Forum Guests, Members and the Aneros Community,

As of this time (Wednesday evening), RITA, a category 5 hurricane is bearing down on the Gulf Mexico. The present track of this storm shows a high probability of impacting the southeastern Texas coastal region, which includes the city of Houston, ...the city that's home to HIH the manfacturer of the Aneros.

I hope you will all join me in keeping some good thoughts for these good people and their families.

To Leslie, Adam, Jero, Doctor and Nurse Funk and everyone at HIH...TAKE CARE!!

Sincerely,

BF Mayfield

P.S. Their server is NOT located anywhere near Houston, so the forum should remain up and running regardless of any power outages that may occur as a result of this storm.

B Mayfield, Tom, and Mu1ti,

Thank you for the kind words! At the moment we are doing fine, and hopefully are far enough inland to avoid the brunt of the hurricane, though there will be some very heavy winds and rain coming our way. As B Mayfield wrote, our servers are located away from Houston and this website and forum will be up throughout, so keep the great dialog going! We definitely know from Katrina what type devastation an event like this can bring, and we have taken the proper measures to make sure that we will make it through safe. Our thoughts are with everyone displaced from Galveston. See everyone on the other side.

UPDATE:

In Houston at least, the effects of Hurricane Rita were much less than most people were predicting. There were strong but manageable winds and some rain, but by and large, the damage was minimal. We are all safe and truly appreciate your thoughts! Our offices will be open on Monday.
