Dear Aneros users,
It looks like I got stuck on my journey. I got to the stage I can get involuntaries easily. However, they do not seem to produce pleasant sensations. If I focus mentally and contract pc/anal muscles in sync with involuntary contractions, I do get some pleasant sensations. They are however nothing to write home about and I do not feel them build up to anything. I relax as much as I can and it can go for an hour then I get bored. Interestingly, sometimes when my attention wanders off I do get a sensation that somewhat similar to when your muscles ask "stretch me please". This is not a unpleasant feeling but is not something I would call sexual. Is this a precursor for p-wave? And then once I notice it the sensation fades quickly. Sort of observer effect, sadly.
So my specific questions:
1. When I get involuntaries, do I need to help my body amplify/echo them with manual contractions? For me, it seems to cause faint pleasure.
2. Or perhaps I should just let involuntaries take over and wait for something to happen?
3. Does a feeling similar to "stretch me please" deep inside groin have anything to do with pwave? And if it does how can I replicate or prolong it? So far it has been extremely elusive.
4. At what stage nipple play is recommended? I noticed messing with my nipples helps involutaries start. But once they start keep doing them gets me distracted.
5. Does marijuana really help? I never tried it before but since it is legal in place I live, I decided to give it a shot. I tried sativa and some hybrid mixes. Not sure if my dosage is right, but my feeling seem to get more intense but since there is no feed-back loop I just end up sweating for hours with body trembling.
6. Once I decided to force-stop all activity (voluntary or not) and just lay still on my back. I specifically needed to inhibit involuntaries because my body just kept on asking to let it tremble. After a few minutes I felt pretty intense pleasure around prostate and it very quickly spreaded and overtook my whole body. I felt my body became pure heat as if I was a lava man or something. This lasted for approx 15 seconds and there were no movement of device (that I could feel). Does this sound like a pwave ?
I appreciate any help and suggestions. I find this an interesting challenge and I wonder if my attempts to dissect situation actually hampers the progress.

This is a very common comment from new users, especially from those with little prior anal play experience. Please remember the following responses are merely my opinions, only one man's viewpoint, discard them if they don't serve you, just remember to have fun with this self exploration.
The whole Aneros journey can appear to the casual observer as some cult like ramblings akin to Black Magic, but real magic is within you.
See, that was nothing, but that's how it always begins, very small.

Sensations do not have to be sexual to be pleasurable. I think your description of muscles asking to "stretch me please" is apropos to what is sometimes referred to as your prostate whispering to you. It might or might not be a precursor to a full P-wave but it is not to be ignored either, it is your body speaking to you in the only language it has available. Listen to it, acknowledge it and thank your body for trying to converse with your mind. If you get bored then it is probably time to engage in some other activity because your ego can not coerce your body to produce pleasure on demand.
1. When I get involuntaries, do I need to help my body amplify/echo them with manual contractions? For me, it seems to cause faint pleasure.
No, you don't "...need..." to do that but if you find it helps then continue experimenting with that technique. The basic rule of thumb here is 'follow the pleasure' path.
2. Or perhaps I should just let involuntaries take over and wait for something to happen?
That's a viable option as well, that is essentially the 'Do Nothing' technique, please see "Do Nothing" What does that mean?.
3. Does a feeling similar to "stretch me please" deep inside groin have anything to do with pwave? And if it does how can I replicate or prolong it? So far it has been extremely elusive.
As noted above it may or may not be a P-wave precursor. IMHO, you can't consciously do anything to replicate or prolong it, the best you can do is provide an optimal environment for you to allow your body to generate these sensations. You might find the thread Identifying Facilitators to Progress helpful here.
4. At what stage nipple play is recommended? I noticed messing with my nipples helps involutaries start. But once they start keep doing them gets me distracted.
Nipple play can be utilized at any stage of your Anerosession, if/when it becomes a distraction then temporarily cease, remember the rule of thumb and 'follow the pleasure'.

If it is legal for you, perhaps a little marijuana (particularly cannabis 'indica' varieties with a high CBD {cannabidiol} content) will help relax you. I'd recommend a low dosage level taken in an edible form. Too much THC may over excite your mind and be a generator of distracting 'mind noise', but at low dosage it may allow you to be more focused on the nuanced sensations your body is speaking without getting too distracted, it can be a difficult balance to establish. Think of it like a magnifying glass, at the right focus (dosage) it helps clarify the subtleties but out of focus (over dosage) it distorts, inverts and confuses perceptions.
6. Once I decided to force-stop all activity (voluntary or not) and just lay still on my back. I specifically needed to inhibit involuntaries because my body just kept on asking to let it tremble. Yes it does sound like a P-wave, however, rather than trying to suppress involuntaries, I suggest you relax the underlying tension to allow that energy to generate stronger P-waves. Trying to suppress the energy only reduces the potential energy available for P-waves.
I find this an interesting challenge and I wonder if my attempts to dissect situation actually hampers the progress.
Trying to dissect/analyze the situation during an Anerosession is counterproductive, there will be plenty of time to reflect upon your experience afterward. Your attitude during a session might best be as an adventurer exploring new territory, open minded to intuitive possibilities, experimental in techniques and non-judgmental about what you find out about yourself. Good Vibes to You !

@rumel Of course all great advice from Rumel.
I only slightly disagree about marijuana edibles. I would discourage edibles unless you are able to get information from the vendor on exactly how much to take for a low dose. Then take half that the first time to see what it does. I understand that taking edibles and tinctures is a way to get high levels of cbd as opposed to thc because of the extraction processes, but edibles can be much stronger than one thinks. I have done many different drugs considered much harder than pot (all in a legal research environment of course), but the scariest places I’ve been have been on pot edibles, due to the inability to accurately dose them. And I would recommend also using pot outside of aneros use (and aneros outside of pot use), to be able to discern which effects come from which and to not become addicted to the need for pot every time you use your toy (or aneros use every time you hit a joint!!!).

This is good advice regarding edibles but what works for some might not for others. I am a heavy user (recreational) of cannabis and always use edibles since I don't like smoking. For me, if I can't have a dose I won't even bother with a session. I have tried countless sessions with no pot and they go nowhere. I'm sure my situation is not like the typical user but I go with what works for me. I love mediation, yoga and stretching but not without cannabis. I often feel my prostrate twitch and glow after taking a strong edible... that's a signal that this is a good time for a session. Every single one of my breakthrough sessions have been when using cannabis.
Like I said, this isn't for everyone but it is what works for me. If you are unfamiliar with edibles or cannabis in general then you should definitely heed the advice given above and start slowly and with caution, but also don't discount it because it's a drug or crutch.
@thhn yes, I agree that it should not be discounted. I personally wish pot wouldn't turn me into a paranoid mess. It seems like a great way of enhancing sessions...

It certainly can do that but perhaps you need to find the right strain. It makes a big difference
with legal weed getting more common you can go to a dispensary and find one that works best for you
I wish it were that simple. I come from a place where pot is legal, I have been involved in its production on and off for years and have tried many strains. Indica, sativa, and hybrids (which most of them are anyways) all make me overanalyze everything to the point of not making it to the end of any thought, task, or anything productive really. And that is coupled with paranoia even in the lowest of doses (like a quarter puff). CBD's on the other hand do nothing noticeable for me. I am very extroverted normally, and confident as well. Pot turns me into an introverted and scared person. So it's simple. I just don't use it anymore. I am happy with all the other drugs out there that do make me feel great. But maybe I'll try a puff one of these days before a session, just to see...
I find this an interesting challenge and I wonder if my attempts to dissect situation actually hampers the progress.
IT'S NO CHALLENGE and in your attempts to analyze everything I indeed see a big hurdle. As you can't chase a wave to help you with surfing. Instead you must let the wave come to you and take you with it.
Perhaps this little exercise may help you. You don't need your Aneros, you only need a comfortable place, some privacy and your hands. It would be fine if you only wore your underwear or were even naked, if your place is warm and cozy enough.
Now put your left palm on your right chest and your right forefinger on the spot right in front of your anus towards your perineum.
Here is your CHALLENGE: Do nothing - manually or voluntarily , but try to sense every little feeling and tell yourself whether you like it or not. "Hey, I love this, oh, that feels good." Of course you can do this silently. Don't exercise longer than perhaps ten minutes or a quarter of an hour. If involuntaries occur, let them happen. Think of yourself as a baby stretching out arms and legs. Once, to your parents surprise, you managed to roll on your stomach. "He has turned, he has turned." Your involuntaries now try to find a way to tease your prostate to give you the nice feelings you search for, but you can't catch them, you must let them happen.
Try the same the other day. Your only job, find new sensations, the more sublime the better. This might help you to find your way with your Aneros. It's not about "when I do this, it makes happen that". It's always new, let your boat go with the flow of the river and view the blossoms and trees passing by, feel the water cuddling your hands, let go. Take it playfully.
Hey, all these ideas are only my two cents here and only my personal point of view. You will have to find your own way, perhaps there is even a logical way, but I doubt it.
Cheers, Mart
thanks everybody for comments and suggestions. I *think* I got the first p-wave. However, the issue was elsewhere.
I believe involuntaries I had were ineffective and my body was thrashing. This is because instead of thrusting the device and rubbing against prostate aneros was staying mostly still and my pelvic region was moving around it instead. So, I did have some pleasant sensations but they were not strong enough presumably for this reason.
I was able to redirect involuntaries from pelvic thrusting to push the device instead. Eventually I started feeling pretty strong pleasure around prostate and it was growing and eventually it took the whole body. Sadly I ran out of time but now it evident positive feed back loop is working and the sensations build up.
I think this others may be running into same issue, so I hope somebody will find this useful.
thanks again.
@zop, great to read, you're on your way. Running out of time is nothing to worry about. My prostate has a fine memory of its own and will not forget what I enjoyed last time. Funny enough an inner dialogue with my prostate affirming my joyful pleasure I am just getting from its efforts helps a lot to let the sensations build up even more. Keep us posted and consider to start a blog in the blogs section. Soon this journey can become too fast to keep in mind all the wonderful experiences. To me it sometimes has been helpful to look up things I already had forgotten. Cheers, Mart
