick to my finger for anal canal prep and it wouldn't adhere to the Aneros device...also couldn't get it sucked into my syringe...do you think it could be a bad batch? How do you prep with it?

@DarkEngine; No I got an inflammation in my bowel. Been 5 days at the hospital with high infection. Not so cool. Wonder if it's the lube but i'am not sure. Think I will use condoms in the future

@Jaxsun, I use the large 16 - 32 oz pumper. I remove the piston/plunger from the syringe, insert the pumper tip into the large opening, and carefully using my thumb and forefinger, to restrict backflow of lube, and pump until nearly full (about 6-8 pumps for the large shooters, 1-3 pumps for the thin/small shooters). Carefully wipe the excess into the syringe, using your thumb and finger to push it in. Insert the piston/plunger in until there is a bead in the small opening. While slowly rotating the syringe, steadily push more lube out, while blowing the lube down the outside of the tip until there is a coating at least 3/4 of an inch down the tip all the way around.

The best way to lube the Progasm Ice, is to spread a thin coating of Vaseline all over the insertable portion of the Progasm; it doesn't need to be very thick, because the excess will be wiped off and left outside, and then you'll have to clean it off so it won't stain your sheets, underwear, whatever it would otherwise seep onto during your session.
