Peridise - Which is it?

Like you, I find the Aneros marketing of the Peridise models confusing and have never been able to understand why the largest (22mm) and second smallest (18mm) models are sold as "Beginners" while the second largest (20mm) and the smallest (16mm) models are sold as an "Advanced" set.

My advice would be to visit the High Island Health (HIH) site at where you will find an explanation of how the four models interact. HIH calls them "Peristal" but they are exactly the same as the Aneros "Peridise".

I actually bought the complete set direct from HIH and followed their instructions for the use of them, with the predicted results. My advice to you would be to do the same.

Both Pommie and I have communicated with Aneros support regarding this conflict. Pommie has been more definitive in his explanations than I. Both of us have adopted a path of little resistance. I turned out to bit of a 'size-queen' and have adopted the 22mm toy as the all-round fave for myself and gave the 18mm to my wife. Pommie just jumped into the pond and bought the whole 4-toy set. My best guess is that the old packaging (circa 2009) 'straddled' the sizes (Beg. = 22 & 18), (Adv. = 20 & 16). Early last year (2011) posts by several users seemed to indicate that the packaging of the 2-toy sets had changed to that described on the 'store page.'

I have no suggestions other than purchasing from a retail store where you can see what you are getting or just buy the whole 4-toy set.

I should have added that I used the largest one first until I was completely comfortable with it (a few weeks), before progressing to the 20mm one and eventually settled with the third (18mm) one, which is now my favourite. Although I have used the smallest one a few times, I find myself returning to the 18mm model.

You might have to experiment over a period of a few months before you find the one that seems to be the best fit for you.

This is a little bit off topic, but I thought I would throw this in the dialogue. I am a confirmed peridise user. I prefer the larger ones. The funny thing that happened to me though is that when I got my tempo I pretty much stopped using the peridises. I love the weight of it. To me its not so much the size that makes a difference as the heft of it.

I really enjoy the the smaller Peridise. I hit a calm period a while back and I give it credit for starting things up again. For me, this is the one that really causes the body shaking. I switch to it from the others for variety. The marketing did seem confusing to me too.
