Thank you in advance, men, for your support, encouragement, and shared wisdom.
I started my journey near the beginning of April, so some 6 weeks ago. Here is my background, copied from the post I made on the Prograsm giveaway topic on 13 April.
I bought my first Aneros about 15 years ago, a Helix I think it was, and played around with it at the time. Not long afterwards, I misplaced it during a move and forgot about it.
Two unrelated events brought Aneros products back to mind recently. The first was a 40-day non-ejaculation challenge a group of friends decided to participate in. Their discussions led to me Mantak Chia's book, The Multi-Orgasmic Man, and the intriguing possibilities I found there. The second was a website on "devotional sex," which is based on the buildup of a man's energy from infrequent ejaculation. The site also recommends exercises for calming and circulating erotic energy based on tantric practices.
Both events got me searching online for more information on MMO's and non-ejaculatory orgasms, which, of course, led me here. I remembered my old Helix fondly and went looking at a local adult toy shop for an Aneros product to replace it, where I found a Trident MGX Syn, which I bought. As you might expect, I found my old Helix about a week later while unpacking summer clothes (it had been in the bottom of the cedar chest all along).
So, here I am, back in the game. There's a lot more information on the forum than there was back then. Let's do this.
28 April. Practiced with the Helix Syn Trident for about 30 min in the afternoon. Used the audio from the first Mindgasm video. May have achieved involuntaries?
10 May. Fourth Aneros session. This morning, a couple of hours after waking I decided to practice, using the audio from the first Mindgasm video again. I woke up very horny this morning, with morning wood, but my woman wasn't interested in anything. It's been four days since I've had a release. I was very aroused when I lay down to play.
Toward the end of the Mindgasm audio, I experienced what I hope were strong, sustained involuntaries. There was a twitching in my sphincter; it was irregular, with no rhythm or pattern, mostly small movements, but occasionally larger contractions/relaxations, causing the Aneros to move in and out a lot. Also my eyelids started to flutter and I had a little trouble keeping them closed. My breathing changed to short, rapid, shallow, panting breaths. Toward the end of the experience, I noticed shaking in my left hand and a few twitches in the tip of the penis. After about a minute, the whole experience subsided.
This is the first time I've felt anything like this and thought I would consult the Forum for insight and suggestions. I'd prefer not to derail my progress by going down a wrong path at the very beginning. (I am reading the Forum articles and the Wiki, but still have a lot to digest.)
Going into the bathroom afterwards, I was surprised to see in the mirror that my nipples were very erect. I brushed my fingers over them lightly and sucked air through my teeth as my knees nearly buckled with the sense of pleasure that washed over me. It was different from anything I've experienced before, but I felt it everywhere, from the hairs of my head to bottoms of my feet.
That was the session.
On the downside, I noticed I keep muscular tension pretty much everywhere in my body while trying to isolate PC & sphincter muscles. And, while practicing the contracting, holding and releasing of the muscles, I am not able to keep up deep, regular breathing. (This stuff is hard to do.)
So, questions: What was this experience I had?
Is it worth making a separate practice of just learning to relax and stay relaxed, as well as to practice deep breathing?
Again, thanks in advance for any help you have to offer. This is going to be a really fun ride.
Super write up old bean!! The experiences and sensations are just the rest of you waking up!
Just keep practicing, the breathing, the contractions,it all takes time to learn. Progress always seems to come in stages for most people.
If you haven’t already,Brian’s best of the bee’s in the stickies is a good read. Already read it? Read it again lol.
Completely isolating the pelvic floor will come. you could get a meditation app and perhaps learn how to meditate, that will improve breathing no end! Keep us informed of your journey milestones.
There is ton of homework to read up on,I’m sure @rumel will knock you up a few links to get started with,he’s got all the info in the forum in his index fingers ;)

IMHO, you had a Super-O . It may not have been an extremely intense one but by your own description, certainly fits the definition "... for an orgasm that steps out of the normal frame of reference." So, congratulations .

I believe meditation and mindfulness practices incorporating deep breathing techniques are of value and will enhance your Anerosession skill set. Your previous exposure to Mantak Chia's book with its Tantric philosophy roots and your karezza/devotional sex practice training have and will continue to serve you well in your Aneros journey. Having an involved, enthusiastic partner is a definite bonus. I don't think you need to worry about "...going down a wrong path..." as you seem to have a good attitude and approach with your reading. Just keep following where your intuition leads you.
Good Vibes to You!
@helghast Lordy, I haven't been called "old bean" in ages. A few exchanges on the forum and already you're getting fresh! Thanks much for the confirmation and for the recommendation to go back to B's Keys & B's Best. I'll do that directly and will definitely keep up with the practice.
@rumel And thank you, too, for your guidance. From the first two responses to my experience, I'm somewhere between "the rest of me starting to wake up" and a Super-O. I appreciate the breadth of experiences and opinions. I'll make time for straightforward meditation and deep breathing exercises, which are clearly good for more than just Aneros practice. The infrequent orgasms from the Devotional Sex my woman and I are practicing will keep me aroused enough to get in at least a couple of good Anerosessions (I like the portmanteau) a week, and I hope, in time, she will become "an involved, enthusiastic partner" in my journey. (Though Helghast's experience with involving his woman is maybe a cautionary tale...)
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to write and for the encouragement. I do appreciate it and will continue to post progress here.
