i read somewhere that prostate massage can raise your psa levels? Can anyone shed light on this? True false otherwise?..
Any form of sexual activity will raise your PSA level, its natural. If you are having a blood test it is recommended to cease sexual activity for 48 hours before.
I have been using Aneros devices for over 15 years. My recent PSA level was 1.2. For my age it should be less than 3.9.
@chestinut fair enough..what I read was that it raised them in a way that is detrimental to health..
I have not see that anywhere and in my experience is it does the opposite.
After 2 years of using Aneros and other Prostate massagers, MY PSA has dropped to that of a 20 year old, I'm 55. Ultrasound and manual test were normal too.
Now I'd been told to drink plenty of water before getting the lab blood drawn but I'd never heard about not having sex? Hmm, I do remember being told that to prepare for a football game though.
My Doc has commented how "nice and soft not hard and lumpy like a lot of guys your age" refering to my prostate.
I am a regular aneros user but I held off for over 2 weeks before my PSA test. PSA test came back great, but doctor said my prostate seemed bigger than the last time she checked. I told her I held off on using the aneros. She reminded me to get back to using it since its my only form of release.
