are dry orgasms still the same thing as wet orgasms as in, do the same muscles contract to produce the orgasm effect? like is my prostate, PC and anal muscles supposed to be doing contracting without ejactulating???

thank you

Not necessarily. I've had orgasms where it was the same peak feeling, but it was only a sensation in my body, without the usual muscular contractions. I don't know what else to call it except a dry orgasm. But then I have read reports where people described having super-o's where it felt exactly like they were "shooting a load".
I have experienced brief flashes of dry ejaculation spasms, like for a split second there was something. Or a prolonged weak involuntary contraction/spasm that was immensely satisfying and very ejaculation-like.

So I think it's a "Yes and no" situation, where the only criteria is that there was no semen involved.

I'm also curious to hear people's experiences with this. I'd love to experience a more full-blown version of the sensations I've only had a hint of so far.

This is from wiki male "human male experiences rapid, rhythmic contractions of the anal sphincter, the prostate, and the muscles of the penis" and female " consist of a series of muscular contractions in the pelvic area that includes the vagina, the uterus, and the anus". It's interesting both are kinda similar physiological. So does a dry O have the prostate and anus contract too???

Hey @beavissolid ,

as @Clenchy already said:

You seem to have the problem, that orgasm is some kind of blackbox to you. An orgasm is not just one thing happening, it's a whole bunch of things happening at the same time. Contractions are one of these things, but they don't define the orgasm as a whole. Dry-O's may or may not be accompanied by contractions. The essential criterion is if the valves of your seminal vesicles keep shut.

The "normal" wet-O sequence goes like this:

  • ascend (faster breathing, harder and faster stimulation)
  • being close (edging-play usually happens in this range of arousal): massive tension buildup around the prostate and seminal vesicles
  • seminal fluids are pushed against the valves/ducts (loading the gun)
  • point of no return (pulling the trigger // spine-orgasm relfex is triggered)
  • the valves open (the firing pin moves)
  • contractions (shooting the gun // transport of the semen through your body to the outside)

So again: the only thing that is neccessary to qualify a Dry-O as such, is that the valves remain shut. Thus a Dry-O doesn't need to be accompanied by contractions, but it surely can and often does. IMHO, that depends on how much muscle tension you build up on your ascend (muscle spasms / contractions are the release of muscular tension). Energy-type orgasm (dream orgasms, kundalini, hypnosis, amygdala clicking) often get along w/o any muscle tension at all but only with nerval excitation / tension.

If you are willing to spend another 30 mins reading, I suggest you read my entry in the "My first Super-O"-Thread, where I share my thoughts on the different types of orgasm.

Cheers, Unfug

@Unfug Great explanation and a great analogy!
@beavissolid Rather than analyzing and expecting certain results, just relax and let yourself go! No two "sessions" are the same. Just feel the energy coursing throughout your body and enjoy it! Still your mind and let yourself go to that sensual, male-only place!

Unfug awesome post! I watched the you tube videos and will probably watch them again. I'm also going to write down all the orgams for reference because I do believe I have experience all of them, maybe not the super full body yet but something close it. The dry orgasm was the best. I could feel my prostate get hard and everything contract, it was awesome. I also related to not getting an erection with mini O's but with the Dry O, I got fairly hard (I didn't touch my penis but could tell it was hardish). I get pleasure waves randomly throughout the day. My problem with everything seems to be wet orgasms because I like to get off. But when I get off, I notice that I'm not into the toy play for a day or two. The good news is, I have restrained myself for 3 days now from ejaculation but I'm going to wait till tomorrow to play with some toys. Thanks Unfug, anymore advice? Maybe how to get Dry O vs Mini Os

I'm glad I could help. 🙂 For learning Dry-O's, I heavily recommend @DarkOrb's thread where we discussed methods to masturbate in a classic way but avoid ejaculation. For mastering Mini-O's respectively energy-orgasms, I recommend to grab a good book about tantra (the best book I know of is named in this thread).

Cheers, Unfug
