Is the Maximus the poor stepsister of the Aneros family?

Seems like all the buzz here is on either the Progasm, the peridise, or one of the older models. The Maximus seems to have been bypassed. Just wondering, as I amd thinking of treating myself to a new Aneros, but can't decide among the helix, the progasm, or the maximus. I love my mgx, and the maximus appeals to me because it seems to have a very similar p-tab. thoughts from the cognoscenti on why the max doesn't get much press here?

I almost bought the Maximus until I saw that the progasm had just been released.
Actually I am about 5'10" and the progasm was just abit big for although I've grown accustomed to it!
I'm thinking if I had gone with the Maximus it would have been the perfect size for me at the time.
But yeah I don't EVER see anyone talking about the Maximus...poor thing.
I am kinda curious and might buy one soon however.

Check out my review in the Next Gen sticky thread: http://www.aneros.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=417

Since that time I should say that I've become even less enthusiastic about the Maximus. There are other threads where I've discussed my reservations about it. In a nutshell, it's not balanced as well as the other models in the Aneros line. Consequently, it's not as responsive as it should be. If you're looking for larger fare the Progasm is the best call (even though the Progasm is larger than the Maximus, it is more responsive....again, better balance). The Helix would be my next choice. Next year it looks as if Aneros will finally introduce a smaller version of the Progasm also....a Progasm Jr. if you will. But again, that's a ways off. If you want to make a purchase now, my recommendation would be to go for the Progasm or the Helix.

Enjoy!

Brian, thanks for let us know that!
I was seriously contemplating the purchase.
It's strange to think that it could be such a dud but I guess it happens.
The smaller version of the Pro should prove interesting! Where did you find that data?

My own personal opinion of the Maximus is that it is anything BUT a dud and I would recommend it highly for the more advanced user. I love mine!

Tiphereth,

Just to be clear, mine is but one opinion on the Maximus, know that it has had it's fans out there too (like Buster) This was particularly the case when there was only one larger unit in the product line. With the advent of the Progasm the shortcomings of the Maximus became even more apparent.....IMO. It's far from a "dud" but not as refined as the other models out there. I would concur with Buster as well that the subtleties of the model are best revealed to the more advanced user. Regarding the source of information on the Progasm II (Jr.)...it's been through the course of discussion with the manufacturer.

Acakactinum,

Don't have an e.t.a. on that as of yet. Frankly, the concept has been around for some time now, (actually it was an earlier version of the present day Progasm.) I'm hoping that we'll see it early next year, but I'm also aware that they will be rolling out a stainless steel Peridise too, so it's hard to tell at this time. I'll be seeing these guys in a few days, so I'll try to get something more firm and be back to you with an update.

Cheers!

I have the Maximus, and I enjoy it. I don't use it all the time, but I use it when I'm in a change all toys kinda mood! It gives me a nice full feeling when the Helix is just is not enough, and I don't want to use the Progasm. 😉

I began my Aneros sessions in early June with the Helix Syn which I still use. But in the last couple weeks I have been using the Maximus with varying effects. I find the Maximus at times to be challenging to keep inserted because it has a tendency to slip out through peristalsis. Yet several days ago, I had a great session with the Maximus during which I spent several minutes at the very beginning with the Kegel Exercises which situated the Maximus perfectly. I had no problems with that model once that happened. For more information, see:

Maximus has a special assignment in my box of toys. It's the 'warm up' tool that starts my serious Eupho sessions. It's volume and shape works well in getting me stretched out inside and helping spread lube to all the right places. It's stay is usually 10 to 20 minutes then I swap to Eupho or -syn.

I've removed the entire tail, leaving just a very smooth nub. That's improved the agility.

I am a strong believer that the Maximus has copped a poor reputation and needs a bit more support!

I am rather the reverse of rook and tend to use the Maximus as an alternative to the Eupho when I am feeling in the mood to be 'filled up'. The Progasm is still somewhat overkill for me but the Maximus hits just the right spots for a Eupho devotee. If the Maximus has a downside it is that the tip of it is almost too strong and gives me pleasure almost bordering on pain! I do believe that the Maximus is best in smaller doses (no longer than a couple of hours).
I have modified mine by cutting off the curly part of the handle and, like the MGX, the p-tab needs cushioning by use of an eye dropper bulb but these are small prices to pay for the exquisite pleasure this tool provides.

I prefer the maximus to the progasm by a long shot. I wouldn't even compare them except that they're known for being the big models. In reality they're nothing alike. One of the major things I notice in an aneros model is how it feels when it's at rest, it's not all movement all the time, sometimes having it sit there and apply pressure in the right places is nice, and enough to keep the session from going stale.

Clenchy,I couldn't agree more! There is nothing quite like lying there with the tool in place without having it move around. Rather like having intercourse with no movement. Simply delicious!

Also, I forgot to reply to Brian Mayfield about the development of a stainless steel Peridise. I actually think that this is almost redundant isn't it?. The Tempo does that job quite well as I think of it as a large Peridise. Are we looking at a smaller model of the Tempo here?

Great discussion men!!

Like rook and skeeter_g, I quite like Maximus particularly for the Overture to a switch-up of models session!! Like Pommie and Clenchy, I really enjoy its fill and still subtleties and energizing!!

My only dud model has been the most popular here: Helix 🙁 Go figure... We are all different and obviously Maximus has a place of honour with goodly numbers of us too!! 😉 😀

PS- Whereas, Syn is completely different compared to Helix for me!! Syn is Yn!! as much as possible!!!!!

I've had a great time with my Maximus. Terrific on its own! I alternate between the Eupho and the Maximus (separate sessions) with an occasional Progasm ride - maybe once every 6 weeks or so for the Pro. Anyway, the Maximus sends me into hard pounding bliss every time. Max may be the red-headed stepchild but it's fantastic for me. Love my Eupho too (for very different reasons).

I had my best Super O with a Maximus. It took me to places the others couldn't manage. I prefer it to the Progasm because it 'swings' better. The Prograsm is pretty unforgiving in its solidness.
