is there any supplements that exist to help increase libido? Thanks all
is there any supplements that exist to help increase libido?
The search for Aphrodisiacs has been going on since before recorded history. Numerous herbal supplements, animal derived substances and mineral/chemical compounds have at various times in history been touted as aphrodisiacs but there are still no scientific studies which have verified the efficacy of these substances. That doesn't mean that they don't have an effect, it just means they may have a limited effect on a few individuals. IMHO, any perceived effect from these substances is most likely due to the placebo effect, which can be very real itself. Perhaps the best supplement you can take is indulging your own imagination and fantasies for therein lies your libido, in the depths of your subconscious.

Coincidentally I started taking Maca powder yesterday. There are a few actual studies that have shown that it does increase libido when you ingest about 3 grams a day. I'll let you know if it does anything!
@rumel If you remember, zaneblue here was talking lots about Omega 3 / fish oils for increasing libido and sexual function.
@lonewolf8 , Yes, I am familiar with @zaneblue 's recommendation of high dosage Omega 3 fish oils, her recommendation, along with my own personal physician's recommendation for other reasons started me on daily intake of them. I do take the high dose she recommends but I can't really say it is a significant libido enhancer. Over the years I have tested various other suggested herbal compounds such as Maca, Yohimba root extract, Horny Goat Weed, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, L-arginine e.g. to little or no effect. I haven't tried some of the more exotic compounds like rhinoceros horn, nor would I for wildlife preservation reasons.
While some of these supplements/compounds may actually have beneficial body health effects (see These Are the Aphrodisiacs That Actually Work). In this respect dietary supplements which enhance/maintain good general body health will also help maintain good hormonal levels affecting moods and thereby your ability to become and maintain arousal (an essential aspect of libido).
I am still of the opinion that one's libido is more a matter of mental than physical processes as such dietary substances may not have much affect. There are a number of drugs which have mood altering effects which in turn will affect one's libido (both positively or negatively) but I wouldn't necessarily recommend one go that route without the guidance of a doctor as there may be significant negative side effects from their use. As I said in my original post above, developing and stimulating your own imagination/fantasies is probably the safest and most effective path to libido enhancement. Good Vibes to You !
maca and horny goat weed for sure! I find that mucuna pruriens helps out with prostate/anal stimulation. I get some really good, hungry feelings from my ass when I take mucuna. Honestly! I've experimented with mucuna for over 10 years now and for sure it makes things feel better, actually way better, when I have a session.
What dosage do you take, what time of day, between meals or with? What brand do you use?
I was refering to the mucana.
