Hi everyone!   It's nice to be able to communicate with everyone after this long recess.

So far, I really like what I see.  What do you think of the new format and functions?

@Ggringo, the refurbished site has a nice feel about it, and typing posts and replies seem to be easily. However, I looked in vain for the PM section. I guess that went away with the site redesign.

It looks ok. Would be nice if there was more than 10 thread lines per page. Replying is defanatly easier. I had also made a thread wondering where the pm box went to.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the feedback - the PMs are an add-on apparently.  We will work to get that installed in the very near future.

Thanks for the update and good work.

Who would I talk to about my blog. Since the site went sideways a few months back my blog is no longer linked to my user name. When I try to access it it tells me unable to access or something like that.

Awful, wonder how long it will be untl this site goes down or is hacked again. They need better people working behind the scenes. Forum has been down for many months, very poor.

@theeagleandwolf you just joined the forum on Jan 29 of this year, yesterday, and your first post is to criticize the Aneros team?  Yes, it took a while to solve issues but I can tell you they worked hard to give us a better arena of discussion.   Having witnessed what they have done to help their customers over the last 4 years, I assure you they do care.

If you stick around long enough, you just might see what I'm talking about.

Good gibes to you.

All my posts from before the forums crashed are now marked as being from Anonymous, and my original username is no longer recognized. Other than that, I’m glad to be able to communicate here again. No opinion yet in the new software, though I’m surprised that a major company like Aneros is using Wordpress platform.

@alpinista55alpinista55 try to use your old username and reset your password.   You might be lucky to retrieve your history.  Good luck.

Thanks to the team for getting this up and running again- it is a fun and useful forum. It is much faster and easier to navigate but  would like to see you use a larger and bolder font- these old eyes have trouble with the smaller font.

Onward and upward!!!

@theeagleandwolf I did not mean to offend you with my comment.  I'm also a member since 2016. Aneros and this forum has changed my life for the better.

As for your lost username and posts, it would be a shame to loose everything you wrote since your inception.   Maybe aneros support can help you retrieve everything as they have done for me and a few others.

It's hard to tell when I haven't posted a lot yet, but as far as usability there aren't any glaring differences so I have no complaints.  It might be helpful to have a "Welcome Back" instruction page to help old users transition to the new platform, with whatever new features there are listed, as well as instructions for setting up profiles, personalization, things like that. For instance, when logging in on the old forum it didn't recognize my email, only my username.  When getting onto the new forum I didn't realize that my login for the shop site is now linked to the forum, and I tried for 10min to make a new account, finally resetting my password before figuring out how to log in.  It was a lot of needless frustration that could be mitigated by a helpful info page about the site transition.

One thing I'd like to be able to change in my account is the date code and I don't know how.  It's a small thing, but looking at the European style with the day before the month throws me off a bit, it would be nice to have the option to switch that to American style, if possible.

Another suggestion/question, I miss having notifications and this probably falls under the category of the messenger, but @aneros team I don't know if that will tag you, or whether you'll know I tagged you.  If someone quotes me in a reply or tags my name for attention I'd like to know.

Also I second the suggestion for a more easily readable size or font as automatic.  I just tried a post at 14pt instead of 12 and like it, but when adding more paragraphs I had to manually change to 14pt.  A lot of unnecessary scrolling but also frustrating because the first few paragraphs didn't have that problem, it came up after I'd written half the post!

I'm trying to upload my avatar but it does not work.  I notice some were successful in doing so.  How?

I'm trying to upload my avatar but it does not work.  I notice some were successful in doing so.  How?

I saved a pic (off fb maybe?), cropped to a square in MS Paint and uploaded.  I don't know if compression/file size makes any difference, but how large is your picture, is it a jpg, those are my first questions.

edit: speaking of avatars, having a circle is stupid, there's just wasted space in the corners of pic you can't see and is purely a design choice that seems to be a fad now because FB did it.  Just railing against things I can't change.

Alright I can think of a few more things.

-I was going to just edit my previous post from last night but there seems to be a time limit on when you can do that.  Was that on purpose?

-People just signing up or coming back from the old forum have their email addresses prominently displayed in their profile as their username.  That is possibly a security issue, and speaking for myself I don't necessarily want this part of my life bleeding into the rest of it.  The world just isn't ready yet.

-Looking at the main general discussion page every topic is basically the same, and there is no easy way to click on an individual page if a topic has multiple pages.  I can see the benefit of knowing more quickly which threads are popular and being able to click any page of one from the main forum site.

Happy to have you back!! My overall impressions are positive for using in afull-blown PC browser , not quite as positive in a a smart device browser.

It's very nice, but stil needs a bit of work, especially with regard to username/password issues.

- Thanks for the new look on the front-end, and security on the back-end - guys!

Interesting - I tried to correct spelling & formatting issues, but I couldn't. Perhaps something for the Aneros IT team to explore?

I think there's a 5min time limit to edit, but I haven't clocked it.

edit: they've fixed that, I'm writing this on 02/12/20.  Thanks guys!

Divine Oblivion here.  Site looks nice, however I have had no luck with my password or old username, and it doesn't recognize my email address to restore the old password. Any ideas?

Yes, click on the red 'Chat' button on the bottom right side of your screen and send a msg to @support with details of your lost username and they should be able to retrieve it and reset your password.

Good luck

Happy the forum is back up.  Hate the  faint thin grey lettering font for posts....giving me a headache.   I see I can change the font and size and bold at the top of the response window... Where can I do those adjustments for all my viewing .

I second this, I try to zoom in hoping the font would bolder, but it won't
