Hey community- always enjoy reading tips and insights here thanks for all the knowledge. I’m 35 yes old and I’ve been on the Aneros journey a year now. Ive been lucky to really go deep and experience all kinds of super O’s. I’ve become completely rewired and am so in touch with myself which is something I feel grateful for!

A few times I’ve been in a real good super O moment I’ve experienced the hands tingling and then some slight numbness to a degree that felt a bit worrisome...which caused me to stop the session. I’ve read from others that this happens sometimes, but I’m a hypochondriac haha so I start to worry. Is there any damage to the nervous system when we are stimulating our prostate to orgasm? I’d imagine our bodies are aware that an internal organ is being highly stimulated but I wonder if there’s any scientific understanding around how it impacts our nervous system, long term. Maybe there isn’t. But thought why not throw it out there!

I don't think there has been any scientific study about this but my intuition tells me there is nothing to worry about. Considering that prostate massage has been practiced for thousands of years, if there were any danger of incurring nerve damage I think we would have heard at least some anecdotal reports about it in our forum or from historical records. IMHO, the use of these massagers, hands free, in accord with the manufacturer's directions is about as safe a practice as one can devise. However, injuries or other harmful effects can arise from too vigorous or forceful a massage provided by other means, especially if combined with some other latent prostate condition. Please see the Safety paragraph in the Aneros WIKI.

@Keepitcummin , Aneros use and the various types of orgasms and other sensations do affect the human brain. Conditioning and neuroplasticity are two terms you may wish to google.

Here is a link to a post i started on neuroplasticity: https://community.aneros.com/community/general-discussion/neuroplasticity-the-science-behind-rewiring

NO, I certainly have not read any reports of Aneros (or any sex toy for that matter) changing the body's nerves or causing shingles. However, it is theoretically possible that an unwashed, nonsterile, shared sex toy could be a transport vehicle for the shingles virus, but the device itself would not be a cause.
