There's a tutorial here somewhere on how to polish things like the classic Aneros/HIH models to get that smoother, glossy feel like the Progasm has. But that's for hand polishing. Anyone done it with a dremel? How?

Actually there are several threads which describe various methods for polishing 'Classic' Aneros models. I've experimented with mechanical buffing to polish these models and it does work but you need to be very careful to avoid overheating and melting the surface. Use a light touch with a cloth wheel and appropriate buffing compound suitable for plastics. I think the manual method is the safer route to go if you really feel the need to develop a glossy surface. Personally, since I prelube with a suppository, I don't feel the added polishing significantly improves performance mobility when the rectum is well lubricated. Other members have found the polishing to provide increased performance mobility, the only way to know is to perform the procedure and try it out. I don't think polishing will harm the performance unless you accidentally melt some of the body surface and alter the surface smoothness with dimples/depressions. Good Vibes to You !

Lube or no lube, I'm really very sensitive to "uneven" surfaces. The first time I used the Peridise, it felt scratchy and made me sore, and I couldn't figure why. I ran my fingertip over it and found a barely noticeable "seam" of casting sprue all the way along the length of it. The HIH 950 has it too, and even to my fingertips the surface feels perceptibly rough.

So is polishing better than lube ? Advantages or disadvantages ?

It's supposed to make lubing better. You don't replace one with the other
