So I tried my MGX last night for the first time. Total flop...

Anyway, the biggest problem was after about 10 minutes of *trying* to relax with it in, the p tab became uncomfortable...

any suggestions for newbies?

By "trying" do you mean that you couldn't relax? I've rarely heard of (or personally experienced) the p-tab being uncomfortable, unless the tab is driven deep into the tissue by a sustained contraction / tension of the muscles. 😕

Were you in a position where the body weight is set upon Aneros (usually sitting)?

I was lying on my side.....it didnt become uncomfortable until about 10 mins into it when I began experimenting with contractions...

The tab itself seemed to be digging ....

Any suggestions on blunting the ptab or someting similar? maybe a cotton ball?

yes, I was having problems relaxing...

I always use the round cotton stuff woman use to remove make-up, and put that under the p-tab, feels very comfortable that way. 😉

The Wiki has several suggestions. The rubber bulb from a mediciine dropper worked well with my Helix. The p-tab on the MGX is larger so the cotton ball might work better.

Suggestion: Treat this as a temporary issue. As I gained PC muscle mass there was less 'dig.' Give it a couple of months.

OK. First time. Remember that this takes TIME! You would be among the very luck few who ever have any kind of success on their first outing. Patience, man, patience.

While the overall use of the MGX or any Aneros model takes a bit of getting accustomed to, it really shouldn't be painful. Regardless of you physical position, except perhaps for sitting in a chair, you should have no pain using an Aneros. Whether you're on your back, side or front, it should be comfortable having it inserted. Having said that, I, too, found that the p-tab on the MGX is not very user friendly.

First thing to try is to modify its (the p-tab's) position. You do this by gently heating the connecting bit with a heat gun, even a hair dryer will work, and then bend the p-tab SLIGHTLY up, away from the body of the MGX. This will give it a bit more room and reduce the pressure on your perineum. BE CAREFUL, once the plastic is warm, you can EASILY bend it too far or out of alignment.

Second, and maybe something to try first, actually, is to take a kleenex and double it over a few times and slide it under the p-tab after you have inserted your MGX. This will cushion the tab a little and give you some relief from the pressure. You're not the first to feel this.

You may want to do both, cushion and bend the tab back, as the extra padding of the kleenex may cause the toy to pivot too hard against your prostate area. Trial and error will be needed to get it right for you.

Finally, you may want to try a Helix. It's a bit longer, and fits me better, btw, and the p-tab is shaped differently and IMHO is more comfortable all around.

Overall, as I said before, this is about pleasure, not pain. If you're experiencing any pain, any pain at all, then stop. Figure out what the problem is before you continue. Seriously.

Good, luck, madness, and hang in there. Please read the Wiki thoroughly, as there are many, many tips in there regarding your use of this wonderful toy. As I and many others will tell you, this takes time, practice and patience. It's worth the work, believe us.
