How well does it work as a normal Helix Syn? Is it balanced enough to use like a normal Helix Syn? The reason I ask is because the way I've always envisioned something like this working, is that you would use in the traditional sense, up until the point that things get going so to speak, then flip it on to level up.

IMHO, it works quite well in non-powered mode.

IMHO, Yes. You can certainly use this model just like any other Aneros model and then kick things up a notch by going into power mode or you can begin with power mode and later slip back into a more tranquil traditional Anerosession. You can also easily switch back and forth between modes during your session, however, the unit resets to program #1 when you turn it off so you'd have to step back through the programs to return to the one you were using when you shut it off.
