Hi, I'm 52, 5'-11"' tall, thin build, small rear end, 155 lbs. with a 17cm3 prostate, not big, but enlarging against with an inflexible prostate capsule. Recently had urine retention for the first time in Dec., but alpha blockers helping somewhat now. My uro just diagnosed it as BPH. Uro said I should probably have a Urolift at some point. I frequently have painful congestion like prostatitis in my prostate that my primary care doc said might benefit from drainage due to prostate massage therapy. I tried it myself using my finger, but couldn't really get in there and do it right. I mentioned Aneros to my doc and he thought that one of the products would work. I've looked at all the products, but I'm still undecided.

Based on everyone's experience, which model based on my build should I pick?...SGX, MGX or Progasm Jr.? Or something else? I want to hit the prostate, but also I don't want to push it too much and hurt myself. I'm a newbie back there 😉

Thanks a lot!

Most are likely to recommend the Helix or Helix Syn. I'm personally not a fan of the Syn versions because I prefer firm contact with the prostate. I suspect that you may not have much experience with anal activity so obviously take it all slowly, and use lots of lube!

Since you've already broached the subject with your doctor, why not provide them with the specs on the Aneros of your choosing to get their opinion? Can't hurt to ask!

At your height, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them except the SGX, which was designed with shorter men in mind.

From the stories I've heard, once you've inserted your choice of aneros, you'll want to go very easy on yourself and not contract your PC or anal muscles much until you see how comfortable it is given the state of your BPH.

I can't speak from personal experience as I started using my aneros before I noticed any issues, as a preventive measure. However, I do recommend you drink plenty of water to help flush anything out that the aneros helps to release!

Good luck to you and keep us updated on your progress! You'll find lots of support here!

@Hdstache, your stats are same as mine, except age.. I do have BPH, some years ago I was told it was about the size of a lemon, but he never indicate if it was a large lemon or a small lemon! I have had wee problems, and I also have had Ej stress. I also notice that sitting in an easy chair cause wee problems.
Three years ago I started with an SGX but I think the MGX or classic helix might be better. One problem you may encounter is that the Aneros tends to slip to one side or the other of the enlarged prostate. Ideally it should stay centred but this may be difficult. I find the Progasm Jnr is right for my enlarged prostate it doesn't slip to one side. Lube is also important. It needs to suit your body. I use an Aneros most nights for most of the night.
Outcomes: I don't need to get up at night. I may chose to if I can't sleep. I can Ej with my partner without serious heart stress. I can wee comfortable during the day and volume is around 250ml (medium tumbler). I drink as much water as I want and a bit more to flush. I don't know if I evacate my bladder, but if a relax a bit more there is more. I take no essential medication for anything,
I attribute the continued use of the Aneros as the main contributing factor in my pelvic and general health. I do have most models and, yes like most of us, I look for special experiences, but I do remind myself that this Aneros journey was primarily for health, and secondly for wealth, happiness and wisdom.

Thanks Theme_Gasm and Isvrara…I appreciate the advice! I've gone ahead and ordered a Progasm Jr. Looked right to me and the doc thought it would be OK as long as I'm careful and take it slow. I'll be sure to keep well hydrated as well. Looking forward to anything that'll help clear that painful "blocked" feeling. It'll be a new experience for sure…who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? 🙂 Will let y'all know how it works...Hdstache

Congratulations on your decision to move forward with Aneros! I look forward to hearing how your sessions progress!

I would expect that your sessions will be of a healing nature with less focus on the orgasmic potential. However, if you start feeling pleasant sensations, please consider that you probably need to be gentle with yourself for a while just to be safe!

I've never heard of anyone hurting themselves by using the aneros as recommended, but understanding the full nature of your BPH and how it will react to the aneros is first priority!
