I was wondering what the zero is with an arrow up and down above and below it that displays to the left of all posts here? Does this have something to do with the sort by votes button? Sort of like giving a thumbs up or down to a post? And what does this do to the post besides possibly giving the user an option to sort the posts in a thread by votes?
I'm also wondering if there is a way to add tags to a thread after it has already been created? Does this help the forum search engine find relevant posts? If this is the case, it would certainly help, as the search here in the forum has always been a bit lackluster in it's results.
You're exactly right Love_is. You can choose to rate each poster's comment in a thread. I like this new a lay out a lot. Did we lose the chatroom? 🙁
I do notice that it's a lot harder to tell which thread has new posts, and how to classify them as read.
Anybody know how?
@Badger: Click on DISCUSSIONS on the top of the forum to list all the latest discussions. You will see all the announcement discussions at the top which can be dismissed after you've read through them by mousing over the thread and clicking on Options>Dismiss.
The discussions under the announcements are most recent. You should see a message in read that will say something like 7 NEW This is the number of new comments since your last visit to that discussion.
@ArticWolves,
The chatroom is not lost, CT posted in another thread that it will be rejoining us soon. From what I understand it will be new and improved version as well. Something to look forward to!

Thanks for the answer regarding votes.
Here's another observation...
I notice that the new forum here is constantly using bandwidth while I'm signed in. Unless this is particular to my setup, this is not a good thing for users or HIH/Aneros. Anyone with low bandwidth caps, particular mobile smart phone users, could be negatively effected by this. And HIH/Aneros will likely be paying for extra server bandwidth that they would otherwise not have to.
one thing i miss in this new layout is that the list of threads does not show who started the thread and when.
@D,
I concur with you on this. While the identity of the author is apparent once one enters the thread, I appreciate knowing that upfront. There are quite a few thread authors that I've been following over the years consistently, seeing that information on the General Discussion page has facilitated that.
Another feature that I will miss is the quotation button. This allowed one to include the text of any respondent to a thread as a part of your response.
None of these are huge issues for me, but if it were possible to make these changes, I'm pretty certain they'd be appreciated by others as well!

The one about quotations is a big one with me. I think i have cut and pasted sometimes to do this.
When i receive a pm a number shows up next to my inbox notation on the bar at the top of page, and next to my id. When i click on either the new pm comes up. i'm not sure if the number is then deleted from both places, but i'm thinking not. Have to open it again from the other location. For some time now when i have none left after my id, i still have one next to inbox, and i can't find out which old message it is to get the number deleted. I guess i wud just have to start opening pm from there and open each one. Once it is opened the number will disappear. Again no big deal, but it is the pile of little irritations in life that can build up to a heavy burden. LOL
I'm concerned about the Facebook "Like" button. Not only does it cause the page to be seen as "insecure" by Chrome, it's a potential information leak. I myself have never had a Facebook account.
