I've been playing with my Helix for about a week now. I do occasionally get tiny amounts of sensation around my anus so I'm content. I do wonder if I'm not using enough lube because I don't get any sense that the Helix moves. The advice is to use lots of lube. I use a water based lube. I find that once the Helix is saturated with lube if I were to try to coat it with more it's just going to drip off the Helix before I can insert it. Thoughts on how I can know that I've used "plenty?" Thanks.

I use minimal lube. Usually whatever I can get it, reasonably, with a finger. I then put a coating of Vaseline on the end of the shaft, the area above the K & P tabs. Put in on for about an inch of length. Sometimes I just do the Vaseline on the shaft with just a little on my asshole to start it in.

Someone here posted about lube being over-rated. I fall into that camp. I've tried 4cc of Astroglide gel a few times and didn't find it made any difference. Now, I've got a LOT of anal toy experience, I may have callouses 😉 so lube may not help as much.

Hey @sfman ,

I use a water based lube. I find that once the Helix is saturated with lube if I were to try to coat it with more it's just going to drip off the Helix before I can insert it.

Use a lube shooter / syringe to get some lube inside you before you insert the aneros. Or freeze some lube in an ice tray to make suppositories. You'll have to find a suitable tray though, regarding shape & size. I found a good selection of chocolate candy trays on amazon.

Thoughts on how I can know that I've used "plenty?"

When you leak the lube I guess... You may put a towel under just in case.

I just use basic KY and put about a half-inch of it on my finger, use it to butter up the Aneros, and whatever's left on myself. Really, not a lot. Works just fine, the toy gets sucked in quite fast. I don't like the leakage, though, so I use less lube and keep a towel between me and anything I don't want to mess up. The 1/2" bead of KY seems to be more than enough.
