Should I bin the Progasm?

Hey everyone, been pondering this for a while.Using the Progasm might have done more harm than good — even if it was really good. Starting off, the model was alright, and had that noticeable fullness to it. Some sessions, that aspect came to great use. But at some point around Autumn 2012, my ass began having issues handling the Progasm; burning pain and generally uncomfortable feelings. Not only this, but my ass itself began to have issues! Constant itching, and passing stool would occasionally be painful, sometimes causing the ass to bleed.

Was it thrush? The cream didn't seem to work. How about haemorrhoids? Checked out there wasn't any. General damage? Perhaps.
The problem persists even today, though periods of constant itching is gradually less and less. (Possibly an allergy to certain washing powder/gels) Nonetheless, even though Aneros models has given me great times, I still occasionally like to try the Progasm. I think a switch up would still help now like it had before this whole problem.

There's still the aspect of Progasm typically being uncomfortable (at least for the first 15-20 mins) and an even bigger risk of damaging the ass — which still hasn't cured. On the other hand, maybe my ass just needs to adapt? So I'm wondering if maybe consistent use will put things back into place. What do you think?

I would think it might be a food allergy or maybe the lubrication you are using as opposed to the device causing your issues. Have you looked into that? If you were feeling uncomfortable after insertion I think you were rushing it a bit much. Anal play should never be painful. I know personally when using my progasm if I rush it, then it can be uncomfortable too.

Good point, I did actually stop using KY Jelly and have instead returned to water-based lube. Glycerin can cause a reaction, or so I read. Compounding the evidence is that I itch in the bridge between the PC muscle and right thigh — which is where the p-tab can end up if it slips from the centre. That could just be solely the tab, but I hunch that some lube ends up there as a result.

In terms of rushing, I'm not sure. Even if I go really slow, the ass will still be in pain from needing to open up.

I went through a very similar situation a few years ago. The only thing that fixed it was complete and strict abstinence from any anal stimulation for the best part of 2 months. Although it took me about 10 itchy months to figure that out. Every time the itching would fade away, I'd talk myself into trying anal stimulation again. And every time I set back my healing progress to zero. Sometimes coming back worse than it was before.

I never got what I had diagnosed, but I did spend a lot of time reading about anal fissures. You might need to get this looked at. Don't take any chances with this stuff, and don't risk making it any worse if you don't know what it is or how much worse it can get.

I can help with the itch. Put tea tree oil salve on your finger an smear it inside. Fixes anal fissures and itching in 1-2 days. 🙂

Oh.. And dont go for the strongest stuff (concentrated oil). That might "burn".. 🙂

Personally I've found the Progasm very fitting. It is very big though and requires careful use. That said, we are all different and maybe a Progasm Jr is simply a better option for you. Do you have other Aneros models, and if you do, do they produce similar negative side effects?

@Darkengine, I would give up the water based lubes and try something more natural like coconut oil or shea butter. Water based lubes can give some people all kinds of problems. For me the water based lube caused a purge feeling everytime I used it. This could also be the cause of the itching though stretching your anal spincter too much could also cause some itching. Maybe try taking your time when inserting and I mean like 15 minutes. I know it seems like alot of time but go slow and see how that feels, it should feel much more comfortable.

You may have piles related to hemroids. I dont know much about it but that will make you butt itch especially after using something big like progasm. Every now and then i get a flare up from using Vice.

Is it the size or the lube! Do you have any other model? Does it give you the same problems? Try to troubleshoot the problem by either using a smaller model or a very different lube. That might isolate your issue.

Personally, I do not like the progasm. Just too big. I purchased it early on when I was going through the initial questioning of why things weren't working, convinced I needed something bigger to trigger my Prostate. Couldn't have been more wrong. Eupho, peridise and Helix are my favorites now.

Anal fissure - that's the one I was trying to remember! That may be the case.Though I have abstained for a month (other reasons) — it'll probably take longer than two for me, but it'd be worth a shot regardless. Don't use Aneros all that often these days, either.

Thanks. Will see how that works out. TMI Warning: Actually, right now, the itching is exclusive to just the ass itself — thankfully there hasn't being any interior itches thankfully.

I do, and in some cases they do produce pain on initial insertion — albeit very briefly! That may be chalked up to excessive scratching/rubbing, though. I'll consider the Jr., though it feels like I've bought enough models by now.

Thanks, will consider slowing down the insertion in which case. I've read about natural lubes, though for me it feels like too much for an activity that's a quick spur-of-the-moment.

I checked up for haemorrhoids — and the doc didn't find any cases of it, neither externally or internally. Though now that you mention, pre-lubing I do feel little rough spots pass the passage that give a gritty feeling. (Such as passing large/rough stool)

It's probably the Progasm's size itself for me, though there wasn't any particularly issues with this until a year later or so which is why I'm suspicious. Like you, I enjoy the Eupho and Helix a lot!

Thanks for the input, all

@DarkEngine, natural lubes dont have to take any longer then what water based lubes take. For me, I just put some cocounut oil (solid at room temps) in a small plastic cup and microwave for 30 seconds and its ready to inject. I also coat the device in A&D ointment which seems to help with insertion and and the constant motion created around the anus. I would seriously give the natural lubes a try, they work much better and longer lasting then anything water based IMO.

It's definitely worth it, I'm so glad I'm relieved of it completely after having it annoy me for so long. Just to expand on my last post, I had almost exactly the same thing. Right down to skin around the outside being itchy. Though mine wasn't near the p-tab, it was still far enough out from the entrance that I questioned how it could possibly be a fissure (though there was internal itching too). I still don't know if it was, and I never had any bleeding. I suspect it was a fissure because it started after one night where I wanted to see how many fingers I could get in. [-( But for me, it wasn't healed until after I could take a few days worth of craps with absolutely no tightness or pinching feeling - this was the test I should have waited for, rather than paying attention to the itching only. I also started wetting the toilet paper before I wiped, and made a habit of being very gentle, almost dabbing rather than wiping, especially around the itchy/tender area.

It's hard to abstain that long, because there's always one crazy night where you really want it, I think I got into trying other things in that time, like erotic hypnosis and trying to distract myself away from prostate stuff. I fell off the wagon several times, probably the worst was getting reset after a whole month, but eventually I got so sick of it that I was able to adopt a "no way, I'm never going back to itching, fuck you, I won't do it" attitude that got me through. One of the other times I screwed up was thinking I could get away with using the Eupho because it was narrow, but it's not the girth so much as it is the friction and clenching.
