Sorry, am newbie. Haven't even received MGX but am wondering if regular(?) use of Aneros (with lubricant) might also have added benefit of strengthening weak(ening) pelvic floor muscles (not sure if they have any other 'official' name, but I hope someone knows what I'm talking about.) Sadly, am only 53 but already experiencing some erectile dysfunction and, more bothersome, occasional incontinence. Doctor says do not have enlarged prostate; or at least, 'no more than is normal for married man of my age'.

Thanks people! Feels awkward/funny putting such highly personal info out there into the virtual public, but I know this is confidential/anon and believe will get honest feedback after reading other Q&A. But please be kind!

goodguy-

is the doctor a urologist? if not, i think you should probably go see one. this kind of thing is their bread and butter. about the incontinence, do you have urgency or just leaking?

yes, the aneros will definitely tone these muscles. depending on the cause of your erectile dysfunction, it may well help there. in my case, my erections are 30 years younger than i am. but there are many causes for ED. there are also many causes for incontinence, muscle tone being only one of them. urgency can be treated with targeted alpha blockers, such as detrol, that relax the detrusor. also there are "biofeedback" techniques that help you relax your detrusor naturally.

in sum, these are complex medical conditions that require an accurate diagnosis to set a path to management.

i wonder why your doc said that your prostate size was normal for "a married man"? what does marriage have to do with it?

Here's some info on Kegels: http://www.aneros.com/forum/kegels-t4368.html?highlight=kegel

Some guys are adverse to Kegels but they work for me.

I recommend you read a book by Eric Franklin about the Pelvic Floor. Sorry, I don't have the exact title, but google and you should find it, and yes the aneros will definitely stengthen your pelvic floor.

Thanks hula and rook for the link and the suggestions. The urgency issue comes and goes, sometimes it's a problem for a few days and then it's not. I don't know what the pattern is, although I've tried to figure that out; there is leakage, too, and that's fairly typical. So I guess both but the latter more than the former. I'm curious about the 'biofeedback techniques'?

The doctor (GP) made the remark during my annual physical exam. What I think he was getting at about the comment 'for a married man' was about his opinion I guess that if you have sex on a regular basis, that helps the prostate stay slim and healthy. (Assuming that if you're married you're having sex on a regular basis.) I don't know if that's true or not and I don't know why that would be any different than masturbation.

Actually, will using the aneros as directed have any health benefits for my prostate or is it basically that it gives you a good orgasm?
