What happened to Rumel?

Hey guys, long time no see.  I hope to catch up on all that I've missed, etc, but one question that I have right off the bat is WHERE'S RUMEL???  I see his last post was over a year ago, and while people come and go, he's been someone from the old, oooooold days that was always around, posting regularly (if somewhat sparsely the last couple years), always had an encouraging word and willing to lend a helping hand, usually in the form of links to other discussions along similar topics.  His knowledge of just what was talked about here was nearly encyclopedic, and he was incredibly useful to new members, and a great guy, never had a cross word for anyone.  

I also can't believe that after more than a year, I'm the first poster to ask after him, but I haven't been able to find any other topic!  Can anyone give me some more info?
