Hi, just got my Helix. About me: 48, fairly fit, straight, have never attempted any anal pleasure on myself ever, but got the Helix because having a Super O sounds fantastic. Impressions/questions that I hope the members here can answer:

1. Like I said, first time ever trying something like this, but the Helix went in with no problem--two seconds and it was in. Nobody was more surprised than I was. Yes, I put lube on it but I was really expecting at least a bit of work because of the recommendations I've read about the Aneros products--go slow, a bit at a time, etc. I realize every guy's body is different but could this mean it's too small or not the right size/length/width for me? I'm average height, average weight.

2. Once it was in there, I had it in there for about a half hour. No pain. No unusual feelings. Only that full feeling that others have mentioned. Overall, I felt comfortable. I realize I shouldn't expect results right away. But there was no urge to pee. Nothing. I was moving my PC muscle all sorts of ways and concentrating on it but I felt nothing. Then I started thinking: this probably works better if you have an enlarged prostate because it protrudes more into the anal region. I don't have an enlarged prostate. So, once again, I wonder if a larger Aneros would be better for guys with regular-size prostates, coupled with how easy the Helix went in.

3. Today, everything feels fine except the lower edge of my abs are sore from the PC contractions. Is this something I should expect for a while? Because I was only working them for like 20 to 30 minutes. I can't imagine how they'd feel if I had gone for 60 minutes like some people recommend. Any thoughts on that?

Thanks!

Sounds about right to me, being in virtually same spot you're in: out-of-shape muscles you barely knew you had. Experts, founders and patron saints on this Forum recommend Kegels and progressive relaxation training. You get better the more you apply yourself, I reckon.

Hi @qwerty48, welcome to Aneros Forum. You need to arm yourself with information about the Aneros and how it works:

From the Learning Center: https://community.aneros.com/learning-center/men

Study thoroughly the Aneros Wiki.

And yes, feel free to ask questions.

I can attest to the power that the Kegel Exercises have had in my life and in my Aneros sessions.

@BigGlansDC Your encyclopedic knowledge and ability to refer instantly to the large volume of texts that people have contributed over the years are a great service.

@rollingalong, thank you! I have found the collective wisdom of this site very helpful in using the Aneros effectively over the years and refer to it often.

1. ...I realize every guy's body is different but could this mean it's too small or not the right size/length/width for me? I'm average height, average weight.

It's probably not too small at all. The path toward prostate orgasms is more a psychological journey than a physical journey. The men who have successfully found a path to these orgasms have often also found they can get there with no device at all (Anerosless sessions) thus size is not a determinant of success rather your perception of the sensations your body is capable of creating is.

2. ... I wonder if a larger Aneros would be better for guys with regular-size prostates, coupled with how easy the Helix went in.

I don't think prostate size is related to which massager model is better for an individual, though larger sizes may, in fact, be painful for men with enlarged prostates as attested to by some of our members. The size you will feel most comfortable with seems to have no definitive physical determinants . In fact, it is more likely your individual mood will determine which size model will be most comfortable for you on that session occasion.

3. Today, everything feels fine except the lower edge of my abs are sore from the PC contractions. Is this something I should expect for a while?

Yes, but as you get more experienced you will find your pelvic floor muscles will get stronger, more toned and have increased stamina enabling longer and stronger orgasms, both wet and dry types.

@BigGlansDC gave you two essential reading sources to help get you started on a good path, I've also sent you an introductory PM with some additional hints and tips to further your journey.
Good Vibes to You !
