One of the problems I found with using oils was the rubber part of the plunger absorbing the oil, swelling, and then being useless.

I found a solution with a syringe that has a non-degrading "o"- ring. It has not rubbler so it does not absorb the oil. I have been using it for months without any signs of "dying"...

I got it at Walgreen's for $2.98...

I hope this helps those that would try coconut oil, if it were not for the rubber plunger problem...

virg, can you find the product online, and give a link?

by any chance does the nozzle extension sold on the aneros site fit into it proper?

I have no idea if it works with the nozzle extension...

Sorry for not adding an link earlier...

Hi all,

I got a similar one at the local Target Pharmacy. Works great. I've used it with Maximus, Probe and, Boy Butter with no problems. Best of all, it was free. I just asked the pharmacist for one.

nodak-

there is an important distinction being made here.

the one that we are talking about has an o-ring that does not degrade w/ oil based lubes.

all syringes work fine with maximus and probe (and boy butter h2o), because they are water based.

typically the ones available for free have a latex or rubber o-ring which degrade w/ oil based lubes.

if you look in the product description of the one at walgreens, it says "latex free" which is the difference.

Darwin,

The one I picked up at Target does not have a o-ring on it at all. It is a tight fitting plastic plunger which slides very smoothly with no leakage. I have used it numerous times with the original Boy Butter (not the H2O version) with no degradation what so ever. Just wanted to clarify.

Whether it is a "O"-ring, plunger, cap, plug, or whatever...the issue is whether it is made of either latex or rubber, or not.

Rubber and latex absorbs oil. How long that takes, depends on how often it is exposed to the liquid that contains the oil. The rubber will absorb olive oil (100% oil) a lot faster than Boy Butter (33% oil), but it will absorb it, and swell, and expand, until it will not fit the syringe any longer...

The syringe linked above is the ONLY syringe I have found that does not have ANY rubber, and I have tried a bunch.

Nodak, if yours does not have any rubber, you are lucky.

Hope that is helpful

I just picked up one of these also, and was also wondering about the nozzle extension. It seems that using the extension would make it easier to get the lube inside the anus.

Yes it does, I have this exact syringe from Walgreens. With some lube on the extension part, it is a nice wedge shape that goes in just far enough for good insertion with the plunger.

I haven't tested it with oil based lubes to check for degradation however.

I tried it with the extension last night. It worked great. I am a big believer in prelube now. It was very helpful with the Prograsm. The Prograsm fits more snug then the Helix and I was afraid I would run out of lube during my session, but no problem at all! When I pulled the Progasm out, there was plenty of lube left and it started running down my cheeks. But it was worth it!

i would be careful with that extension.

i believe its intended purpose is to extract liquid from a bottle, not inject.

the problem is that to get it deep enough into the anus so that the lube is all the way in, you might risk going too far, and getting the extension stuck in there.

That makes sense, you do have to be careful with it. I did wind up spilling some outside.

Just a thought guys but I was in Petsmart the other day and found an "oral syringe" for the pets that has about a 2" long soft plastic extension with about a 1" diameter flange where the syringe attaches so it goes deep enough to make internal lubracation easy but you can't go too deep and lose it. It's been working great for me so far. I guess the real test will be tonight. My Progasm just arrived and the damn thing is huge (gulp). Got a chuckle out of the package. It says "have courage".

Thanks for the tip (no pun intended). I never thought about checking the pet store. Is it similar to the one on this website? That applicator looks ideal.

I noticed that too on the package LOL! The Progasm was a little intimidating when I first saw it. It is way bigger than the Helix! I prelubed and didn't have any problem inserting it. I think it fits me better then the Helix. I can feel more prostate contact than with the Helix, though I would not describe it as intense. The re-wiring will come with time. I think the prelube defintiely helped. I got sore with the much smaller Helix when I did not prelube. When I pulled the Progasm out lube started running out, so there was plenty left.

Given the ongoing adventures in lube exploration it would be nice if Aneros could upgrade/redesign their supplied syringe:

a) to have a non rubber/latex plunger seal

b) to have a larger opening at the 'business' end so that warmed coconut oil is less likely to block the tip when it solidifies

c) to have an internal thread to match the external thread of the nozzle so that there is no possibility of the nozzle coming adrift from the syringe and "disappearing inside". Although I've never had mine disappear I have had it come adrift a few times mid injection. Messy! I'm sure that their wonderful manufacturers who do such an excellent job of reproducing their massager designs could cobble up a custom designed syringe, no?

Any thoughts?
