The obvious transfer or path of the Sun all along the zodiac is called the Ecliptic. The ecliptic overtakes during the middle of zodiac and is disposed at an angle of 23 degrees and 28 minutes to the center of zodiac. Moon's obvious direction approximately the earth cross the ecliptic implicitly at two points called the 'Nodes'.

The position where the Moon crosses the ecliptic from south to north is called the climbing node or 'Rahu' when it crosses the ecliptic from north to south is called the downward node or 'Ketu'. These 2 positions are 6 zodiac signs or 180 degrees away from each other

The location of these two points with high opinion to zodiac signs is of equivalent significance to location of other planets with admiration to zodiac sign in Vedic astrology.

In Vedic Astrology Horoscope, the correct location of the Moon at the accurate time of birth with reverence to the zodiac sign and the point in the zodiac sign uttered in longitudes will be Janma Rashi/ Moon Sign/ Moon Ascendant.
