It just occurred to me: why is this position a favourite for a lot of people?
Recently a friend had told me that he hates sleeping on his back because it usually causes him to have weird dreams, often unsettling. And funnily enough, a lot of my wet dreams had been a result of me resting in this position too.
Outside of assisting the Aneros itself, I wonder if the mind is influenced sleeping like this? Given how much sessions revolve around letting go, it's made me curious.
I used to have sessions exclusively on my back with a pillow supporting my butt. It seemed that it took greater effort to move the Aneros on my back though. I seldom had any sessions of note then.
But when I switched my sessions lying my right side in February 2013 that is when my sessions really began to take off.
But maybe I should try sleeping on my back and see what happens for sure!

I've been curious as to whether there is a correlation between what one's preferred sleep position and preferred Aneros prosition. Example: Do side-sleepers generally prefer to Aneros on their side as well, or on their back... or is there no significance here? Somebody should create a Poll topic about this perhaps...
I prefer lying on my left side; I always try lying on my back in each session...sometimes good/sometimes not. I feel I can relax more on my side and the involuntarily come more quickly.
I always sleep on the side, however, for now at least, my aneros session are on my back, without support. Each involuntary move make the aneros rub the bed so slightly witch make for great and lengthy pleasure.
I think lying on the back is great for beginners, as it's easy to relax. For me using the Aneros is all about letting go and totally relaxing your muscles. Now I've started to prefer being on my side, as I'm better at controlling my muscles, or rather, relaxing them.
I had my first Super O on my back, my first rewiring on my front.
Now I find the range of motion more important, orgasmic tai chi, and like with the movements in tai chi breath is also important.
With the Aneros in I quickly feel uncomfortable and restricted, but then when I take it out, even after a mediocre session, I still feel it moving inside me, only now I've got full movement even on a chair.
Keep the navel-coccyx-perineum in mind, then especially after a Progasm or Maximus session you can shoot imaginary loads
I'm a side sleeper, I had big troubles sleeping on my back when my collar bone was broken. Yet I prefer on my back aneros use by far, with doggy second.
I think lying on one's back might make deep penetration easier. If you've seen a picture of the anal canal, you'll see the "prostate bay" is a dead end of sorts. Maybe deeper penetration causes aneros to slide over prostate rather than hit it directly ?
I hate anerossing on my side, because my dick gets in the way. The sensation of it rubbing over my thigh is distracting.
Im a newbie and discovered i like my back but i have apnea. Problem is i get relaxed and start to dose off and wake up because of my apnea. I usually stick to my side.
Ive tried doggie but it feels like it is going to slip out even though it never has. Maybe i should try that some more.
I normally sleep on my stomach or side.
Im still rewiring and dont get much from if so far. Its pleasant but nothing special. About 6 weeks in.
I tried laying on my back as an Aneros position once again this morning after a hiatus of many months. I am at a fairly advanced stage of my Aneros journey that this position may have some benefits for me. I tried it with Maximus this morning. When I have my next session tomorrow late afternoon and early evening Saturday, I'll try this position also with Helix Classic and Progasm Classic too! 😉
Im new to the aneros toys but not progasm. I've found great pleasure in a side fetal position under loose bed covers. I get deep penitration and the benefit of loos covers bumping the helix base. The resulting unexpected stimulation is very.. intoxicating.
