Hi,

I have the aneros helix now for about 2 months and had about 15 sessions with it. The highest ‘level’ I obtained was some pleasurable feeling in my anus/rectum. I also had some other experiences I like to share and where I have questions about.

I tried different positions and the most successful for me is a doggy style position with my arms on the bed. I also tried the sitting one with feet flat on the bed and the foetus alike where you lie on your side with legs up to your chest. The last one gave me the best awareness of my prostate.

In 3 or 4 of my sessions I got some slight amount of precum after some pleasurable contractions with a swollen prostate in the doggy style position. However, I am not able to obtain this anymore. This precum was only obtained after my penis got erected for a short moment during the contractions. My heart beat also went up.

Something very interesting I discovered is how to get a swollen prostate. If I contract my PC muscles about 100 times or more (if you contract these, you can hold your pee), my prostate always swells. As a result of this, the aneros is sucked into my anus and the tab is pressing against my perineum. However, I’m not able to experience then something more than just some slight pleasurable feelings.

When I am in the sitting position with my feet flat on the bed and I pushes the aneros slightly in and out, I am sometimes able to experience a pleasurable tingling at my anus. When I am in this position and I get slight pleasurable feelings in the anus/rectum, my penis get erected for a short moment. However, these pleasurable feelings don’t last long and generally I only can obtain this pleasurable feeling/erection experience once during a session.

The lube I use is some Vaseline combined with vaginal lube. I read that a good lubrication is very important and maybe in some sessions I didn’t use enough lube.

I always try to be comfortable when I’m doing the exercises and not to worry about getting results. I tried a lot of things I read on the forum like holding contractions for about 15 seconds and then release again, breathing in when I contract and breathing out when I release. However I do not get at a point where I experience pleasure waves or big O’s. I don’t experience involuntary muscle contractions either although I try to tire my pc muscles or sphincter muscles by holding contractions for a long time.

Can you please give some comments on these experiences and what I might do wrong. I always can get to a point where my prostate is swollen and sucks the aneros inside. I think this might be a good platform for the next level. I think also that I should be able to get involuntary muscle contractions before I can experience something new.

Hi skeita,

Welcome to the Aneros Forum,

Many new users upon initial use of their massagers often think "It's not working...” or “I'm not feeling anything, maybe I'm doing something wrong...” etc. The truth is, you are probably doing nothing wrong per se. It can often take some time (unfortunately indeterminate) to awaken your prostate, with each session you are providing healthy massage benefits to your prostate and learning a bit more about your body's response. From your description of experiences, I think you are progressing just fine and have a good attitude.

However, I did detect a slight incongruity in your post when you said, ”The highest ‘level’ I obtained was some pleasurable feeling in my anus/rectum.” and “I am sometimes able to experience a pleasurable tingling at my anus.”, but then later discounted that with “However I do not get at a point where I experience pleasure waves or big O’s.” Actually, I think you are experiencing pleasure waves, they are just very subtle at this point. I think many new users, upon reading of others glowing experiences, have created expectations (some of mythic proportion) in their minds for what constitutes pleasure waves. The simple fact is any sensation that is pleasant is a pleasure wave (see WIKI - Glossary), sure, they can range in intensity and duration (amplitude & frequency), but if it is pleasant, it is a pleasure wave.

Your last statement, “I think also that I should be able to get involuntary muscle contractions before I can experience something new.” may be setting limits in your mind to further progress. Being open to all the many feelings your body will generate is important, there is no set sequence for these feelings to occur. While involuntaries are usually indicative of orgasmic states, they are not mandatory conditions. You can quite easily “...experience something new.” before experiencing involuntaries. You may already be experiencing 'involuntaries' and just not recognize them because of their subtlety. Like P-waves 'involuntaries' can range in intensity from a minute pulse to a full cramp.

My basic 'rule of thumb' is for you to follow the pleasure, let your body cue you in the direction to practice. When you experience pleasurable sensations, make a mental note of what you are doing at that moment, how your body is feeling overall, what your mental state is, these are the conditions your body wants to be in to generate pleasure for you.
