as i've posted before i use only some vaseline or albolene on my progasm although i soak my butt and the aneros in very warm almost hot water and spend a lot of time teasing and relaxing my anal sphincter with ivory foam or similar (one part ivory or dove to ten or twenty parts H2O in a pump foamer), and i probe my butt with a foamy soapy finger checking out the landmarks and confirming the emptiness of my rectum ("rectal vault") ...
i have discussed the issue with guys both str8 and gay who practice or have practiced either pegging or anal sex with a partner - as either pitcher or catcher - and have confirmed what i know to be true ==> lube especially glycerine when used in any quantity can act as a stimulant and cause a shitty experience
... i found the following vid on xtube showing a dude using a "rudeboy" ass and prostate vibrating stimulator and you will note at about 00:35 he lubes the toy and his anus with a very modest amount of lube (type uncertain) ==> NotEJay's Videos
hope this is helpful

Rip,
Quite the opposite of warming the Aneros ahead of time is the "ice bath" method, which I've tried on occasion with success. In my rendition, I slather the Aneros with a thick coat of room-temperature shea butter, pop it in a baggie, and then plunge it into an ice bin (others use ice water). The shea butter hardens in just a couple of minutes. Then, pop it back out of the baggie and carefully insert. Rather than losing shea butter 'on the way in,' all of it stays intact on the Aneros until it's in the right position against your prostate. Then, go lie down and relax (while either enjoying, or not, the new sensation of a "cool Aneros") and in a few more minutes, the shea butter is getting close to body temperature and ready for fun time.
i read the poll reply's wrongly and voted as yes { IDIOT } i myself only started using the aneros 6 months ago and my first model was the mgx i did not at the time purchase a lube applicator which i remidied soon after and found the experience much more pleasant i have now reduced the amount of injected lube prior to a session and coat mgx/helix with a good layer of gun oil lubricant this is fine and the mobility is great but when using the progasm i up the amount of lube applied analy and usually use helix for a while before introducing the bigger pro , i also tried olive oil and it lasted ages with the progasm without re lubing

Got some astrolube to try in the morning, excited to try a new lube!
It depends to me on how long it was since the last time I used an Aneros. If it's been very recent and I'm still pretty coated with lube, I won't insert any more - just lube the Aneros. Otherwise it's the full prep: enema and a small amount of lube with a syringe.
In order to fully lube myself, I need to use a lube injector which in itself is quite pleasurable. However, squirting so deeply can at times give me the runs.
As I do my exercises, on the other hand, I find that happening less and less frequently. I may try a smaller size instrument than the Progasm in order to minimize my need on lube, at least squirted so deeply.
Peridise, Tempo or SGX: Just Crisco or Shea on the tool and I'm GTG
Larger tools: Smear the tool and inject 2ml to 5ml of melted Shea+Coconut (larger tool, more lube)
On travel: Slippery Stuff(gel) smeared and injected -- because cleanup is easier

I'm with you. Just a little Vaseline or sometimes Coconut Oil for me on the MGX or Progasm... and I'm good to go. However, sometimes I prelube with either coconut or olive oil. Just depends on my mood. Either way is good.
Asses Up; Boy Butter Water Based http://boybutter.com/collections/boy-butter-lubricants-water-based/products/boy-butter-h2o-9-oz
I find that for extended times, 2-3 hours, an oil based lube is necessary. If you are planning an hour or less, it is sufficient to just put a water based lube on the exterior of the tool of your choice. Water based lubes tend to dry up over time.
Additionally, if you are using something larger, like the Progasm, an internal lube may be helpful as lubing the toy may result in most of the lube being squeezed off during insertion.
I think it depends on two things: first, how long you want to ride. The longer the ride, the more internal lube will help. Second, on whether you want to go on to other toys or sexual activity after the Aneros. Like, if I want to move on to a dildo, or I use the Aneros as a prelude to fucking, internal lube is a big help.
I use water based lube on and in me ( not a large amount) and then use silicone lube on the aneros. Best of both worlds.
I'm still learning atm, 2 weeks in . I find for a quick session lubing the Helix and my butt with KY works ok, but for extended sessions or overnight I inject with water based which is working ok so far.
Lube is the main point for ne to feel pleasure using toys
Have experimented with several different lubes. Usually prelube with a medicine dropper made by Playtex which is packaged with a small bulb which can be used to cleanse the anal cavity as well - takes more time than a douche but the package is only several dollars. As to
lubes have tried KY, Astrolube, and Cocoa butter using Astrolube as prelube and KY or Cocoa butter on the Aneros. Generous amounts help
the internal action and enhance the movement!
for me,
i just lube up the toy with KY
my session is usually around 30min so drying up is not an issue to me yet
I've searched the forum for opinions on different lubes but still experimenting myself, currently the combination of ID Glide and Slippery Stuff Gel. I have the Shibari Lube Launcher which I'll fill with a bit of ID (no exact measurement yet). I certainly don't have it down to a science and sometimes I've gotten great results by just sticking a lubricated finger up my rectum a few times. I would like to say that there's no limit to how much lube I inject inside myself but in all honesty it wouldn't be true. In fact it seems that so much of it leaks out and onto my perineum that I'm constantly wiping off my perineum and the P-tab just to keep it functioning the way it should. (After all the wiki says offhand that it "must be kept dry at all times." Still looking for foolproof ways of doing that though!)
My "it depends" is this: I lube my ass with my lubed pointer finger. I do this crouching down, provides super easy access and depth. I use Astroglide gel (used to use the "sensitive skin" one but they changed the formula and it burned me inside!!). I massage the walls inside me really gentle at first then with more pressure. I especially rub my prostate all over and all around it and stimulate it everywhere (it's kind of dome-shaped if you've felt your own). Then I wet the same finger at the sink just really quick and fuck my ass with my finger a bit. If it's not wet and slippery enough I'll add a little more lube, maybe a few more drops of water. Through this process I "eroticize" my anus, canal and prostate. When I do this all I can think about is having a toy in me; its all very arousing and I gain lots of confidence and drive because I know myself inside so well!! So I don't use lube shooters/applicators (have in the past but gave up on them) but always lube myself up beyond just what's on the toy.
I know some people have serious to moderate hygiene issues and probably would not be able to do what I'm describing. But I see the ability to be able to do this to yourself as a major way to become extremely comfortable with yourself in so many ways. Anything anal is such a taboo and it's pretty ridiculous the things people go through to avoid their ass or what their ass does. I understand, it is a place where human waste comes from!! But, if you're practicing clean methods in the bathroom AND are using Aneros or involved in anal play, then you could attempt what I'm talking about. I think about the hang ups people have with things related to anal sex and when I eroticize my ass I sometimes say "see, that's not all that bad now is it?!" to myself and grin 🙂
If I’m using any of my Tridents, I will squirt a small amount of silicone lube into my anus. Then I apply a generous amount of Astro Glide water base lube to the aneros. This combination really allows for the movement of the device.
When I use any Syn Aneros, I will lube up the device with water base lube as well as the entrance of my anus.
It depends on the size of the device. For smaller ones like Eupho I use a small amount of Aloe Vera gel inserted with my finger and then insert Eupho. I find that too much lube can cause it to slide out more easily. With a larger device like Progasm or Vice2 I may use a plastic lube shooter to insert lube inside as well as coat the device with a small amount. This creates better movement while doing contractions and promotes auto action!
I have read and chatted with a lot of guys over the years relative to lube. I have experimented with my own protocols for prep, application, injection and substance. There are several comments I want to make based on my 20 + years of research and practice with prostate orgasms, most of it with Aneros. First of all keep in mind that whatever you put in your anal canal is going to go right into your bloodstream. I won't list all the things that you can use but do research on anything you are going to take internally and what it does to your physiology, body chemistry and overall health. I have cholesterol issues so any "natural oil" based lube that I put in me that is high in cholesterol will not help me at all.
Secondly the tissue in your anal canal is not universally similar stuff. Each of us has own body chemistry. A lot of guys talk about using olive oil. At face value olive oil is VERY healthy stuff. However for me, I have an allergy to olives and olive oil. If I were to use it, it would be like putting battery acid in my rectum. That would be followed by a case of the runs that would be torturous. With the idea that we are all different you can't assume that what works for Joe will be ideal for Harry.
Lastly, as we all know anal induced prostate massage with an Aneros or a dildo is incredibly pleasurable. However it is by its nature incredibly messy. Even if you are "cleaned out", lube will leak out of you and it might be discolored and unhygienic. In my 20 years of Anerosing I did at least 15 of them in hotels while I traveled for work. I did an average of 120 hotel stays over the years with some years going as high as 180. That's a lot of stained sheets. To combat that I began to bring two flat sheets with me to lay on the hotel sheets to catch any leakage. This involved washing sheets for week long stays. It is a lot of work.
However the best solution I discovered here 12 years ago was someone suggesting the "the condom method". I will offer it to you as it was offered to me. It works great with Tempo and Peridises and can be adapted to all other devices. I buy "Magnum" condoms (the big ones) for Tempo which is primarily the only Aneros device I use. When its time for the "rubber to meet the road" (pun intended) so to speak I unroll the condom fully. I then hold it by the opening so it hangs down and fill it with at least a tablespoon of whatever liquid lube that you want to use. Drop the device into the condom, then take all the air out of the condom and tie a knot in the opening. Then take a few drops of lube and supplement the lube on the condom with it and drive the condom covered Aneros home LOL.
For devices that have abutment tabs you can use a regular sized condom but instead of putting the entire device in it, only put the "working" end of the Aneros in the condom and use a medium sized rubber band around the opening of the condom just below the spot where the abutment tabs meet the neck of the insert-able part.
As I have gotten more experienced however, lube has been less of an issue as I only do an Aneros session once or twice a month. Now I do Alesses every other night most weeks. Other than the profuse clear stainless precum that I leak there is no mess. The message is try to learn to do Alesses alternately.
I have been enjoying this prostate pleasure this way for years. It is easy to do without requiring a chemistry lab to do a session. LOL
Happy orgasms guys !!!!!!
@gnawdol I recently discovered Coconut oil/Shea butter (3:1) mixture works great. It turns out that coconut oil is mostly saturated fat HOWEVER the lauric acid in coconut oil is converted to HDL cholesterol which is a "good" form of cholesterol that also forms from vigorous exercise. Coconut oil alone would work if you are not sensitive to that oil too and the Shea butter just melts at a slightly higher temperature to last longer. The mixture is easy to apply to the Aneros as well as a dab internally.
@obx I have heard of guys using it over the years. Your research tells me that it would be a great alternative for me or first shot for a newbie. For me at this point (old guy), what I am doing works and it is neat and clean. Thanks to diet, exercise, medication and alcohol abstinence my lipid profile is off the chart great. That all being said I think I will stay the course I am on. Thanks though for your thoughtful comment. It goes to show what I have said about Aneros practice over the years. As many guys as there are doing it, that's how many ways there are to get enchanting results. We are all different and that's cool.
As mentioned above, coconut oil is a good inexpensive lube but it will stain! Have been using Aloe Vera gel for quite some time and it works well and doesn’t stain. Is commonly used for sunburn protection and feels cool!
