I got some and it's very thick and sticky. I've tried various ways of getting it inside, as well as putting it on the toy, and it just seems to get everywhere. I was thinking maybe freezing some? I stopped using Vaseline because it seemed too thick and like it would hang around a long time after. This stuff seems just as thick. But I've seen the praises of Shea all over this forum. Anyone got any pointers? What technique do you use with it? Thanks in advance, this forum rocks!

The viscosity of room temperature shea butter can be altered by combining it with a lighter weight oil such as olive oil like you proposed in your poll question, but this doesn't solve the messy application problem. My solution is to liquefy shea butter, pour into a 3/8"-1/2" diam. alum. tube with removable cap ends and freeze (other appropriate size molds would also work). Then after freezing, extrude the frozen shea butter bar and cut into 1/2"-3/4" plugs which can be used as suppositories. Individual plugs can be stored in a plastic bag in the freezer. Insert a plug using your finger prior to beginning an Anerosession, this is probably all the internal lubrication you will need.
Lubricate your chosen massager with the room temperature shea butter-oil mixture for easy anal insertion. You may wish to use toilet paper/facial tissue to clean up any oil which gets squeezed off upon massager insertion.

I use 3-gram suppositories. I bought a mould to prepare 6 suppositories of 3 grams each. I bought this mould on a cosmetic website, but you can also find them on Amazon. I keep the suppositories in the freezer and put one in the fridge about an hour before use. I insert the suppository between 5 and 30 minutes before my session. Then I coat the massager with a good layer of shea butter and that's it. Sometimes I don't use a suppository, the shea butter is simply put on the massager, it works too.
I can recommend Natural Jelly on the formula that @rumel has recommended. I have been using it for many years and it works perfectly for me. I find that it works on Aneros even after a whole night.
You can freeze it or not - your choice - but I do not. It works fine at room temperature. Just add appropriat amount of beeswax - cf. the formula
I've seen this method mentioned before and it sounds like it works well, but I have found that even injecting lube that is a little cold sends me into spasms that hurt and can kill the mood. Does the cold of the plug irritate you at all?

I'm sorry to hear about your hyper-cold sensitivity. I don't seem to be very heat/cold sensitive so I tolerate the cold plugs quite well. Perhaps you'll need to resort to using a syringe with a warmed liquid version of the shea butter/oil lube.

I used Shea butter for the first time the other day. I scooped out a couple of chunks with a grapefruit spoon and pushed them inside. I pre-warm my chosen toy with hot water so the butter melts well onto it. Insert and enjoy. Tomorrow I'm going to try coconut oil injected and Shea butter on the device.
Best for Aneros use is Ghee Butter. It has the perfect consistency and it can be kept at room temperature. I usually buy Organic Valley brand Ghee Butter available from Wholefoods. You only need to rub a small amount on the Aneros. No need to inject it.
It's not too thick, not sticky and all natural. Everything else I tried is either too messy, sticky or dries up halfway through a session.
