I has my second aneros session two days ago. I allowed 15 minutes to relax after insertion. As i started to contract slightly, i felt a mild pain. I can only guess its preasure on my prostate. The pain isnt extremly bad but it is more of a discomfort than a pleasure. I continued on more about 20 more minutes but it didn't really go away. I got impatient and stroked myself until ejaculation with the aneros still in. It was the fist time i ejaculated in 9 days (9 days is rare for me as i am 19 years old).

Following my session I was extremely sore. The soreness feels like its inside instead of my sphincter. I still feel some soreness 60 hours later. Is this unusual? could i have put too much strain on my prostate? Im kind of concerned?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hi Pseudonut,
I went through the same thing. Over did it the first few times and was sore for a couple of days. You will get no results at all while your sore so I would just hold off for a few days and take it slow until you get used to it. Be sure to use plenty of lube. Good Luck!

Did you lube up very well? Since this is only your second session I think feeling some soreness during the session is probably normal. However, I think it is unusual to feel sore "60 hours later". I think you should definately discontinue the use of your Aneros until you have been pain free for several days. Then make sure you lube up very well (5ml of lube inserted in the anus + generous amount of lube on the Aneros) before use. Also, I really think you should consider seeing your physician prior to using the Aneros again. You could have an enlarged prostate or a rupture in your rectum or any number of other things going on. I realize you are only 19. So chances are you are fine. However, its best not to take any chances. Be safe 😉

Hi pseudonut,

What position were you in? If the handle presses into the bed from lying on your back then that can cause some discomfort and soreness and put too much pressure on the prostate. When I first started, I found that I couldn't lie on my back very long without feeling discomfort. Putting a small pillow under your lower back will allow you to stay on your back and ensure that the Aneros handle does not touch the bed.

If you were lying on your side or some other position, some mild soreness can be expected if you are not used to anal play and you used strong contractions. Note that during the masturbation part of the session, you could have been clenching more, unwittingly, than during the Aneros part of your session.

If you normally ejaculate every day or so and abstained for 9 days, then it's possible that your prostate had built up more fluid than usual and would make it a little tender.

Lubrication is also very important and too little can lead to soreness.

After 60 hours the soreness should be mostly gone. If it's still near the same level as it was previously, then I'd check with your doctor.

I'd also follow the advice of the other posters and abstain from using your Aneros until you are pain free. Trying to have an Aneros session while in pain or feeling discomfort is no fun.

I hope this helps. Keep us posted on your progress,

Onthepath

I definately found this to be the case early on with the Helix. I had not yet adopted the ID Glide / Vaseline combination. Giving it a rest for awhile is definately the ticket. Arriving at a lube or combination of lubes that works for you is key.

I am currently in pain for a different reason. I spent several consecutive days with the Progasm and the Excel. The Excel was really too aggressive for me and caused some discomfort during and now some days after the experience. I may never use the Excel again, but I may change my mind. It seems to really apply a lot of pressure frontally. It also does not feel as natural and "ergonomic" as the Progasm does. My feeling about the Excel is that it is less of a medical device and more of a toy.

I had also failed to initially polish the Excel as has been advised here for some of these devices. The surface of the Excel is very rough compared to the Aneros products. I have prepared both with the rubbing compound and await the return of my arse to a healthier state. I am going to be much more respectful of my body in the future.

I am also a hemorroid sufferer, and have recently purchased the Peridise. I hope to be well enough to give it a go next week...

Thanks for all your responses.

I am still in some discomfort. I now realize that it isn't really pain but it feels like my rectum is swollen. I feel like i have to poop, but its all the time, even after i have a bowel movement. Its extremely uncomfortable.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I am leaving town for a few days but if I am still in discomfort by the start of next week then i will go in to see the doc. javascript:emoticon('') I am not looking forward to that and i hope it will go away naturally. Its been 3 days now.

I am definitely going to hold off on the aneros in the mean time.

Megabyteme: I used plenty of lube. I agree with you that it might be a good idea to see the doc. I am going to wait it out for a few more days.

Onthepath: For the majority of my session I was on my side. The pillow is a good idea when i venture onto my back. Thanks

Thanks everyone for your responses. It really helps to know I am not alone. I will be sure to keep you all posted.

I would not advise you to avoid medical attention, but...

I am finding in my own case that hemorroidal suppositories, ibuprofin, and mastrubation to aleve pressure, (surprisingly helpful) combined with complete abstinance from the Aneros is turning out to be a winning combination. I am expecting a week or two total to get back to form, but I can tell I am headed in the right direction.

Just relax, mentally embrace that part of of your anatomy and direct some good healing vibes down there.

Best to you,
The Lone Rider

While I would normally advice to be completely honest with your physician, but if you are so embarrassed that it would keep you from seeking medical advice... I think you could tell a little white lie. You could tell you physician that you were constipated for a few days from eating a lot of cheese and other unhealthy foods... You can even tell him that you stuck you finger up there at one point to try to stimulate a bowel movement and it really hurt when you did that... tell him that you improved your diet and you no longer have constipation but you are concerned about some discomfort that is not going away. Basically you will get the same type of examination but with less embarrassment.

well i am back from my trip and I seem to be much better now. it just kind of went away on its own. i did go to they doctor before my trip. She (yes she) didnt know what the problem was but prescribed antibiotics in case. I didnt take them as my symptoms seemed to go away on its own, after about a week.

megabyteme: thanks, that is a good idea, i could have saved myself a lot of embarrassment

What i want to know is: Should i try my aneros again?
i am afraid to, fearing they same discomfort will come back as i do not know what the problem was
i used plenty of lube.

could it be a reaction to the lubricant i used? i used Maximus.

thanks,
donut

I have never had any problems using the Aneros, so it is hard for me to comment on the problems you encountered, but I would think that your doctor would be best to ask about your personal situation. There is no need to be embarrassed when talking with your doctor - everyone should always be open and honest with your health professionals. Good luck.

As a health care professional, (but I hold no responsibility for giving advice over the internet - you should get advise from your doctor) I can only tell you that the general rule for these sorts of things is: "If it hurts, don't do it." That is most likely the advice you will be given by your health care professional in this case. Along with that you should have a rectal exam to make sure you do not have any abnormalities that could be causing a problem. I personally think that this may have been a fluke. I think you should avoid the aneros for a couple more weeks to make sure you are fully healed up. Then make sure you lube up well. Make sure that you insert and remove the aneros very gently as this is when you are at risk for tearing your rectum. Maybe just have a short session of less than 15 minutes. If that causes a problem again, I'd say you should discontinue use all together until you have had a thorough exam. If it doesn't cause any discomfort, just have a couple short sessions a couple days a week for awhile. Again, you are much better off getting this advise from your doctor.
