I was reading the label on some new cooking oil we were trying. It is using avocado, veg oil and rapeseed oil mix. It states there are no artificial ingredients. Other ingredients include, thickener, emulsifiers and xanthan gum. It is one of those that come in a spray container. Of course I immediately wondered whether it might be worth trying as a lub. As long as there is nothing harmful in it I would try it. Apart from the risk of the oil being messy, is it worth a go?

I find all vegetable oils work well.

I would check what’s in the emulsifier s and thickeners. Usually lots of numbers that aren’t healthy. My recommendation is to use one type of vegetable oil with no additives, preferably organic.
