I have prostatis and purchased the MGX to relieve it. I have used the device 2 times, the first time I had what looked like pre-cum coming from my penis. The second time there was no discharge. I have tried lying on my side and the laying on my back with legs drawn up and feet flat. I use the anal contraction technique (is this supposed to be automatic or do as I am doing and making the contractions) and controlled breathing, is there something I am failing to do or is that all that I should be expecting from the use of the MGX ?

Hi tiger13,

Welcome to the Forum,

In response to your question - “(is this supposed to be automatic or do as I am doing and making the contractions)”, initially, you are consciously making contractions of the three primary muscle groups involved (rectal, anal sphincter and PC). As arousal heightens and muscle fatigue sets in, involuntary contractions may begin. This is one indicator of the onset of orgasm. As you rise into full orgasmic phase the spasms/contractions are more or less automatic, just attempting to maintain a low level contraction is all that is usually necessary to sustain the cyclic involuntaries.

Prostate massage (myofascial trigger point release) is one of the treatments for Category III prostatitis and the Aneros massagers can accomplish that. Some men experience copious discharge of their Cowper's gland (pre-cum) from Aneros use, others very little. There is no particular significance to this phenomenon other than to demonstrate men's individual differences.

Many new users upon initial use of there massagers often think "It's not working...” or “I'm not feeling anything, maybe I'm doing something wrong...” or “I thought this thing was supposed to blow my mind in orgasm...” etc. The truth is, you are probably doing nothing wrong per se. Having only used the device twice you have barely introduced the Aneros to your body. It can often take some time (unfortunately indeterminate) to awaken your prostate, but you can be assured that with each session you are providing healthy massage benefits to your prostate.

Your last question- “...is that all that I should be expecting from the use of the MGX ?” is the vexing one. Expectations have a way of disappointing new users, my advice is typically to drop all expectations and learn to experience what your body has to offer. While reading of the experiences of others is interesting, the problem is that is their experience, not yours and yours is going to be unique for you. There may be similarities but no two users will really travel the same path in their journey of self discovery.

What positions are you finding that you have the greatest success with the ANEROS.
Your input would be greatly appreciated.

tiger13,

It doesn't really matter what positions work best for me as they may not work well for you at all, but in answer to your question, on my back, right side and standing are my best positions. You just need to try them all to find what starts to yield the good feelings during an Anerosession.

I've tried all the basic body positions listed in the WIKI although I haven't tried exhaustive variations of these positions. For some other members thoughts on this topic you may wish to take a peek at the user Poll "What has been your most effective/favorite position?".

It would be fun to hear suggestions from the membership about new circumstances/conditions one might utilize to effect during an Anerosession. Off the top of my head, there are a couple of circumstances that I think might be fun to try if the opportunity ever presents itself. 1.) - Have a session while in a suitably open seated swing. The acceleration/deceleration motion of the swing could impart some interesting effects. 2.) - Have a session while being held aloft by a cushion of air as is done in those free-fall, skydiving simulator/trainers. 3.) Have a session while being suspended in a body harness/sling.
