Totally new to concept until Feb this year coincidental with 65th bday. Aneros Helix arrived while away; picked up lubricant on way home from airport. Totally jacked; expectation high but reasonable. Got started; 1 hour; nothing. Disappointed: not really. Put it away until a month later; same routine, same result: nothing. Read forums; watched vidoes - began to think all was hype.

Suffering from BPH for years; underwent PAE procedure in early April which shrinks the prostate by placing very small spheres in major blood vessels. Not surgery; no cutting; no heeling. One and done.

Back again to Aneros in late April willing to accept whatever sensations happened, if any. Totally relaxed and totally inert. Got something; feet tingled and legs spasmed a little. Good enough. Tried next day: not much. A week later after about an hour, could feel device pressure on prostate but not much more than the leg spams and so stopped. Not disappointed: expectations measured.

Now in mid-May. Tried again last week, willing to accept only what sensations the process was willing to provide. Not much really but continued to heed advice of bloggers stating patience.

Four days ago: another session. Recognized that more "participation" needed than lying inert. Started kegels. One hour later, sensations anew. Fuller lower body involvement, led to minimal quaking compared to small spasms, leading to more complete body quaking. Got up to pee; back to tasks; more kegels.and then attained a total paralytic body spasm. Nice. Repeated once more - to confirm that this really happened - before calling it quits. Stunned and satisfied.

Mini-groin area spasms the next day anticipating another round that night. A little quaking to begin with but nothing calling it quits after 1.5 hours. Forums suggest a day or two between session.

One day ago. 2.5 hour session. General localized spasms and minimal quaking early on. Did slow kegels and breathing. Sensations in lower body and groin area strong but not overwhelming. Got up to pee. Returned to task but recognized that lying on back likely restricted the free movement of the Aneros. Placed pillow under pelvis to provide some "lift" space. That was it. The anal sphincter started rhythmic pulsing on its own which moved the device to massage the prostate. Total paralytic body spasm followed by another. Excellent.

About ready to call it a game when a cycle of very stimulating full body sensations were quickly followed by a sensation that started when my hips slowly pressed down strongly against the pillow, my legs became entirely consumed in sensation and lifted off the bed, my lower back and torso compressed toward my hips before everything began an uncontrolled full-body quiver. The device was distinctly felt moving rapidly and continuously over my prostate This lasted about 3 minutes at the end of which total enervation. [The lead up to any sensation is felt in many different body parts - usually feet, legs, but can be felt in arms, eyes, etc. Such moves around. When stimulation is in lower back, usually a sign of impending overall body involvement.]

Not done. Staying with it; over the next 15 minutes - with the device continuing its rapid prostate massage, led to 2 more cycles (2 strong body spasms building to total body sensation and uncontrolled quivering. It's 12:30 a.m. and time is called. Totally flaccid and on back the entire time.

This morning - body engulfed in after glow: still quivering with leg and groin spasms as I sit in my office - 3+ hours now without the Aneros device in sight.

So A to Zed, as above described, was about 3 months with a prostate reduction procedure in the middle. Not willing to use orgasm to describe these sensations since the connotation of that word truly involves ejaculatory sensations. The above described are not those. Also, with an ejaculatory orgasm there is a profound, definite climax. The above sensations do not lead to a definite climax yet do indicate total body convulsion.

Sorry to sound so clinical here, but the more descriptive the experience the greater likelihood one will modify the expectation and appreciate these unique sensations as they arise and evolve.

Yeah the 'Do Nothing' technique is somewhat a misnomer, please see "Do Nothing" What does that mean? for a little insight.

Small adjustments to body position may often lead to large advancements in pleasure, being willing to experiment with an adventurous, curious attitude is most helpful in this respect. Avoiding getting into a rut also decreases the likelihood of getting frustrated.

Congratulations on your Super-O .

IMHO, this is an all too common perception as males are so accustomed to equating orgasm with ejaculation and the concomitant hormonal cascade leading into the male refractory period. Orgasm and ejaculation are separate events and the more you are able to make that distinction and avoid the ejaculatory reflex the more often you will be able to enter the Super-O zone, please read What's an Orgasm?. The Super-O is distinctly different in its quality, please read the definition of the Super-O carefully to see the distinction, also please read @Buster 's thread What exactly is a Super-O? to get a wider perspective of what a Super-O is in reality.

Echoing what many others have found, the stimulation of this device is rather profound having experienced a progression from the initial physical manifestations to more defined, elevated responses. All well within the list of milestones from the Aneros Wiki list.

I tend to agree with those who suggest there is no all-encompassing, specifically defined climax and believe labels tend to distract from the physical stimulation and sensations, especially for those who report having tried for years to find the ultimate heights with little to no success. Some thoughts for those frustrated by the lack of sensation:

First question: do you have/feel a positive sensation inserting the device? If so, then focus on those sensations. At a minimum, you can enjoy that feeling and focus on it. Maybe that's all you ever will achieve as there are undoubtedly physical impediments that may prohibit further sensation. I enjoy inserting the device each time and sometimes that's all I enjoy.

Second question: do you feel the device in your rectum? If so, is that a positive sensation? Already, you have two sensations that do not otherwise exist. If those are the only two sensations you feel, then enjoy them for what they are.

As well described by others, physical sensation is derived from one's mental attitude. Positive yields results.

Truly dislike cliches on such matters as rewiring, orgasms, super/mini this or that. They.only impose problems of definition when the real experience here is the stimulation of one's prostate to achieve unusual physical sensations.

Also, avoid the videos on various adult-sites. Although some reflexive shaking is generally present at some point, these films are posted by exhibitionist. These devices create subtle stimulation not bed flopping. Also, if you want an ejaculatory orgasm, you already know how do achieve that end more efficiently.

Not trying to criticize any experienced, involuntary reaction, but honestly, do you think one needs to flip around on a bed to achieve the results these devices provide. It's misleading.

This preface ends with a recommendation that your patience and perseverance will lead the way.

Four months in, my experience has evolved to rather heightened stimulation of the anus, prostate, groin area with the Aneros device moving dramatically for a prolonged period (5-10 minutes) with a concomitant increase in respiration and modest undulation. Begin by lying on back with knees bent for approximately one hour with preliminary sensations increasing substantially when position changes to kneeling over a sofa/chair thereby easing the physical restrictions imposed by the buttocks. No flipping around, yet the sensations are revelatory and I do need to "hold on" for the duration of this involuntary, physical ecstacy in the groin, pelvis and rectum - ok, hard to describe experience without resorting to cliches. [Super-Os initiated by lots of auto-f***ing.]

A psychic concern about whether this device could lead to incipient impotence in older gents was quickly dissipated by REM erection success.
