Shea Butter Problem????

I got some 100% unrefined African Shea Butter from Amazon. The first couple of times I used it, It was fine and the lubrication was great. But the last two times I used it, shortly into the session I got bad gas and the urge to purge. I used in conjuction with a little bit of water based lube that I have used before with no problems.
Anyone else ever have that reaction with She Butter?

nope... never an issue with unrefined shea or coconut oil. My sensitivity to K-Y and other glycerin based lubes didn't start from square one though. it took several months to develop.

Some foods seem to leave me with an "excess" of gas and colon mucus. That can affect a session with 'very tame' tame lubes like Vaseline or Crisco.

It's tough to give up on a lube combo that you really like. Particularly if there's a large bottle of it inside the toy cupboard. Suggestion... try the same lube combo again for a week or two and see what happens.

Try the SB by itself or with a bit of oil like almond or olive. I have had similar experience when I used SB and left some water inside after clean out.

I'm in Australia where "K-Y" may be different from its namesake in the US. Here KY gel is a water-based lube, not silicone.

I have never had a problem with the combination of KY gel and unrefined African shea butter, so there might be something else going on here. I feel sure that if you can obtain a lube which you can confirm is water-based, there should be no problem.

Could it be that you ate something that produced a purgative effect?

@rook @isvara @Pommie I was looking for a lube that lasted longer, was creamier and slick. Shea Butter works. I think isvara may have given me a clue. The residual water from the "cleanout." I didn't have any especially exotic foods. Turkey sandwich was it.
Here is what has worked well:
Probe Thick and Rich with a coating of Vaseline - Downside during long sessions or changing models you must reapply. This lube can get absorbed fast.
Inject Probe, apply thin coat of Vaseline and a thin coat of Astroglide Silicone. This works really well but the silicone is expensive. You don't use much.
A small amount of Probe, Shea Butter injected, light coat of Vaseline and Probe. This lasts a long time. I have taken a 45 minute break and had the Shea Butter still perform with a second session.
I used it for about 4 sessions with no problem and then all of a sudden I started getting the problems I described. I have taken a break from it and on Monday I may try my Shea Butter combo again fresh and see what happens.

i've been using gun oil silicone lately, stuff lasts forever. Though i think extra virgin olive oil works just as well and much cheaper.

@ineverknew how much Olive oil would you use? It seems like it would be rather messy.

@xtimedt69, yes extra virgin olive oil can be messy cause it has a yellow tint to it and as with other oils hard to clean out of sheets. i usually lay a towel down on the bed beforehand. Usually inject 5ml and just coat the helix or pro, which ever im using. I like the silicone's better cause they feel so slippery and squishy inside, its a really nice feeling. But functionally the EVOO is just as effective i believe.

@ineverknew I may try the Probe Thick and Ricch and coat the device with EVOO. Whe it do that with silicone it is very effective and not messy.

@xtimedt69, ive tried coating the device with a & d ointment, sort of like vaseline, and then using EVOO or silicone, didnt really seam to make a difference for me. So from now on, ill just coat with whatever lube im using, both seem to stick in the right areas and obviously dont dry up.

@swift,
Try injecting about 3ml water-based lubricant as a pre-lube before inserting the lubricated tool.

I stayed off the Shea butter for a week. Used it today. Within 90 minutes same problem. Gas and cramps. So something isn't right. Will stick with probe and Vaseline no problems but the probe dries up in about 90 minutes or so.

@xtimedt69,

It does seem that you have a reaction to shea butter. Sorry to hear about that.

I do find Vaseline a good substitute but it takes me a bit more of an effort to clean up so only use it when away from home.

@Pommie I dont understand why it take more effort to clean up vaseline. 1 wipe of each cheek and it clean.wrap a tissue around the aneros stem and wipe the device clean and one tissue around the tail and p tab.
Done. Maybe you are coating the vaseline to think.
Each to his own, just seemed strange to me. I tried oil and it was messier and it leaked out your bum afterwards to when walking around. Hmm maybe I used too much 😀

@Xtimedt69 if it dries up too quick then just insert more to begin with. I use 4ml to 5ml with vaseline and goes for hours even all night sometimes.

I have had success with Vaseline and Probe Thick and Rich. I have alos had success with inserting Probe then Vaseline and a light coating of either Olive oil or Astroglide and had no problms at all. So I will stick with what works. Now I have to find a use for a tub of Shea Butter.

@xtimedt69 Shea butter use.1. Insert aneros in yourself using your prefered lube.
2. Get one piece of large plastic. Say 2.5 metres x 2.5 metres.
3. heat shea butter to luke warm temp
4. place plastic on carpeted area maybe in front of the fire place if cold.
5. Grab one nude wifey and nude up yourself.
6. Lay wifey down on plastic
7. Pour shea butter all over wifey and then proceed to rub yourself all over her and get all messy.
Shea butter from head to toe.
8. Make love till you can not go any more
9. then put your thongs on (flipflops to you Americans) and walk to the bathroom
10. shower together till clean.

Shea butter all used up and in the process you have buttered up your wife. Bet she will melt during the process.

11. get on the forum and thank Braveneworld for the idea.
