First timer, not what I expected

Hi everyone!

This may get somewhat long, I'm a very descriptive individual (actually I'm a semi pro blogger) so writing tends to draw from that skill bucket. My apologies!
After some reading and thought, and a whim, I bought an Aneros Maximus. Managed to get the local adult store to price match with the Aneros.com store, so I'm really thrilled with that. It was 2x the pricing originally!

I've read (and read) the wiki and a few other websites, watched a few "how to" videos on this item and gave it a try, twice. I'm kind of confused, perhaps it come from impatience, or something else.Unsure, really.

I expected near instant results because I"m pretty sensitive in that area. As a gay male, I'm not unaccustomed to the sensation of having something inside me which is why I chose the maximus, actually. It was larger. I wasn't sure about the Progasm, and one can always upgrade....

Now, before I continue, I will say this - I'm pretty sure internal lubrication isn't what it could be. I will be picking up a small plastic syringe to inject the lubricant when I try again. Additionally, when I tried this, I haven't had an ejaculatory orgasm for at least a week, and I'm pretty amped up at the time I tried the Aneros.

I set the stage, put on relaxing music like you'd have at a spa (did you know Comcast has a channel for that? lol) dimmed the lights, and envisioned a really erotic environment in my mind. I first tried it on my back, with the breathing and clenching of the muscles. After about 30 minutes I wasn't sure what I was doing.... it became apparent the Aneros wasn't doing much, at least, that I could tell. One things which confuses me is the muscle contractions.

When I try to contract my anal sphincter, this appears to be the same muscle that also makes my penis move up/down. Is that so with everyone, or am I not using the proper muscles, thus requiring additional use and training?

I've also tried it on my stomach, which yielded similar results.

My other concern is, I can't really feel the Maximus pushing or rubbing/gliding against much of anything. It feels like it's just resting in my bottom. When I Have larger toys in me, I can feel them consume space, obviously, but push against things. My prostate is fairly sensitive, I do enjoy having it massaged behind closed doors, or least, I'd think it was sensitive.

Obviously there are many people who enjoy this product, so I know it works for a large majority, at least. Other than being impatient, is there anything I might try?

Again, apologies this was long. I'd really like to give this ago, I think I just got disappointed from the "now now now" attitude many of us are accustomed to which, obviously, contradicts the Aneros.

There are a number of guys on here who can give you better advice than me, but as someone who has been slowly adapting to the aneros for almost two years I can identify with how you feel at this stage.

I was satisfied enough to keep going since I needed it for health reasons(to which end it has been very helpful), but in terms of developing pleasure, it has been a long, slow process for me.

I would say one key thing you will need to focus on is breathing techniques. I would do some research on breathing techniques if you don't know much about it yet. I have found that holding in a contraction and your breath, and then slowly releasing both can sometimes have a good effect. Also, I would recommend trying to contract at varying degrees of pressure. Sometimes it is the most subtle of contractions and movements that can start a buzz. To that end, sometimes just fully relaxing and easing your body can bring effects. Stimulating other sensitive parts of your body is really important. I would say all these things in unison and some experimentation with what works for you is the advice I can give.

Also, I recommend testing to make sure the perineum tab is centered and hitting your sweet spot(there is a guide on the wiki page here http://wiki.malegspot.com/index.php?title=Understanding_Your_Body#Sweet_spot) I just recently starting paying attention to this, and I find it very helpful.

That sums up the points that have helped me progress. I still have a ways to go myself, but I am on the path.

Welcome badwolf (are you big too?). Yeah it may take some time for your body to get used to and learn how to use the device to bring you pleasure. I'm gay too and thought I would get instant results at first too because I'm used to anal play but it took me time. Especially since you just started, you really need to give it time. No one knows when the fun will begin, some guys get instant orgasms, others try for much longer and finally get it. As the Catholic nuns say, "it's a mystery" 🙂

What are the videos that you're watching? There's a lot of videos that give new users unrealistic expectations. The wikis are are more reliable information. You're prostate may be already sensitized or awake which should give you a head start. It takes practice to isolate your PC, BC, and anal muscles. If you can quiet your mind, breathe into your belly relaxedly, notice any sensations especially pleasure, and suspend any expectations, you may be surprised. It's not like a ejaculation orgasm. It's indeed wonderful. Best wishes on your journey.

Thanks for the replies.. it's frustrating at first. Perhaps more time will allow for more pleasure.

Have to find the time, for sure. 🙂

Hmmm. what videos. I'm not real sure, some were on xtube, demonstrations of how to use, and how they are breathing, and there was a g-rated youtube video.

Not sure what you mean by "are you big too".... I'm a heavier guy, if that's what you meant...
