Tumblr will delete ALL adult material on Dec, 17!

This is sooo sad!
Spent yesterday's afternoon to find a back-up tool for LINUX systems.
I found: tumblr-downloader which is a small command line tool that lets you download any tumblr-blog.
I will miss my morning-coffee-tumbling routine badly! Always helped to get into the right mood 🙂
And I don't understand why they ban adult-content anyway. What is the big deal about it? Adult content (sexually explicit material) is all about people expressing their way of loving others or themselves. This seems not to be okay, while it's totally agreeable to show any bombing, shooting, hate-crime, etc. on the news. What a weird world!

I never "got" tumbler. How does it work? I may be tempted to venture to the adult sections, yet I just dont get it.

@lonewolf8, you only have to register once to create an account. Even trashmail-adresses are accepted. Perhaps you must opt out safety modus to view adult content.

@lonewolf8, tumblr is intuitive and easy to use. Unfortunately starting on Monday December 17, all pornographic posts featuring male and female genitalia will be banned on tumblr.:(

@lonewolf8 I never got Tumblr either. For me it seems like a jumbled un-navigable mess. ..It is a shame to hear about the change though. But I'm sure something will come along to replace it.

Is there no alternative to Tumblr? Is there porn on Instagram for instance?

I often (but really need to cut down) go to imagefap.com which lets you create a profile (i have one, you wont guess the name) and network with others and also upload pics and browse and create galaries etc.

You're the first in this thread who wrote it's "bad". I only wrote sad, because for several years tumblr has been a reliable ressource of pictured knowledge about the endless richness, variety and multiplicity of our sexuality mostly without any restrictions.

Without tumblr I doubt I would ever have stumbled upon the multiple riched band technique which has become a wonderful enhancement of my skills in self love and especially with edging.

While even nipple flashers and Old Masters now will be banned, all the racist and misantrophic really bad sites will stay and survive.

Please notce, that all that sexual content long since had been subscripted and all users first had to expressly declare they want include that content, before it would be shown to them.

May everybody judge for himself.

They first said they would soon offer an app, but didn't read anything more about it yet.

@BigGlansDC, thanks for your appreciation. Sadly some of the affectionately gathered and shared decent content I loved tumblr for will dissapear from the internet, because some people like this guy are so frustrated that they just give up their blog. What a pity!

I’ve been receiving many messages from folks sending kind words and asking where I’m going after the 17th. I’ve been at this for over 8 years now and have built up a large following with just over 125k (which I’m oddly proud of) and even recently expanded into a few other niche areas.
I’ve really enjoyed finding and posting the very best content on tumblr but I think this is my chance to retire my blog. Who knows, maybe you’ll see me again but I’m in no rush.

@SOwithoutAneros, I may have to do the same. I do not have the computer savviness as you and other people out there to make the migration of notable features of my Tumblr blog to a new porno friendly site that is free.

While I can understand the Tumblr's CEO concern about child porno, a concern I also share, and his desire to rejoin the App Store by banning all kinds of porno, I think this ban goes too far. It reflects the resurgence of sexual prudery here in the USA. Much of this sexual prudery is religious based. There is an open secret that in LDS (Mormon) dominant State of Utah, the viewing of porn is one the largest in the nation. Go figure!

From my point of view there is one and only a commercial interest for prudery. The more people are distracted from satisfying self-love and loving each other, the more they will consume. The less sex the fatter! IMHO religion can only too easily be misused to support this economic approach, like our Catholic preachers are abusing their choirboys. But hate and racism will survive on tumblr, hallelujah!

@BigGlansDC, „bdsmlr“ seems to be one refuge, some tumblr bloggers are leaving for. Another one is „sharesome“. And during the final countdown tapblr and timbr.xxx are running to the blogger‘s’ rescue.

Just took a short glance, sharesome seems to grow rapidly with increasing quality. Only have a look at the topic „wet“. :p
