I have a hard time just relaxing. I came across this device in Popular Science. Biofeedback has helped others so I wonder if this device would help me develop a pathway to relax.

It monitors brainwave activity and by monitoring and following directions on a tablet or phone, you can learn to relax and reduce stress. Perhaps, then I might have better Aneros results.
I find after a period of time while using Aneros my mind will become restless and I have to end my session or I can end up with a headache.

Try looking on YouTube for relaxation videos. Also try relaxation hypnosis videos. Just sit back and listen to them. They can be very effective. I've tried it when I wake up in the middle of the night and can't sleep

I listened to this last night, it's an hour long track, I swear I only remembered hearing about 15 minutes of it. I woke up/came to 2 hours later and I thought the music was still playing

Xtimedt69, Biofeedback works. The Muse site doesn't say it but it probably trains the wearer to know when their brain is producing alpha waves which occur when we are relaxed, when we close our eyes or when we're falling asleep. Then the user can associate their mental state and what they're doing with the alpha waves. My spouce went for neuropsych training for anxiety where he had to guide an object on a computer screen into a receptacle by producing alpha waves with a full EEG. It helped him noticeably. When he stopped the sessions, he lost the benefit. Maybe if you go through the training that comes with the Muse, you can rewire your mind to relax. It might be distracting to wear during a aneros session though. Have you tried the relaxation videos or CDs as Matt suggested?

Biofeedback is an interesting topic, I doubt if I'll need it to relax though, but as euphemistic was alluding to it's also used to teach people with mental problems like depression and anxiety to stay out of certain brainareas.
When I read about that it got me wondering about other applications for biofeedback coz it seems to me consciousness when focussed can change the biochemistry and perhaps even the DNA of the body. It would be interesting when devices get truly sophisticated and they can provide realtime feedback level at the DNA level.
They say stress and certain ways of thinking shorten telomeres which in turn bring on oldage faster, while meditation is meant to lower the speed at which the telomeres shorten.
Perhaps when there's biofeedback at this level one could train the mind/consciousness to keep the telomeres stable or even produce telomerase and lengthen the telomeres?

Wouldn't that be the discovery that changes everything!!! That would be a game changer!

@Alexx_xx I have been around just quiet! I have used the aneros music that has been posted and only one of them ever worked, it was very soothing sounded like wind and spray on a beach and it had these pulses that when they crescendo would cause a contraction that felt wonderful. But over time my mind must have become numb too it, because that track no longer works well. Most of the others are way to busy for my tastes.

@xtimedt69, listen to the free download audio file "breathing meditation" at https://sites.google.com/site/anerossessiondownloadsite/home/session-recordings-downloads-page. it keeps me gently aware of my breathing with moving hypnotic background music.
