Well, here goes.

Been reading the forums for a bit and took the plunge (pun intended) this morning with my brand new Helix.

My info : 56 years old, straight, happily married for ages, healthy libido and healthy plumbing . Our sex life is good but has slowed a little in the past year or two as my wife begins the natural hormonal changes of menopause. But when we do, we do. 😉

Anyway, over the last few years I've bought her a toy or two, which we use as a couple or more often, she uses by herself when the need arises and I'm not around, but it occurred to me that we men should be able to explore our selves with our own implements of pleasure, so I bought a Helix.

So couple of hours ago, after a clean out (water) and a hot shower, I lubed myself and the gadget, laid on my side and did the insertion. I had no problems at all with the size of the Helix, which eliminates one issue right away. Once inserted, I put a pillow between my thighs and laid there, relaxed for 10 mins. or so. After which time I started some very slow (as per instructions) contractions. I did this about another 10-15 mins. and while the sensation was not at all unpleasant, there was no specific feelings of pleasure, either. I then began to increase the strength and speed of the contractions and discovered I was becoming erect but could still not feel pleasure in the area of the prostate.

After awhile, I rolled onto my back with legs apart and began contractions , slowly and gently again. Two things happened right away. First, the "K-Tab" made contact close to my tailbone, which was a bit distracting. Then I noticed a rather pleasant sensation as I relaxed my contraction and the head of the Helix "rubbed" something on the way back. This happened only on the "backstroke" of the contraction and could note be duplicated on the "upstroke" portion. At this point I noticed the erection I had was gone and did not return. Oh well, it wasn't his turn anyway. Can I assume that maybe the Helix is not the one for my body type (thin, 5'11") or am I just heading in the right direction down a curvy road ?

All in all I enjoyed the experience and will continue my search for this illusive alternate orgasm.

BTW, I did masturbate after the session only to find that (as the old poem goes) "There I sat, broken hearted. Paid my dime and only farted "

Oh well, I believe I deserve a blow job from the boss when she gets home. After all the hard work and stuff........
😉

Great forum, guys. It's good to speak plainly to others without embarrassment. I will continue to update for those who want to read it.

the first thing newbies conclude when they don't get immediate response is that the unit doesn't fit.

there may be something to it, but, most of the time it is a process, training and awareness issue.

so, no, it is way too early to conclude anything about fit.

imagine yourself to be on a magical mystery tour. let go, relax, and open the senses. no hurry.

Haha! 😆

Welcome to the Aneros forum RePete!

Those are some very good and detailed observations. And also good questions that I will answer in bit. I encourage you to continue to post within your thread(this one), as you progress with your sessions and experience, as a sort of Aneros diary. I've found for myself that putting my thoughts into words has been very helpful in understanding my own experience and to formulate new questions as I progress down my own path to finding super-O's. I also recommend that you read as much as you can within this forum, and ask questions as you need to. There is a good bunch of guys here that will be happy to impart there experience to you. Rumel should have sent you some preliminary information to read via Private Message that would be a good place to start if you haven't already.

First of all, you've only had one session so far. You can't expect much of anything on your first session. From what I've read here in the forum, and my own experience, most people do not experience any, or much of any pleasure on the first try. That being said, the consciously controlled contractions is just one step early on in exploring what to do with your Helix. Ultimately, once you get comfortable enough with it, and you might have a difficult time understanding the reasoning for this, but total relaxation is what you need to do to start to experience involuntary contractions. It takes time to train your body and mind to learn to experience pleasure from different locations (your anus and prostrate), that is not your penis.

It is a good idea to go into an Aneros session as aroused as possible. What is generally recommend here in the forum is that guys abstain from masturbating, as much as possible, so as to increase your arousal before a session. But also not to masturbate during, or right after a session. This one is particularly important, because it is difficult to train your body and mind to find pleasure from your anus and prostrate(a process we call "re-wiring"), if you keeping tugging on your penis to get pleasure. 😀 But since you have a wife, you are going to have to talk to her about this, and find some sort of compromise so she understands the reasoning and won't feel left out or ignored by you. Perhaps some of the married men here can chime in and describe how they handled this situation. Being single, I have no personal experience to provide in this department.

After awhile, I rolled onto my back with legs apart and began contractions , slowly and gently again. Two things happened right away. First, the "K-Tab" made contact close to my tailbone, which was a bit distracting.

Technically the Helix does not have a K-tab. Only the Progasm has that. What you feel hitting your tailbone is considered to be the handle/tail. And having it touch you there happens both in the laying on your back, and sitting position. Many people here have removed the handle/tail because of this. But it is considered a modification decision not to be taken lightly. Once it's gone it's gone. The following link talks about the removal of the handle/tail.

Then I noticed a rather pleasant sensation as I relaxed my contraction and the head of the Helix "rubbed" something on the way back. This happened only on the "backstroke" of the contraction and could note be duplicated on the "upstroke" portion.

My own personal experience has been that I've gotten pleasure from the Aneros moving in both directions. But I don't think you are going to feel it like you should until you've gone through some of the re-wiring process and have learned to completely relax.

Can I assume that maybe the Helix is not the one for my body type (thin, 5'11")

No, but other models sometimes work better for different guys initially. I started with the Helix also. And through sporadic on and off usage over the course of a little over a year I had very little results until just recently. Then I bought an MGX, and that really kick started the whole process for me as it pushes into the prostrate much more firmly than the Helix, and the ribs on the shaft adds a lot of stimulation to the anus. Now I find I like to start with the MGX. And when it starts to push to hard on my prostate, I switch to the Helix. I think had I been more persistent with using the Helix I would have eventually gotten where I am now. Although it might have taken a little longer.

or am I just heading in the right direction down a curvy road ?

Yes it is a curvy road, and very new territory for most people. Be patient, make no expectations of the results before and during your sessions, and practice on a regular basis.

BTW, I did masturbate after the session only to find that (as the old poem goes) "There I sat, broken hearted. Paid my dime and only farted "

Ummm.... If farting is the response your body gives you from stimulating your penis, then you either have a problem you should get looked at, or you have a very understanding and tolerant wife! LOL Just kidding, I understand what you are saying, and recognize that old dirty rhyme from my childhood. Have you ever heard this one?

Here I sit in the fumes and vapors,
Somebody used all the toilet paper,
How long will I sit and linger,
Before I decide to use my finger.
😆

It's good to speak plainly to others without embarrassment. I will continue to update for those who want to read it.

I agree, and please do keep us updated.

Good luck on your Aneros journey.

Peace 🙂

As to how the device affects married men, I can speak to that. First off, though sex with your wife will take some of the steam from your next Aneros session, you will find that it is well worth it. First, you will feel bigger to your wife, giving her a fuller sensation. Second, your orgasm with your wife will be more pleasurable. Third, “Mistress Aneros” seeks to take nothing from your wife or you- she only brings pleasure to you both.

So drink deeply from the well of your youth and enjoy sex with your wife as often as you can. She will be happy at the increase in you brought on by the Aneros.

Does your wife know you bought an Aneros?

So far, she knows only that I've bought a toy for me. All in good time. Think I'll become familiar with it before the official intro... 🙂

Ok. Session #2.

More relaxed this time and spent more time positioning myself and the Helix, just to feel any differences.

Simply put, I did FEEL more in this session than the first. I felt a sensation of what I can only describe as "sensitivity", but this time in both directions of the self induced contractions. It was a pleasurable sensation, so this is progress. After doing much more reading, I realize that patience is the key.

At this point I am pleased with this new step in personal pleasure and look forward to many more sessions and eventually getting my wife involved.

Onward and inward.....

Awesome RePete! 😀

Glad to hear your starting to feel something down there.
That's a good start.
I think if you take the patience, and add to it diligence in practicing regularly, learning to relax completely, and make no expectations of your sessions, you should continue to make progress with your Helix.
Keep at it!
