For the last three weeks due to a herniated sciatic nerve I have not felt pain free enough to use any of my Aneros.
The most startling difference has been to my urine stream. It has gone back to the elderly frequent dribble from good satisfying streams. Fortunately I have continued to get my little series of nice Aneros free spasms. So that is still working. Of course this may be a Panadeine drug response.
I will pick up the Aneros routine again shortly. It will be most interesting to see if I return to the good urine stream.

@isvara,I'm sorry to hear about this. Being your age, I can relate to your predicament and feel strongly a hope that this is only a temporary affliction and that you will soon be back to normal. Is there another pain killer that might do the job better than Panadeine?

I took Tramadole for severe lower back pain at one stage, (before embarking on the Aneros journey), but found that the real cure for my problem was acupuncture! Have you tried that?

@pommie,Thank you. Initially I am going thru all the right processes as I may need to claim on workers compo. I am also mixing short activity with short rest. I am hoping that it will repair itself......
Tonight Helix SYN. All prepped and ready to go.
Chiropractor and acupuncture are in the wings if required when the inflammation reduces.
I will be very interested to know whether Aneros has the huge unexpected side benefits as in the thread leader.

This may be of interest to others so I'll update.
Last night: 30 minutes with Helix SYN, 30 minutes with Progasm Jnr, then Peridise P2 all night. Lots of twitches throughout the night. (Lubrication mix of Sweet Almond Oil with 10% organic beeswax)
Out come, well the "outpour" was excellent again and within the same framework of pain. There was no urgency to get up to wee during the night.
I find it hard to accept that the Aneros benefit could be so quickly restored!
I will update again.

my guess is that the aneros does not shrink prostate tissue. i would be very surprised if measurements of the prostate show shrinkage.

to the extent the aneros helps with BPH my guess is that it relaxes the bladder neck, which is a similar effect as provided by targeted alpha-blockers like flomax.

if that were true then the effect could be quick.

It may not outright shrink the volume of the gland but it probably firms it up. I agree it probably relaxes the bladder neck as I don't have to get up and pee all night after a session.

Aneros stops me from peeing altogeather , most of the time I can not tell i need to go at all and I certainly cant pee without removing the aneros first! This goes for peridise too.So if i leave it in all night I certainly dont getup in the night, The only way I can tell is when I get so full the the movement slows right down coz my bladder is bursting 🙂

First of all, my sympathies to you, isvara. (A little background: I am a physician, so I am writing from some experience). Disc herniations/bulges/sciatica are horrible experiences. In most cases, though, they will slowly resolve. Just make sure you do not have what is called a "foot drop", where the dorsiflexors of the foot (that you use to raise your toes) stop working. That might need intervention. I think that the act of pulling in/up your perineal muscles might be beneficial in some way for the pain. since any strengthening of the muscles around the back and sacrum should help. Do not, however, bear down. That's a no-no, as it can worsen the degree of disc bulging and pressure on the nerves. As far as prostate enlargement and Aneros, it's kind of funny. Just before seeing your post, I had just sent an email to the Aneros people, suggesting that physician/users might like to "get together" in a forum ( though I can see why some or many physicians/health professionals might not want to be identified as such on these forums). The act of prostate massage should be beneficial for early prostate enlargement, but it probably wouldn't help once the gland has significantly enlarged. The effects on the gland would vary depending on the degree of "do nothing" versus "active riding" sessions one has. I have definitely noticed an improvement in stream after my sessions. At 63 years old, and with some of the other manifestations of aging, I have found this improvement to be quite welcome, even if it is not maintained after sessions.

@Armon-neat, thank you for your information.
Off topic. I had a cortisone injection at L4 yesterday morning. It is now 15 hours later and have had a relatively pain free time since. The pain memory still lurks as a cautionary remind to be very careful but not " precious ". The local may have worn off but still feels better, though it is early days. I am seeing the specialist in two weeks time. Thank you for the info "perineal muscle" it feels good to pull this up. No drop foot as yet.
On topic:
I have only used Aneros a couple of times over the last couple of days, and not tonight (middle of the night here as I slept so well in the afternoon). I am very pleased the stream remains much improved and no urgency for a dribble. Before the herneated disk I was easily able to used "Ice" so perhaps in my layman's understanding the prostate may not be too enlarged, or the prostate is now elastic enough to allow a natural Ej occur. That saved my life as I was tensing up so much to ejaculate my heart was under extreme strain. That has gone - for that I thank God.
