Maybe I've been going at this wrong. I've been reading the thread that Old Wolf recommended about fine sanding the Aneros to make it even smooth but they repeatedly stated to NOT fine sand the stem as you need that area for traction.
Traction?!
Why would I need traction for the Aneros? I always got the impression that the Aneros had to slide back and forth within the anus in order to stimulate the prostate. Wasn't the Aneros supposed to be free to move as it needed to? To allow this I always went out of my way to make sure the Aneros had more than enough lube, even going as far as using silicone lube on the Aneros to make sure it never dried out at the stem location.
Am I going at this wrong? Do I need more grip on the stem location or does it need to be properly lubed so it can slide freely?
JayD,
The use of the term “traction” should not be confused with “friction”. Traction means to “pull or draw up”. Your Aneros device needs to be low in friction to allow traction to occur, hence the need for ample lubrication. Many users believe that a smoother surface is lower in friction and will thus lead to greater mobility and increased “traction”. The physics of all this can get pretty complicated, with friction coefficients, force vector analysis of the Aneros shape, mass and center of gravity affects on motion, etc. Suffice it to say, just stay well lubed and you will be fine, even with the factory finish.
Hi JayD!
I just keep ALL of mine slick and smooth as possible and keep them well lubed!
I HAVE used the almost grit free buffing pads mentioned in the Mods section about "sanding the Aneros"
on a few of my models, to make them smoother, tho!
The smoother and slicker, the more movement!
Any way, that's my take on it . . .
Later, Hlaser99
no need to spend $ on the buffing pads - just go to the drugstore and buy a super fine emery board - their grit is equivalent to 6000 grit sandpaper! I paid about $3 for one the other day and it worked fine.
Alright, so it would be ok for me to sand and smooth out the stem? I just don't want to ruin any of my Aneros.
