Hello!

Has anyone any experience in using a high quality vegetable oil (such as sweet almond, jojoba or olive oil) as a lubricant?

Dear Mak,

Although it would seem desirable to use natural products such as you've described, they are unfortunately somewhat inadequate to the task. In choosing a lubricant, what you're really after is a substance that reduces the "surface tension" of the skin without being appreciably absorbed. Vegetable oils do make the the skin feel slippery, but do so weakly as compared to glycerin based,(water based) lubricants. Furthermore, oils may indeed be absorbed by the skin making continual reapplication necessary. Another factor to consider are possible allergic reactions (for some individuals) to vegetable oils, which may cause irritation or worse. Oil based compounds, i.e., lotions, cold creams, vaseline also have these problems.

I have experimented with straight olive oil and an oil complex containing several different oils (sweet almond, coconut, wheat germ, grape seed, sunflower and sesame oils). I found that they simply didn't fascilitate the kind of mobility that I was used to with KY. It's is the unfettered movement of the massager in and out of the anus that enables one to experience the Super O. That having been said, there are those that like to retain the Aneros, throughout a day for purposes of continuous massage, (vs. an orgasmic experience). For such an application, natural oils may be adequate. Some have even reported using water. Afterall, what they're looking for is something pretty much limited to aiding in the initial insertion.

Hope this helps,

B Mayfield

P.S. Oils and oil based compounds tend to be messy,..... more difficult on the clean-up!
